Be Playa

I already was in the hotel some years ago. It is well located and still as good as I remembered. The room was big with a nice Jacuzzi and the staff was really friendly. Loved the pool on the roof. Breakfast was nice with enough options.

A little problem with warm water. It is cool to have a Jacuzzi but wasn't able to use it that much as most of the time I had cold water. Same for the shower. I had breakfast included, and it's okay for me to leave some tips to the staff, but this should seriously be included in the breakfast price. The feeling isn't the best to start the day stressing over tips.

Room was big, bed was comfortable. The rooftop pool was a plus. Jacuzzi in the room and a hammock on the balcony were nice. Most of the staff was nice, a couple of bad apples though. TV would have been great but it did not work. Most importantly the room was quiet and I had a good sleep in this hotel every night.

The cleaners did not clean well enough, even after I asked to do a better job. There were a lot of little bugs in my room. Breakfast service was too slow. Would be faster if guests can get some things themselves. Waiters never remembered to bring milk with coffee. Some waiters were slow and rude. Some were ok. Master suites did not have refrigerators before you asked that they bring one. It should be there automatically, who wants to drink warm water?

I wish I could live in that room. BOOK IT!

super minor: there was no ac in reception

The service is what made the experience all the better. Absolutely loved the staff. If it wasn’t for the staff a solid 7 just because we did see one dead roach and sometimes the amenities in the room didn’t work as properly as we liked. Loved the location breakfast was lovely and of course staff was cherry on top.

Just the amenities I do feel like the building does need some updating. I also felt that our breakfast server could have been more friendly he wasn’t a bad server. He was very attentive. He just was serious.

The room was immaculate, and beautiful. At checkin, Angus walked me to my room and showed me all of the amenities. The hotel phone system wasn't functioning, and so he gave me his personal WhatsApp in-order to reach him directly. Then, throughout the weekend he attended to my every request.

Provide more linens inside the room. With the hot tub and the shower, the towels get used up quickly. The staff were more than willing to provide more when requested, but it would be nice not to have to ask. :)

The staff were fantastic, especially Angus! He helped us a number of times with things like needing to do a little laundry, finding out where to get Covid tests, and other little things that made us feel well taken care of. Thank you Angus! The roof bar staff were also great, really friendly and welcoming. The location was good and I liked the decor of the room.

The layout of the master suite was really weird. The toilet was in the bedroom, hidden by frosted glass walls, which meant you could basically see the person using it. The bathroom sink was then in the middle of the room, the size of a kitchen island, but weirdly despite it's size, it didn't drain very well and also leaked a bit onto the floor. There's a big TV but you can only watch it from the Spa tub. It was kind of hilarious, we had a good stay, but I'd recommend choosing the junior suite if you like a bit more bathroom privacy...

Really comfy bed. Nice room. Good air con. Exceptionally clean throughout. I really like the location. Rooftop has a nice vibe - music, comfy sunbeds, bar etc. Reception staff mostly super friendly - helped me find a taxi a couple of times and answered questions regarding rooms. I extended my stay twice here and would definitely stay again.

Breakfast wasn’t great. Slow and not especially friendly service. Coffee or food totally passable but not great, so I ended up eating elsewhere most days. I would suggest improving the quality of food, drink and service at breakfast time. I didn’t find the pool refreshing because of its size so personally I went elsewhere most days for the use of a bigger pool. When quite busy the pool also looked kind of dirty from people’s sunscreen, which put me off. Can’t necessarily be helped but if there was a solution I’d suggest that this hotel tries it. Because of the location it can be a little noisy, particularly from cars and road noise. (They can’t do anything about this, It’s just in case you’re a particularly light sleeper. It didn’t affect me too badly.)

I liked everything about this hotel. The staff was so kind and accomodating--actually they went above and beyond. Always asking if we needed anything. Very helpful. I really enjoyed the comfort of the rooms and location. The upstairs pool bar was so much fun and the bartenders were so kind and social. Really enjoyed my time here that I would return. Actually we ended up returning at the end of our trip because we were staying somewhere else for the last nights in another area and disliked the hotel so much we had to return back to BePlaya. Did I mention they greet you with a Welcome Drink card that you can use upstairs at the Rooftop bar?! This place was beyond my expectations and close to everything!

I liked everything.

The room was perfect. Same as on photos. Room is quiet even with a busy street under the windows. Stuff is friendly and helpful. I asked for a fridge and they gave it to me right away. Unfortunately no kettle in the room, I bought my own in Walmart. Location is a "party" zone, I didnt know what is 5th aveny before but still I enjoyed my stay. Jacuzzi is amazing, balcony is nice, breakfast was good. Recomend you to try potatoe toast with avocado, its amazing :)

I really enjoyed my stay here. It s the perfect place to stay in Playa, with a great location and great people working there. I have particularly appreciated the kindness of Angus at the front desk, the professionalism of Melissa and Paola, the crazy cocktails of Pablo and Elio at the rooftop, their playlist, the cleanliness of the rooms, their nice style with the orange LED under the bed and poetric writings on the brushed concrete of the walls. The Sushi downstairs is amazing with 50 % discount on Tuesday and Sunday if I remember correctly (the vegetarian sushis are amazing;). The rooftop atmosphere is so smooth that people outside the hotel even pay to stay there during the day :)
