Thon Hotel Europa

The breakfast was very good. Variety was ok, but the quality was high. Area was quiet and within walking distance to a lot of sights. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The rooms, even though they come with basic amenities, are very well maintained and clean. Attention to detail is obvious. I especially liked the questionnaire that asks about feedback on the overall maintenance of the room. I believe that is why there were no usual issues like I've seen in hotels of a higher price point. No scuff marks on the walls from luggage, nothing broken chipped or stained.

If travelling during summer, keep in mind that the sun will be out for the better part of 24 hours. The black out curtains still leave slivers of light to pass which can hamper sleep if you are used to sleeping in complete darkness.

We came at the hotel after a night train from Bergen to bring our luggage. The emails from the Hotel (by themselves) in advance was already written that we should contact the hotel if they have a room ready for earlier check-in. We didn't expect to get our room already at 7.30!!! in the morning! We were quite dead from the trip and were therefore sooooo happy that the lady at the front desk helped us out!! It was overall very good experience!! Would like to thank her again for the help :)

Staff was fantastic, the breakfast at the hotel was amazing quality, and the location is absolutely perfect being right next to the Royal Palace and 5 minutes walk from the National Theatre metro which has access to every line

I was provided with two small duvets for a double bed rather than a full size duvet. Not sure why, but I kept forgetting to ask for a full size so partially my own fault. Also, the tram runs right outside the hotel, which can be heard throughout the night (not enough to prevent going to sleep though)

- Small, "protected" shower area in the bathroom. There is only a small glass part to protect the rest of the room from water splashes, so you have to be quite careful, otherwise it is wet everywhere. Luckily it also dries up fast. - Constant, little noise in the night by what I assume is some water/heating pipe. - Small tea assortment at breakfast, only black and green tea.

Breakfast was fantastic. The hotel is very clean and the staff are extremely helpful. The hotel is very well located with a tram line stop around the corner from it. I would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Sometimes I could hear the tram passing early in the morning, personally it did bot bother me too much.

Great location near downtown and next to the castle. Hotel is typical Thon Hotel which is a good thing, as we've been in three of those and we're quite satisfied with all. Good standard, offering a good breakfast. Staff was super nice, especially when we decided that we want to change the room quite close to midnight.

Parking is quite expensive, even though very close in a public space. Be careful with 9th floor rooms, exhaust of aircon on a nearby building can be very noisy, needed to change our room due to that.

The room was spaceious and clean. The staff were super nice. The location is great and we could walk everywhere literally. The best part is breakfast. There are so many great options. Also the breakfast time is till 11 which make it easy and flexible.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The room is clean, comfortable and cozy

Receptionists are unpleasant and not so efficient. If you need information not related to the hotel, ask someone on the street. The Norwegians are very, very nice and will be happy to help

The property was in a great location, very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

We had to change rooms because the bathroom was too small in the first one. I am 1.88m tall and couldn’t use the bathroom sing without banging my legs on the toilet. The manager sorted a new room for us very quickly.

Everything was good, the hotel is very nice and located just in the city centre is very near to best locations to visit, some of them you don't even need transport. The city tour from hotel is wonderful

The small cafe in the first floor is not working in the first half of the day. so if you have some working meetings you should go somewhere else
