The Westin New York Grand Central

Room: The best I've had in my NY trip, compared to the airbnbs and the ones near airport. Spacious and Clean, Staff: Ah, such a warm welcome and a good talk while checking-in, they always greeted with a smile as we walked in from our tired day. This we definitely lacked for quite a while amongst most hotels we've been staying at lately. Location: The neighborhood is perfectly walkable, has a sandwich shop(with fresh juices) next door, Grand Central station is also at a walkable distance, CVS, Clothing and many more. Safety: We've got our NYC tours done and walked in to the hotel pretty late at night 11-12 and felt safe. Breakfast: We missed our weekend special breakfast but not a fan of the weekday breakfast(complimentary - limited to a single menu item). Others: Were offered complimentary breakfast coupon for one person for two days for a stay of 4ppl for 3days. Were given some credit for local bike(citi bike), and laundry credit too.

Great location!! Walking distance to many nyc touristy spots and close to grand central station and the subway. Starbucks was right down the block. Staff was super nice and attentive especially the valets. The room was spacious and the beds were super comfortable.

No mini fridge in our room. The ice machine was broken on our floor and we had to go to other floors.. not a Super big deal just kind of inconvenient. Our AC was not working super great but it was the hottest days of the summer when we traveled. Parking was expensive.

The manager Nevelle (probably not spelled right) was great! All the workers, from the front desk to the concierge and the guys handling our luggage were all fantastic. Very clean and aesthetically pleasing. The beds were very comfortable also.

It was a bit pricey for us, but compared to other hotels we looked at, it definitely wasn't. I suppose we're just used to a lower cost of living, and we wanted to make sure we had a good quality stay. Which we definitely did.

my only 1 concern at check-in was that my international credit cards were not working, neither was Apple Pay. it was strange since it had worked and continued working for everything else in NY and PA including the hotel restaurant and other hotels I stayed in. luckily my friend was there to help me out - but otherwise this was a big inconvenience. the check-in staff insisted I call my bank (even though that would have been a long international call) and couldn’t offer me any other resolution.

From the moment we arrived at The Westin Hotel, the reception staff were so welcoming! We got the best room '3820'!! Views over the city and the best part was the perfect view of The Empire State Building, especially at night! The room was spacious and so clean, the beds were so comfortable, we slept so well. The Staff overall were just brilliant, from Concierge to Dining, from Valet to Housekeeping they made the made the 5 days even better than what I could have expected from a large city hotel in New York!! Distance into the city centre was perfect for us as we walked everywhere, so close to Grand Central Station for my daughter to get the train to work in Connecticut. only one street away from my work also. which was such a coincidence. Breakfast was not part of the deal but we got complimentary vouchers from reception on arrival, we could choose a sit-down breakfast or a grab and go!! Such a lovely gesture! I cannot fault the hotel or the staff one bit, will most defiantly be back to The Westin New York Grand Central!!!!!

Due to Covid peak, the hotel was working with lower capacity (guests and personnel). To support the situation; the hotel staff provided us with free breakfast and drinks vouchers. A wonderful thought that was much appreciated by us. The room was very big and comfy, we slept very well. The location next to the subway and grand central was amazing. Difficult to do any better. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Room cleaning was mediocre (missing items in bath room, no cleaning under the beds) but this could be linked to the reduced staff due to Covid. Elevators can be slow in the busy periods, and be early for breakfast as there can be a queue later on.

I am writing to commend about the awesome Concierge service I received at the Westin NY Grand Central- in particular by two staff, Eve Melendez and Nilton. I especially want to highlight the service extended to us by Eve, when we arrived tired (and extremely agitated) after an 18hr flight. When we shared we were scammed by a NY cab driver, she immediately arranged for a fruit basket (totally wonderful gesture!) and checked in with us every day to see if we were ok.

We stayed at the Westin again 2 weeks later but this time around we were poorly received at the reception.. ;( Though we arrived around 4pm the staff said our name was not in the system (even though we received a confirmation pin) and gave us a room with 2 beds despite our booking of a King sized (KS) bed. She was totally unapologetic, rude and claimed because we used a third party hotel booking platform, i.e. Booking.com hence our booking is not guaranteed! Like who doesn't use an external platform for hotel bookings??!! However the service recovery we received from Irina Borukhov, Front Office Manager was fantastic- she not only gave us our KS room within the day, but an upgrade to nicer room on a higher floor with breakfast!

Location, staff, bar, rooms! We loved this hotel! The drink passes were a sweet perk at the end of a long day of sight seeing! The concierge was knowledgeable and sweet.

We traveled with a child and got a king bed and a pull out room. They did not provide any bedding or make the pull out bed up. After dinner, we stopped at the desk and asked for help. They said they would send someone up, but when they did it was pretty late. Would have been better if there was a stack of bedding in room. Also, a comforter. She was cold and not real cozy.

Spacious room, the front desk staff we're very nice despite the noisy atmosphere.

The dining area is essentially inside the lobby, making it incredibly loud at the front desk. I'm all for a lively energy but you have to lean in to talk to the staff like you're at a concert because you can't hear anything. Grab and go counter staff were kind of rude, but understandably so because no one knew how to use the breakfast card they were given at check in because you can't hear what the front desk staff are saying, so they probably get asked the same question 100 times per day

Very centrally located with good restaurants in the vicinity and almost within walking distance of all attractions eg Broadway, Central park etc. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We requested a bar fridge and kettle that was delivered and installed within 15min.
