Great location. Walking distance to Pier 39 and tourist area, with shops and restaurants. Perfect to park the car (without a charge). Large room viewing a glimps of Golden gate bridge (at the 3rd floor). Also at the same floor a beautiful outdoor terrace to sit and relax or having a meal/snack. When we noticed our coffee maker was broken the cleaning personal gave us directly a new one.

People at the reception could have had a little bit more friendly approach. City maps could have been given out for example.

free undercover parking; someone usually always at reception; fridge in the room - provided a kettle as requested on booking - very helpful reception staff, especially Ramon! Able to open the window in our room. Fresh towels daily if we wanted and good housekeeping service. This is like a 2-3 star Inn very simple but has everything we were looking for at a reasonable price. I did not want to stay somewhere that did not have 'internal corridors' to get to the rooms - SFO weather is too unpredictable/cold and it was internal access from the carpark to lift/rooms. Funky communal/lounge areas - even a small rooftop terrace!

Furnishings in the room were 'tired'.

This hotel hits all the marks of a great place to stay: it's extremely clean ( the housekeeping staff is both quick and highly efficient); the location is great ( we like the coffee shops near Van Ness on Lombard -just 1.5 blocks away) and bus 28 will take you to the Presidio and Tunnel Tops, Golden Gate Park, Sunset district; and the non-traditional Stonestown Mall (lots of fine Asian food). There are many small details in the room: excellent reading lights on each side of the bed; many electrical outlets; a stylish and big refrigerator. The third floor has a small lounge for guests and a lovely terrace. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. An added bonus: most of the other guests were families from foreign countries and they were interesting to meet. I not only recommend this hotel but also plan to return.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. On a clear day, you can see the Golden Gate bridge from the Rooftop Deck. This is a good location, with access to some restaurants within a couple of blocks. Many of the attractions are within a short drive (or medium distance walk) like the Palace of Fine Arts.

Parking can be a little tight, but we always found a parking spot upon returning. The staff will work with you if there is an issue. Honestly, parking is an issue everywhere we went in S.F. so Buena Vista seems to handle this well,considering they have free parking for their guests.

The location was in a nice safe district, in what we found to be very much a city of two halves. The lovely picturesque half and the other frequented by the very public vagrants with obvious drug problems. This made the city feel the most threatening and abandoned by its people of all the places we visited on our stay in the US. Be careful not to stay in or stray into the districts such as the Tenderloin district. It was certainly an eye opener to the problems facing the US administration at this time. The hotel was located walking distance from the docks and the boardwalk areas of the city and Lombard street on which the hotel sits is also walking distance from the famous wiggly street. (it is all uphill so therefore not for the faint hearted perhaps) And there was a bloke walking a duck, what is not to like about that?

Nothing really because the hotel itself was difficult to fault, and it was exactly what we needed for our stay. The staff had good local knowledge and a hop on hop off tour bus stopped outside the door. Although we did not use it because it seemed expensive. The city is very walkable, but be careful where you walk, as previously stated.

The room was clean and comfort. We requested for Microwave and the front desk person had set it up quickly. Free parking on the premise was an added advantage. Fortunately, we had parking lots available on the days we stayed and they have easy access to parking floors from within the hotel. The hotel is very convenient and couple of minutes of drive to all the attractions in SFO. Its actually one of the stops if you book a tour with Big Bus Tours, however the first stop for the day would be at around 11:30am, hence we didn't wait for it. We took our car and parked near Stop #1 at 10am and started the tour. Though we just stayed for 2 days only, we requested for a room service on day 1 and they did it perfect. Check out was a seamless process through a virtual agent. Something new that we experienced.

We liked pretty much everything. Safe neighborhood, clean rooms. Friendly staff. The hotel met our expectation.

Would be nice if they place kettle and microwave in all rooms. The TV seems does not work properly in room 117. Please add TV option to watch YouTube and other streaming services, kids cant live without those things. The hotel was pretty much empty but we got a room with a nice view of wall.

Everything is good. Free parking lot, prime location on Lombard st., near Pier 39. Decent WiFi. There are a few good cafe nearby. It is decent place at a good price.

I would appreciate having an electric tea kettle and a microwave. And a laundry. But they are not advertised so you know they are not there. The laundromat is across the street. And there’s a coffee maker in the room. I got a few hiccups with the WiFi but managed to make it work. On an occasion parking was full, but again as advertised: first come-first served basis.

The shower could be a bit improved for better pressure (3rd floor). The room door locks card reader had hard time reading the card and unlocking room (minor).

The beds were really comfy. I enjoyed having the mini fridge in the room and that it was cleaned. The shower pressure was nice. The curtains were nice but also not a great thing since they either opened all the way or just closed completely and not in sections.

You can see where the wall had some minor repairs. A lot. The bathroom sink had a huge crack in it. Not a huge deal but seemed weird. The TV having the cable box just hanging from the wires, interesting choice. Wifi kept cutting out at times which was annoying as I was needing to do some work.
