Hyperion Hotel Basel

Superclean rooms with a nice view, perfect comfortable bed for 2, staff was very friendly. Location perfect with free pass to use the public transport. The tram stops right in front of the hotel, you can't have it more convenient. the only thing what was missing was more space for clothes and suitcase that was very small for 2 persons but besides that everything was perfect!

Right from the off, the staff were extremely welcoming and super friendly! The room was as expected, along with a complimentary mini bar. Everything about the room was great, comfortable bed, great view, stylish design and a fantastic shower. Mini bar stocked with beer, coke, apple juice and water. Also tea & coffee machine. Fantastic location with a tram stop right outside the door. The 6 line ran every few minutes and took you straight into the heart of the old town within 4 or 5 minutes. Great restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk too.

Everything was near on perfect, if we had to point to anything though, my wife and I both agreed the pillows were a little too soft/flimsy, not offering the greatest support.

The room was very spacious and I particularly liked the layout of the vanity unit area, the lighting was excellent and had a wonderful lit magnifying mirror for make up / shaving , missing in so many hotels !. The bed was so comfortable with excellent quality sheets. Nice having coffee machine and complimentary mini bar. Hotel location was fantastic, the tram stop for the center and main station was literally 5 steps from hotel door, although it is a nice walk into the old town. Would stay again if in area

House keeping was lacking after our first night, they had been in the room but did not service it properly , I bought this to the attention of reception on leaving, who said this was not their normal standard and had I called down they would have corrected it immediately.

the hotel was great you got the city voucher for free transport on the trams which was good as the hotel was away from the old part of town but an easy tram ride. Not that many places to eat that were open. THAI SQAURE was good and reasonably prices. In hindsight should probably got off the Canal cruise and continued on the same day.

The internet system was a nuisance as there was no code given and you had to log in and set a few things up not good for international travellers that were using data only and could not receive texts to confirm validity. Also would have been better to have a top sheet on the bed as the duvets were thick and too hot. Having nothing was too cold and additional top sheet would have beed great, although this is not that common in Europe.

The view was breath-taking. The windows are floor to ceiling, so you can really see it all. Beautiful trees and architecture mixing old & new. Inside the elevator there's this UV-C air filtration system active. Such a soothing attention to detail. I'm allergy-prone, but I didn't sneeze at all while I was there. The food was magnificent... So much variety and even some gluten-free options!! Front desk was staffed 24/7, and all of them were multi-lingual. The mini bar was FREE!! It was also refilled every day.. So many of these lovely attentions to detail.. The design of the room was really pretty too, with close-up nature photography wallpaper and this sliding wall + beautiful lighting. It's a centrally-located hotel, so I walked around Basel-Stadt with ease. Also never got lost since the building is tall enough that it's visible even from far away. There was also a free transit ticket provided that covered most forms of local transit. The attention to detail, I'm truly so impressed by all of it. I basically got premium service for a moderate price.

The gym was small, but that wasn't so bad since it was well equipped. I really can't complain, I was treated so well by this hotel. It's unforgettable how brilliant a stay this was.

Very poor quality pillows which were so very thin. Our room was not serviced until 4.45pm on one day and our towels were very wet from the previous evening shower so we missed having a shower on that day as we wanted to eat early. Reception said they had to service many departure rooms on that day first which does not seem that pre planning had taken place. No kettle to make tea only a nespresso machine but we managed to boil water with that albeit very slowly

The hotel was excellent, the location, the staff was kind, friendly and responsive! Everything was TOP! I highly recommend it to people with their family, friend groups or anyone that is visiting Basel for couple of days and would like to have a great experience. From the airport (EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg) you can take bus number 50 till - Brausebad and take number 6 tram till - Gewerbeschule - which is the just in front of the hotel :)) Regarding the parking place, just next to the hotel there is big building for parking, after you park there (fl.5) you give the ticket to the reception and pay it there, then you receive a card and when you are living the parking you just put this ticket in the machine. In Switzerland there are no free parking places, I am recommending everyone to check and plan it in advance. Thanks a lot for making our stay in Basel wonderful and unforgettable! There is no free parking places for the guests of the hotel.

At first, the room didn't have the best view but after asking the reception they changed our room the next day to a room with a great view of the city. The rooms were relatively clean and tidy and the free-of-charge mini bar was a bonus.

Probably the price was too high for us since we booked on a very short notice but if you book upfront you'd probably get a great deal. Our first room's AC didn't work as we set, making it super cold. We had to get a heater from the reception to make the room a bit warmer but the problem got fixed by changing our room.

Good location. Room was a decent size and located on the 14th floor, with good views over the city. The front of desk staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They also kindly allowed me to check out half an hour late so that I could complete a work call in the room. The complimentary mini bar was a generous touch. The bed was comfortable. WiFi was very good.

It would be good to have some instructions for how to use the lighting system etc. The bathroom sink seemed to be a little blocked. One bath towel had a small stain on. A small pack of biscuits in the mini bar would be great. An additional pillow in the room would have been good.
