Riu Plaza Berlin

The Riu Plaza is a fantastic hotel. Our room was spacious, sparkling, quiet, had great A/C, and had a grand view of the city skyline. It's modern and its amenities cater to tourists and business travelers alike. The breakfast is huge and varied. The parking garage is on-site and secured; although it's many flights up, it leads straight into the hotel. Bus and U-bahn stations are within two minutes from the door. The Kurfürstendamm and KaDeWe are blocks away. Great restaurants are nearby, too. MAKE SURE that you dine at the Elefant at least once during your stay; it's a four-minute walk. The neighborhood is reasonably quiet and quite safe. I will definitely be staying here again; we loved ti so much, we extended our stay.

One mattress was rather lumpy, but the other was fine. The hotel wasn't much help, but flipping it over did the trick.

That we booked a room which specifically said one double bed and first night we got 2 double beds, staff incisted that via booking.com the room we get could be either one, but sorry this is a lie, the booking.com option we took certainly let us choose the type of room and it was with one double deluxe bed, we got it the next day so no big problem, but something they have to work on. And is not difficult I think to have sugar and tea and coffee bags for the morning. Hotels with less stars and name do this.

Everything was perfect. Comfortable beds, lovely facilities. Very clean. Perfect location. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby and also the u bahn station very close.

The only thing I’d highlight is that the parking is very tight. Low headroom for larger vehicles and very tight ramps. My vehicle knocked the headroom barrier going in, but of course by then I was already in and had to make my way to the 12th level as advised by the hotel. (Later learned I could have parked on any level-wished I knew that as I’d have stayed in ground level!) I do have a large Discovery 5 though and did manage to make it without damage (but with a few extra grey hairs) but worth bearing in mind if you have a taller vehicle

Good location and standard, i regret not taking breakfast on the first day. It does not dissapoint and there's many things you can eat. Overall v satisfied. The rooms are very detail orientated and you even get a hair dryer with proper power (2100W+). You even get a rotating chair if you want to work.

The parking is on 11th+ floor, if you want to leave and enter the parking often (like every day) you'll be annoyed with the time it takes to get there. Especially if your car is very wide. The passing between floors is very narrow and it makes it hard to manouver with the car. Overall not a big deal, if you plan just to leave your car or use it rarely.

really nice staff, great cleaning, amazing location in the gay neighborhood, close to 2 ubahn stations, big rooms and bed, nice shower, fast internet, safe and fridge in the room, fast and multiple lifts. my view on the 13th floor was amazing and i was given one of the quiet floors, which i had requested. Luis at the front desk was so sweet.

my biggest complaint are the pillows ! way too flat and bumpy. you have to ask for most toiletries at the front desk but they did give them to you. you do have to leave a 20 euro deposit to use an umbrella but you do get the money back.

While the hotel's location in the center of Berlin was convenient, one area that could be improved is the light infiltration in the rooms during the morning. The curtains provided were unable to effectively block out the bright sunlight, making it difficult to sleep in. It would be beneficial if the hotel could invest in blackout curtains or blinds to ensure a more restful experience for guests.

Location of the hotel is great, close to U-Bahn, walking distance to ZOO, shops First feeling of the room when you enter in si "wow" - two toilets, two bathrooms, heating floor, separate bedroom.....but as we know "magic is in the details" and you are surpriced very soon - hey, where are the doors into the bathroom, the light goes int othe bedroom? Why I cant switch between shower types (both squirt together), why shower hose in the bathtub is broken and water squirts all around? Why the bed creaks so much, why the sofa is askew? I know every room is different and we could had just bad luck but lots of details will excite you On the other side, all staff is excellent and helpful, roo mservice is great, breakfast is amazing etc... I would rate it 10 ouf of 10 to had a room that this hotel deserves

lower quality of the room equipment - in the bathroom especially lower quality of beds including mattress Details which make you crazy :-D

right around the corner KDW ! coolest place to shop a fortune ! very nice India restaurant around the corner, a turkish bakery w friendly staff, and the famous restaurant Gnadenbrot that was extremly cosy and relaxed no tourist rip off. the parking lot was a pain and for crippled guest like me it was annoying they let us walk around the whole building because the shortcut backyard was not "allowed" - stupid excuse like little britain "computer says no.." tv set working fine, wifi working fine. room clean and tidy but 3rd floor only allows you to watch your car in the car park....

Everything in the room was maintained and in working order. Modern, clean what you would expect in a hotel. The staff were happy and very accommodating. We were asked several times if we were happy with our stay. You can purchase drinks and snacks at reception great range in the fridge. You also help yourself to tea, coffee and milk for free at reception too. This is great you just take what you need. There is a complementary bottle of water in the room which was a nice touch.

The pillows are a little on the thin side but you can get extras if you want and there was already one in the cupboard if needed.
