The design alone is a marvel, with everything in gold and rich velvets. Room was lovely - massive with a balcony. They also had an adorable cat. Staff were friendly and held my luggage for me whilst waiting for my coach. Location is great and within walking distance of food, markets, a 7/11 and the Chiang Rai clock.

Needs a little TLC - mainly cosmetic things. Shower didn’t heat up even after a long while and was full of spiders. I seemed to be the only guest at the property, so instead of the breakfast buffet they gave me a plate of food; I just wished they’d asked my dietary restrictions beforehand as I felt bad leaving so much of it.

Staff were excellent. Helpful, considerate, kind and very helpful. Room was very large, bed comfortable. Breakfast was good. Location was perfect, being within short walking distance of the night bazaar (bus station, if needed) and restaurants, food and coffee places. Also close by was the clock tower. A very large indoor market was near it, as well as an old, interesting wat.

Room 208. I would have rated this hotel as superb, except the bathroom lighting for this room was not very good as there was none above or near the shower so it was dark in the evening or night. The bathroom was large so the one light above the sink did not reach the shower area.

- the hotel looks very good, it is elegant, it really inspires a royal atmosphere - the rooms are extremely beautiful, spacious, bright and clean - the breakfast was tasty and served in a very nicely decorated room - we had all the necessary accessories in the room (including an iron and scales) - the air conditioning was arranged in such a way that it did not blow directly on the bed, which made for a pleasant atmosphere in the room

- the lady at the reception forgot to tell us all how to lock the room door; before leaving the room, you have to press the button on the inside of the doorknob to lock it, then pull the door behind you; it doesn't lock with the key - we have nothing else to say, it was a wonderful stay!

The ambiance and decor are fascinating. This is a clean and well maintained hotel. A gold colour theme is prevalent including the paper and painting on the walls, window curtain tones and furniture parts. Tall-back chairs and decorations in rooms, hallways and common areas are cherished antiques. The owner / manageress and her colleagues go out of their way to make guests feel welcome, answer their questions and provide services in many areas from room service to breakfast meals. The breakfast buffet meals and drinks are delicious.

Unique interior design, enormous rooms, very friendly owner. The breakfast was okay but nothing special. The overall atmosphere was very calm and we enjoyed the bright and cosy room with the pretty little balcony. The house is old and could use some renovation work (the doors need some persuasion to close all the way) but because of this also charming like it’s in a deep sleep. The overall price/value is exceptionally good!

Everything was very clean except for the pillow cases that held some persistent stains. When showering, we suddenly had no water because it needs some time to refill (both hot and cold) but after figuring this out, we had no further issues.

We chose this hotel because it looked completely different, which was what we needed on our nine week adventure. It didn’t disappoint! Found everything to be as in the photos. Such an easy walk to the night market, restaurants, supermarket and bus station but in a quiet situation. Yes it was next to a bus graveyard, but not a problem. Plenty of nature around too. Staff were so helpful.

Agree that the breakfast was a disappointment, but there was choice and sufficiency.

We had a very large deluxe room with a balcony which was lovely. The bed was comfy and the bathroom enormous with a clothes drying rack which was helpful. The hotel was off the main road and very quiet and close to the walking street market and everything else that you could need. Breakfast was included and there was a lot of variety and the coffee was hot!

The hostess was the sweetest and most helpful. The welcome was warm and informative. She even got up at 5am to farewell us. This hotel.is like a palace throughout The huge room.was well appointed in a lavish style. The tours organised at the hotel were great and good value. The location is great, quiet but easy walking to the market and restaurants . Great value

Nothing all good

Such a lovely place, we felt like a king and queen staying here! Very clean, comfortable beds, very large room with big TV, nice bathroom, hot water, and cleaned every day if you requested. Breakfast was included, and you could request more if you wanted. Short walk to bus station and around town. Massive street food market just around the corner on Saturdays. We had a really enjoyable stay and would come back any time!

The location was great, walking distance to night bazaar and walking street. Comfortable bed and the room was large and clean with stunning decor. Lady at reception was very helpful arranged tours and laundry, would definitely stay here again

Mould in bathroom but that is more of a Thailand thing doesn’t mean it’s not clean
