Park Hotel am Berliner Tor

We booked a studio style room and it was pretty good - large, with wardrobe, fridge, coffee machine, modern TV and double windows, with blinds. It is on a quiet side of Hamburg I would say, but still quite close to central train and bus stations, as well as to suburban train and metro lines. There is a big department store nearby as well and plenty of cafes.

The beds are a little old, especially the mattresses - definitely need to be updated, as they were failing in corners. Not so much that it disrupted sleep though, to be fair. Saw a bunch of negative reviews on this hotel before booking but decided to risk it nonetheless and was pretty happy with the results. It seems like it is a hit-or-miss here when it comes to rooms. I recommend booking a studio if you can

It was well situated near Berlin Tor station and so easy access to city in 10 mins.

The room needs more light because there were 3 desk lamps and one ceiling light near the door. Arriving in the Winter when it was already dark, meant unlocking and unpacking cases was more difficult than expected. Rather like working in a dimly lit cave. The shower was very small but it was clean and warm. The bed was a bit hard for my back and it took three days before I slept properly.

The hotel as a parking garage and is very close to station Berliner Tor ( maybe 3 minute walk). Room 606 is big enough, very clean, and quiet. The extra facilities in the rooms are good (tea, coffee, slippers, shoe polish set, etc). The breakfast is very good.

The hotel room was warm, but opening a window helped. Maybe in the summer it will be too hot, since the room doesn’t have an air-conditioning.

After reading negative comments from recent guests, we had been a bit sceptical. Therefore, our delight to find your hotel really great and most of all 'value for money. Will stay in April again for a week. Our advice to prospective guests, don't listen to comments with a purpose to be completely untrue and even hurtful

maybe a separate shower. Nothing else

Location- 2 min away from the subway and tram station Berliner Tor. It's only one station from Hamburg Central Station or 2 stops until the Old Town Hall. The rooms were clean, warm. The bed was very comfortable. The cleaning is made each day, if you request it. It's definetely a 4 stars hotel. We didn't try breakfast, as there are plenty of choices outside.

Room was a nice size. Staff were fantastic. Food at the restaurant was amazing. Perefect location with the underground nearby to reach the centre in minutes.

Just nit-picking here... The rooms weren't as quiet as I had expected, but this still wasn't much of an inconvenience. My room was also quite dark which wasn't helped by the dark furniture, etc.

Location was great, right by one of the main train stations. The foyer was really nice, and it was nice to have an opening window in our bedroom.

The shower was really hard to use with the strange folding doors, and it was hard to not get water everywhere. A kettle and some coffee in the room would have been handy.

Excellent location just a few metres from an underground and S-bahn station, a couple of stations from the very centre and on the line to the airport; friendly and professional staff.

Rooms are relatively small but still OK if you travel alone.

The hotel was quiet. The reception staff and the guy running the small restaurant were really friendly and polite. The steak in the restaurant was surprisingly good. The bed was very comfortable.

The hotel is generally speaking a little old.

A safe luggage store for an early arrival. Great value comfortable room on all counts. Quiet with no disturbances.5 minutes from the U and S bahns.

No bar open when we were there and none close by but with the transport network that was not a bother.
