Where to begin? From the delightful reception staff of this exceptional establishment, with their warm welcome, outstanding service, friendly and attentive hospitality (special mentions although I know I must have missed some names: Javier, Ramón, Manuel, and Belen), to the beautiful room with the stylish and elegant decor and a very equipped bathroom with the best rain shower I have ever used - I also booked a room with a view and small balcony overlooking the gorgeous port so this was an added advantage and despite it overlooking the port, the soundproofing was so efficient I could hardly hear any noise from the outside - to the cleaning crew who alway left the room immaculately clean and smelling so fresh (also a special shout-out to Johana, Luz, Estrellé, and Vauesa) - to the location of the hotel, a mere two minutes away from the port promenade and then further down to Muelle Uno, and a short distance to the historic Center and main shopping street (Calle Larios). I stayed at Room Mate Valeria for a whole month and each week, when I came back to my hotel room, I would find a little something waiting for me as a nice gesture from the hotel staff, it was so cute. The hotel’s motto is “mi casa es su casa” (my home is your home) and they follow that motto to the letter. A didn’t have breakfast at the hotel so I can’t comment on that, but it is definitely a hotel you would love to stay at as your home away from home! Upon check-in I paid slightly extra to be upgraded and it was worth it - for a huge room, with a view and balconette towards the harbour/port and on a higher level. The double-glazed windows were so beneficial and really kept the outdoor noise out. And I didn't hear any noise from the room above or on either side of me. The room was really tastefully decorated with bottle-green colours, including the metro tiles in the bathroom. Staff were super friendly - both at reception and upstairs at the rooftop pool. Location is fabulous as its a jump across the road to the centre.

The only fault is that a good bottle of bleach or mould killer needs to be used on the tiles in the shower. I have no doubt that the amenities get cleaned, but the tiles had quite a bit of black mould in certain parts and really need a seeing to with an old toothbrush and bleach.

We loved the hotel’s funky vibe . As soon as we entered the lobby, we were welcomed by the lovely reception staff, all of whom couldn’t do enough for us during our stay. Our room was on the 4th floor & we had a lovely view of the port, where every morning we were greeted by the arrival of a different cruise ship! Very comfy rooms, everything well thought out apart from a few things which are mentioned below. The most amazing shower - the best we have experienced in a hotel & lovely shower products. Great rooftop area with fab views. Bar & sunbathing area with small pool. We paid for breakfast which, generally was very good - a few faults, which are mentioned below. The hotel’s location is perfect, not only are you right in the centre, you are also overlooking the port & marina area. Would definitely recommend Room Mate Valeria.

Bedroom faults: considering how up to date everything is in the hotel, we were disappointed with the coffee facilities, would have expected more than instant coffee sachets. Thought there may have been better choice of TV channels & would have been nice to have Bluetooth so we could have played our own music. Breakfast faults: The hot breakfast choice was awful, we didn’t bother trying it but it all looked extremely unappetising. They’d be better off not bothering or making fresh on request. Pool area: we realise that there are COVID measures in place but it was rather over the top that you weren’t allowed to sit on the well spaced out cabana beds unless there was a spare bed between - ridiculous really considering people were sat all crammed together in the bar area!

Great hotel with very friendly staff always happy to help with any needs you have. Great location close to air, rail and bus links also at the edge of The Old Town and close to the beach. The hotel is very clean and beds done daily and fresh towels, amenities on request. Beds are big and very comfortable. The rooftop bar is an excellent addition to have.

The cost of drinks and dining are higher than the surrounding area. The rooftop bar prices took high. The rooftop bar at weekend nights filled with local young people and like a club night so not as suitable for families or couples who want to chill at the end of the night in such a lovely space. The room was a bit dull lighting especially natural due to being internal looking into an open courtyard, an external looking room would solve that issue.

Location of the hotel is great - only a short walk to the old town, promenade or the beach. The port bus station is also just across the road if you want to use the local service for travelling along the coast. We had a twin room with two big beds and a balcony looking out towards the port area. It was clean and comfortable. The rooftop bar and pool were great after a hot day of exploring! There were plenty of sun loungers and so space was never a problem. The staff on the reception and in the bar were all very friendly and helpful. It's hard to find any fault with the hotel!

We had a wonderful stay in Malaga. the staff were amazing when we arrived without our passports having just left them in a taxi from the airport. They spent ages ringing around to locate the taxi driver and by the afternoon of the next day we had them back. They were so kind and patient with us. The hotel itself is in a fabulous location and is very clean. The rooms are extremely comfortable and well equipped. The roof terrace bar and pool are lovely places to relax. We could not fault this hotel in any way and heartily recommend it to anyone visiting Malaga.

1. The location was fantastic. 2. The staff were kind and spoke English fluently. 3. There are two fast operating elevators. 4. There was a welcoming bottle of water and some cookies which I found cool. 5. The room was not so big but very clean and comfortable. The beds are really comfortable. The light is great. There is safe, water kettle and complementary tea and coffee. Electricity outlet on both sides of the beds. Fridge. Extremely good AC. 6. The barh was clean and chic. 7. There is a pool on the floor which is open 11 to 9 pm. It is not big but enough for chilling. 8. The bar on the rooftop is perfect. Open to the public and fresh drinks. You cannot charge the drinks on the room. You should pay by card or cash. 9. The breakfast was complete. From vegetables and fruits to croissants and cheesecake. We chose to eat at the hotel as it was perfect and had a reasonable price. Overall. Extremely satisfied with the hotel. Highly recommended.

cool decor very comfortable very central location

parking was a problem due to Christmas lights and everyone flooding in to the city. Hotel could have sent out a warning to say that if you could arrive earlier it would save the hassle. Nearby parking was all full at our arrival time so we had to drive around busy unknown city searching for another one. Slightly over our budget for such a small stay but location was probably reason why.

The location is perfect: on the edge of the Soho area, on the side of the "new" boulevard and within walking distance of everything nice (many pleasant museums in Malaga). Previously quite a grim, now a just not too pimped up neighborhood with nice restaurants. The staff was top notch. There are plenty of quiet rooms around the patio if you want to sleep with windows open and can't stand traffic noise. Despite the traffic, it is still pleasantly located with a little square with trees in front. Eating downstairs at Dona Inez is also a treat, especially the black rice.
