The host was amazing. She gave us great meal recommendations that were close by. The bathroom towels were more like sheets! They were fabulous! she also had the softest rug in our room. She has a buffet breakfast with cereals, fruits and yogurt. She also served a hot breakfast starting at 8am. unfortunately we had to get on the road by 7:30 so we didn’t have it. She was sweet enough to make us some tea and toast to go with our cereal and yogurt. The location is great-just far enough out of Birr to be relaxing and close enough to get to town quickly. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely little break. We were there for a wedding nearby and the facilities were excellent. The showers were lovely and the breakfast was fantastic!!! including the homemade scones! I am glad I chose to stay here instead of a hotel. It had the most peaceful surroundings! Thank you for making our stay in Birr such a nice memorable one. The room was large and had everything you could want for a short break. Tea/ coffee facilities and a hairdryer. The rabbits leading up to the driveway was so so cute!

The breakfast was brilliant, I don't usually eat in the mornings but could not resist Carmel's super super omelette. There was a wide variety of food on offer. Lovely friendly atmosphere, really great value for money

I am not sure if it was made clear at booking, that the budget room meant not ensuite bathroom, I may have missed it, but if not then it needs to be clearer as I am an older woman who needs to pop to the bathroom in the night time. For other people would not have been a problem as it was next door to the room and spotless.

The whole experience was lovely. We wish that we could have stayed on longer but it was only an overnight stop on the way to our next destination. The breakfast was hot, fresh, and delicious! Our hosts were so welcoming, accommodating, and very helpful! One of our favorite trip experiences would not have happened if we were staying elsewhere.....and the farm animals were a real treat! I would stay here again (and hope to in the near future) without hesitation!

I loved everything! The only thing that I would change would have been to stay another night! We will return.

Excellent breakfast. Lovely location – would have loved to have explored the area (historical interest) but unfortunately we did not have time.

Everything was perfect. One very small criticism – bedside lockers could have been a little bigger but they were charming – great attention to detail and to having everything looking very nice. Very good taste and very artistic. Full marks to the owner!!!

Carmel is a most excellent host. She has thought of everything to make her guests feel welcome and comfortable. This is a true find. Surrounded by the rolling open countryside and only a short distance from the beautiful historic town of Birr, The Ring Farmhouse represents exceptional value for money. Everything speaks of quality - décor, bed linens, breakfast ingredients - everything.

A lovely location down a quiet lane and surrounded by countryside the host was very kind and helpful the bedroom was really of a high standard and a goodnights sleep was never out of the question in the morning after a really good nights sleep a great breakfast was enjoyed.

Nothing at all we enjoyed our stay immensely all the boxes were ticked.

We were in town for a Christening and had the loveliest time. Carmel gave us a very warm welcome and we felt right at home.

The location is very special! The house is tranquil and peaceful, surrounded by nature. The rooms were spotless and the beds were very comfortable. We especially loved the breakfast with a view. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we’re in town.

Absolutely GORGEOUS breakfast, freshly baked scones, coffee, perfectly poached eggs on hot toast. Gorgeous. So clean and tidy. Beautifully comfortable bed, blackout curtains. There was a full blown thunderstorm and I slept through it, midnight to 9am, I can not remember the last time I got so much good quality sleep!

It could not have been better

Nice location off the main road in view of the Slieve Bloom mountains near Birr town. Welcomed by Carmel and offered fresh milk for the tea facilities in the room. Medium-sized room but good for the price. Warm and peaceful, very comfortable bed. Delicious healthy breakfast.

The bathroom was not en-suite but this wasn’t a major problem as it was very close by.
