Moxy Hamburg City

Great hotel for short or longer stay. The interiors are hip and fun. There's a nice sitting and bar area downstairs. The room itself was compact but had most amenities. I really appreciated how soundproof the rooms were, you could not hear fellow travellers late at night, fortunately. The staff was accommodating and helpful.

The room's closet facilities are limited, so if you bring a lot of clothing you won't have anywhere to put it other than on 4 (?) hangers and the rest in your suitcases. At night, the downstairs area can get crowded and loud as people go there for the bar, so it's harder to work there when needed. The nearby station is currently surrounded by construction, so the way there is longer than normal, and there is some construction noise outside

Nice and clean, good breakfast. Very nice staff. We arrived earlier than check in time, exhausted after 10 hours trip. Were able to have a room and get a complementary drink. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Nice TV, you can easily stream from your phone and chill after a long day spent sightseeing. And: it was quiet for sleeping (absolute must for me). Good connection with only 7-8 mins walk to U/S-Bahn station Berliner Tor (you get there faster than Google estimate). Area seems safe, with several hotels nearby.

Last breakfast croissants weren’t fresh.

Great hotel. All new and fresh. They have a decent breakfast too and the location - while not straight in the center - is in walking distance to the main station and right next to subway and light rail.

Bit more storage in the room would have been great. You got 4 hangers, that's all..no shelves or closest. The shower had an odd issue with the temperature fluctuating. You could still take a shower but it wasn't 100% comfy. Finally, the single bed mattress moved around during the night. Guess only if you put them together as a double bed do they stay in place. That said, these were minor details and the overall stay was great.

Amazing style - it's funky, modern, pleasent to be in. Definitely for young (or feeling young) people. Great design - reception, lounge, elevators, rooms. Nice location, near metro station and local train station which makes traveling easy.

Reception is combined with bar and breakfast area which generates a bit of chaos. Very small space for breakfast results in huge line waiting to get a plate. One day it was impossible to find a table for us. Also - I saw how scrabled eggs are made in... oven :D C'mon, get a pan, it will be less dry. There was some issue with payment - they charged my credit card, but kept the amount blocked for the entire month after checkout. If you have lower limit on your card - that might be a problem.

Location is great - around 2 minutes to Berliner Tor station, where you have several S-Bahn and U-Bahn lines (including the one from the airport) and buses at your disposal, and in 2 minutes from there you get to the Central Station. Very spacious room (perhaps for the price of missing wardrobe - there's a "grid" with hangers on one of the walls, for us worked well). The room was well climate-controlled, despite around 27C degrees outside it felt really chill inside. We were settled in a rear part of the building, so it was quite, no any external nor internal noise distractions. In general, new building with new facilities in very good conditions. Quite diverse breakfast with various types of bread, pastries (even pancakes and waffles), jams and honey, yogurts, cereals, hams (though only one type of cheese), sausages, eggs and vegetables (limited) and fruits (fresh and processed). The closest supermarket is not that nearby, but in the hotel you can buy some essentials, like snacks, drinks, hygiene items, etc. Fun bonus - there's a kickertable in the lobby. Overall, very good experience and I would definitely consider choosing this hotel again should I be back to Hamburg.

To my taste, the pillows were too big. Scaring queues during the breakfast (as many other reviewers have already mentioned - try to avoid peak times). Not a deal breaker, but to have a small kettle in the room would be great.

Close to the metro and bus stations, easy to get to the central railway station and back. Grocery shops are fairly close too. Windows are greatly soundproofed. AC worked and wasn't too noisy. The shower is strong enough for Germany (able to wash off soap from your skin within some reasonable time). Restaurant is ok. Staff is friendly.

No kettle in the room. Shower slide doors could use some cleaning. No proper table and no chairs, though you can go sit and do some work at the restaurant downstairs.

The staff was exceptionally nice and supportive. The reception was rather informal and the whole atmosphere was relaxing and modern. I very much enjoyed the Moxy way of leading a hotel, much more up to date and less old school. I will make sure to check out other Moxy hotels in other cities. Thumbs up for Moxy!

Our room was not exceptionally clean. It was okay I would say. We arrived just before Easter and the cleaning ladies were very busy. The standard room is small and there is no cupboard. If you need more space I would book the next category.

I love how spacious my room could be! Stay for a week but everything seems alright since the beginning, the staff, room, and easy access to station, just 5 minutes away from Berliner Tor, I can just mobile whenever I want.

Breakfast is fine actually, but sometimes on cheese and butter section where they also put ham and turkey, they placed ham on turkey's site. Its alright, but since I'm allergic to red-meat, you need double-check whether you get turkey or ham.

Attitude of staff was amazing! Nice, professional, funny, good vibe and helpful. Place is very nice with lobby where you can have a drink, dinner or just sit and talk and enjoy the good vibe there. Very nice and stylish hotel with good service and comfortable rooms.

A small wadrobe or a place where I could leave my clothes would be nice but probably it is taken as a place where you dont stay for too long so that you dont necessarily need to put your clothes out of your suitcase :)

Hotel looks great inside, although you don't have desk in room, you have a lot of places in the hole where you can sit, plug in your laptop and work. Breakfast was great.

Location is not too good, you could find hotels closer to the center for same price. Also, there is no grocery store close to the hotel, but you have train station 1 km away so you can go wherever you want. Also, I recommend to install "hvv switch" app on your phone, you can buy public transport tickets (for example with one daily ticket you can take train, subway, bus or even a boat) and also you can rent scooter, car or take MOIA (taxi-van).
