The property was in an excellent location for tourists getting around the city. It was close to Bart, buses and Caltrain lines. There was a Trader Joe’s right across the street where we bought salads for our lunches and yummy muffins, yogurt and fruit for breakfasts. This certainly beat the hotel’s breakfast buffet at $29. There is a market inside the hotel where you can get a fancier coffee than the simple machine variety in the room.

Internet costs $15 a day. I suppose I’m used to free internet in this day and age so this is why I rated the facility under a 10 star rating.

Person at check-in was SO FRIENDLY and KIND. Our day was an extremely long one and our check-in was smoothe as silk. Hotel location is AWESOME as it allowed us to walk to our restaurant for dinner without having to worry about finding/paying for parking. Market place in lobby to purchase food and drinks.

Unavailability of room service; however, TOTALLY understandable due to covid restrictions. Comment not specific to Marriott, but the cost for overnight parking is absolutely ridiculous throughout SF ($79). Perhaps Marriott might begin the movement of lowering the cost of hotel parking. Do hotels REALLY need that much money from EACH hotel guest?

They should know what to do especially charging us $80 a night???? The room charge is too much just bcoz uts Marriott even there’s nothing really out there!

really loved our bedroom, we were very happy with the size, the cleanliness and just how modern it was. The location was spot on and the staff on reception was very helpful.

We were given a voucher to use at various bars/restaurants no site, but after ordering various drinks were told that we could only use x 1 voucher on x 3 separate rounds of drinks. We'd been given 3 vouchers (1 per room) and we ordered separately but because we were sat together we could only use x 1 voucher. The staff at the bar at the top of the building were not very friendly which was a real shame as everyone else we met certainly were.

The room was wonderful, the best was very comfortable. I ended up falling right to sleep when usually I struggle to sleep. The staff made us feel like family, after the first day some of them even knew us by name and knew who my son was so if I showed up for breakfast without him the would show him to my table when he came down as we had different rooms on different floors as I was traveling for business and he and his girlfriend were traveling for pleasure as they had never been to San Francisco. I will not stay at a different hotel the next time I travel to San Francisco. This was truly the best hotel experience I have ever had in over twenty years. I honesty miss the staff and their wonderful smiling faces.

Nothing, well other than the smell of weed that sadly was smelt anywhere you walked outside the hotel but as for the hotel, nothing at all.

I just booked for overnight, and I am from San Francisco. Just needed a night to stay after my kids' activities. Me and my daughter stayed to get a relaxing environment. I liked the bedsheets so clean. Didn't see any particles of hairs and dust. Excellent for cleanliness. I've been to a lot of hotels here in SF, South SF, Las Vegas, and L.A. hotels. But so far, Marriott Marquis is the cleanest and smells good. I've been to N.Y. Marriott Residence, but Marriott Marquis is great.

The Valet parking staff. Asking for cash and said that they are not affiliated with Marriott Marquis, so they are giving discount. Why is this young man doing it? He is tall and has curly hair and looks mixed. I hope to discipline this kind of practice of your staff so it won't be added as negative to your rating

The room was lovely, and though we didn’t pay for a view we were still on the 11th floor. The room was very vegan-friendly, cruelty free bathroom products etc and non-dairy creamer for the coffee. The black out blinds were great. The cleaning staff were lovely. Lifts were incredibly quick.

I’m not sure if this is just a culture shock, we are from the UK, but as soon as you exit the hotel you enter onto a street that is quite dirty, and we were accosted and shouted at by homeless members of the community. I’m unsure whether this is normal for America, but as a foreigner it made us quite nervous to be outside of the hotel which obviously isn’t ideal for holiday. Another note is that the queues to speak to reception were quite long very frequently.

Our reservation did not include breakfast but it was possible to have breakfast in nearby places. Hotel is very well located and close to Powell Station and blocks from Union Square. Easy to use public transport, taxi or uber

The 4th Street door is not open 24 hours and the option is to enter through the vehicular area on the same street or on Mission Avenue. I understand that it is for Hotel security, but I did not feel safe as a guest arriving without a car.

Proximity to the Union Station allows easy access to discover the city. Large rooms properly equipped with everything what you need during your stay. Professional and friendly staff.

Price of the breakfast is too high for a family. The hotel should think about offers and packages for families during vacation season rather than business travellers probably on company‘s expenses. Same for valet parking (approx. 79 USD/overnight). It you do not wish to apply to Marriott‘s membership programme, internet is not free of charge, which is - according to my opinion - not really acceptable nowadays.

My family & I loved the location of the hotel. The staff was very helpful with directions. The rooftop bar. Snack & food options. The bed was comfy.

The furniture in the rooms are out dated. Update the coffee & tea makers in the rooms, renew for better quality & taste. We didn’t like the homeless hanging so close-by to pan handle as soon as we walked outdoors. The Mexican restaurant had mice on the outside patio which was so gross to see as we were finishing our dinner. The restaurant inside needs a newer menu & a new head chef, the best item on the menu were the chicken tenders & fries. The bar tender needs to learn more variety of drinks. We loved the close proximity to a mall, Target, Giant stadium & restaurants.
