Club Wyndham Avenue Plaza

My husband was hospitalized at Ochsner so I was traveling alone. I had never stayed in NOLA before. I am a "country girl." I felt safe at this location. Staff was great and helpful. I was able to walk to restaurants and other places and feel safe even though I was alone.

I liked most things about this hotel- location, room, pool, cleanliness. The hotel is at the city end of the Garden District and a tram stops right outside which is great for seeing the city. The concierge guys did a good job too.

Not much I didn’t like about the hotel. In hindsight I wish I had waited for the tram on my first night instead of walking from the centre- about 25 minutes walk. Also, I wish I had tried the convenience store next door instead of Walgreens. In any case, I did make my own breakfasts, and a packed lunch to take with me.

Location, location, location. Great city view. On the historic St. Charles streetcar line. Fully equipped kitchenette with all new appliances.

Hot water very slow to bathroom.

As soon as I checked in, they tried to get me to attend a timeshare session the following morning. I politely said no but the girl me kept pushing. I had to say no three times. It wasn't the best way to start off a fun weekend.

The kitchen area was good to have. Loved the convection/microwave combination. Good AC. Streetcar stops right out front. $3 Jazzy passes good for 24 hrs. Beautiful pool area with hot tub. Nice pool furniture.

The hotel needs a backup generator. We had a power outage in the area and no AC with the temperature at 104° & 75% humidity for about 8 hours. No windows to open. I am sure the generator would come in handy during the hurricane season. Low water pressure in the shower. Having to sit through a 2-3 hour sales promotion for the vacation club.

Convenient, clean, good location, happy friendly staff, great value ,fully equipped rooms with everything needed. Also, the trams stop is right outside the front door. Would recommend to everyone thinking of travelling to New Orleans to consider Club Wyndham Avenue Plaza for their next visit.

We didn’t know they were a time share linked property with an agent operating in the hotel who approached us to try and get us to attend a 90 minute “talk” for “free” or discount tickets, but to his credit was not pushy and was friendly in accepting our refusal without argument.

Good location for accessing the st.charles street car. The Josephine stop is right in front of the hotel and you can be on Canal St in less than 15 minutes. There are restaurants and a Walgreens in walking distance. The pool and hot tub was nice outside.They were open until 11pm and was never crowded. Room was comfy and looked just like the pictures. Loved the shower head. This is definitely my new go to spot when visiting again.

The bathroom feels a bit small when your sitting on the toilet and the toilet tissue holder fell off the wall. I had to keep the door open because i was feeling closterpbobic but it depends on the person. They did try to sell us on getting cheaper excursions if we went to a presentation about joining Club Wyndham. They called the room annoyingly a few times in the morning and afternoon until I firmly said no thanks.

The room was great, staff were friendly, pool & hot tub very enjoyable, bathroom was a little poky but fine and the bed was very comfortable. Location though is AMAZING, a much nicer & quieter area than in French Quarter but still with some great bars & restaurants nearby and with the street car right outside the front door you are in the French Quarter in no time at all for just a couple of dollars.

The property is a Club Wyndham so just be aware that you will be pressured (and yes I think that is the right word) into attending the 90 minute info session about their holiday share stuff ...and they find it quite hard to take no for an answer!

Everything. Excellent location with St Charles trolly car outside the front door so very accessible to French Quarter and Bourbon Street. It has a beautiful swimming pool with lovely loungers and towels. Excellent service by staff especially Ameya in reception who helped us with lots of things.

The reason we gave it 9 out of 10 was because there were no bar facilities and we also felt the room wrist key band was very unhygienic
