AC Hotel Málaga Palacio by Marriott

Amazing hotel, great location, amazing rooftop bar & pool, and very friendly staff.

We have stayed in this hotel 3 times now and absolutely love it. However, there are too many people who are not hotel guests in the rooftop bar at night, which means hotel guests do not get the full benefits of paying to stay in the hotel - admittedly, this was frustrating. It's nearly impossible to get a seat at night on the weekends and takes a long time to get a drink due to the number of people who are not hotel guests being allowed in, and no provision being made to prioritise hotel guests. It should be possible for guests to reserve seating on the weekends, considering the money they have spent to stay in the hotel (primarily due to the facilities and location).

fabulous hotel in the center right next to the cathedral. can’t get any closer to everything. also the rooms were extremely clean and the staff friendly.

The location is great-- adjacent to the port and the cathedral. Shops and restaurants right outside, as well as a nice park area for walking and a playground. Beds were comfortable, view was amazing (but below the fourth floor, I think the view would be just trees, not the water). The rooftop restaurant and bar looked nice. The pool was very busy. It was refreshing but small, but there is a free towel service poolside. Service was attentive and top-notch. The view of the cathedral and the sunset from the rooftop was almost worth the price alone.

There was a bit of a funky smell from the bathroom drains (not that uncommon in my experience in Spain, but a little surprising given the price of the room). This is nitpicky, but the pool could use a little updating. There isn't any tile around the inside of it, just paint, and the paint is peeling.

The people of Malaga and the Marriot Hotel gave my 85 year old mother & I the warmest of welcomes and we had the most wonderful time! The hotel has a young and friendly vibe and with a stunning view over this lovely city. So many amazing sights, galleries and shops a stones throw away and the hotel's position right next to the Cathedral was ideal. Everything was of the highest of standards at the hotel, with a lovely rooftop bar and restaurant and staff who couldn't do enough for you. Thank you so much!

The lifts are a bit annoying sometimes but ok once you get the hang of them! Going home!

elevators funny to work out but actually if fully sighted or wearing your glasses easy to work out. Funny system but probably due to a sophisticated security system which isn’t a bad thing.

The location was good for the beach and the marina and the room nice and well serviced . The staff, particularly on reception , were very helpful and pleasant. We stayed bed and breakfast and were really pleased breakfast was served untill 11-00 am - we hate to have to rush in the morning on holiday and the chef cooking fresh eggs, crepes etc was very good and sociable . Was nice to have entertainment in the bar .

The parking facility at the hotel was very expensive for paying guests . Would have been good to have more sun beds placed in the gardens - there were onl a few and we missed out on several days . A menu with more choice in the bar would have been useful .

Ideal hotel for a short break to Malaga, truly excellent location, for access to old town, (right next to cathedral) and sight- seeing, beautiful views of Malaga. Roof top area has exceptional panoramic view of Malaga Beach and marina a very short walk away. We had a sea view which I would recommend. Stayed bed and breakfast, breakfast not the most exceptional but adequate. However there are so many places to eat spoilt for choice and reasonably priced. Easily accessible from airport by Airport bus A

Roof area more of a bar area, no sun loungers for relaxation but our visit was in November. Pool small but adequate.

The location of the hotel - the main shops/bars/restaurants just minutes walk away but an easy stroll to the seafront and beach - lovely roof top pool, the staff were all very attentive and polite and the room was clean and comfortable. The blackout curtains were so good we slept in on a couple of occasions! A definite bonus for us!

Nothing really! It is right by a main road so sometimes traffic noise was disturbing but that was to be expected

As we walked into the hotel, The concierge gave us a warm welcome . The receptionaist was absolutely incredible and allowed us to check in a little earlier. The staff went over and above to ensure we had a lovely stay. The roof top pool and bar was stunning with breathtaking views. The price of drinks were slightly high, but its Malaga so it was worth it. The rooms were lovely, cleaned to a very high standard. The bed was extremely comfortable. Location was perfect as it is central to everything. We loved our stay and will definitely return

We were delighted to be upgraded by the hotel to the junior suite. The room was absolutely incredible. In particular, we really enjoyed taking in the views and the sounds of the city from the balcony each morning. Thank you so much! :) Funny enough, my parents were also upgraded when they stayed here many years ago. Apart from the upgrade, we loved the hotel in general. The best thing about the hotel is probably the location. You are basically in the heart of the old town as soon as you walk out the door, and apart from that, you are just down the road from the harbor area, which is filled with restaurants. You won't be disappointed if you stay here.

One time it took me 15 minutes to get up to the rooftop because the elevator wouldn't come.
