Best Western Hotel am Spittelmarkt

Location excellant. Few minute walk from the bus stop to alexanderplatz bus 200 and 248. Ubahn station close by too. Pizza shop at bottom of street, cafe at top of street and facing hotel. Cafe facing hotel has a cut through apartments block and couple of minute walk brings you out at supermarket. Also had beautiful meal at bocca felice at bottom of street from hotel. Beds very comfortable. Kettle, hairdryer in room and lovely bathroom. Excellent budget hotel.

I think it would be impossible to describe how satisfied we were with the hotel we chose for our 8-day Berlin holiday. First of all, its location is close to Alexanderplatz square (we can say that it is the center that is constantly passed by) with the U2 metro, as close as 3 stops. However, due to the current metro work, it is necessary to get off the metro at the Klosterstrasse and change platforms and transfer, which I think is the only annoying moment. The hotel is simple but very stylish, its cleanliness is simply wonderful, the staff are helpful and friendly, we felt at home for the first time in a hotel. As it was early to check-in at the time of our arrival, we were able to spend the day walking around by putting our luggage in the lockers in the luggage storage section. Despite the possibility of daily room cleaning, we only asked for 2 times, the beds were very comfortable, the pillows and duvets offered were suitable enough in minus temperatures. We did not have any problems with the heating, it is possible to control the sufficient temperature with the central system, the windows can be opened and the towel warmer in the bathroom was wonderful. We will remember the pleasure of bathing with the hot and abundant water flowing from the shower :) The floors were carpeted, but we did not have an allergic problem because it was clean. The only thing we were looking for was a mini bar in the room, the snacks and chocolates we bought melted a bit in the high temperature of the room. However, we were able to deal with this issue by keeping it cool on the marble in front of the window. Lemon or mint water served every day with a large seating area in the hotel lobby was a very kind detail. We did not take breakfast to explore the city comfortably, but I can say that it looks very nice. There is a kettle in the room and when you need tea and coffee again, they give you at the reception if you request it.

The room was very very clean, the staff were very helpful and let us borrow a plug adaptor as we forgot ours. I liked how there was a person at reception at all hours also. I thought it was a lovely place and the location was brilliant, would defo go back there again

I didn't like how our bathroom got very wet as it was a wet room for better accessibility (the only room they had left with two single beds was a disabled room) which we didn't need but we were given that rather than a regular bathroom so it was a bit different but it wasn't anyone's fault, just the way it was. Additionally, we thought our room door was locking but realised it wasn't, the guy at reception was very helpful though and advised us we just needed to really slam it to make it lock- so that wasn't the best but it was sorted.

I only stayed for one night but I found everything to be really good: The bathroom is spacious enough, I got a little desl with tea and coffee and a place to store my luggage. The breakfast is pretty decent for 16€ if you didn't book the breakfast when doing your reservation. The area for brerakfast is very big and personal are nice.

I booked this hotel mainly because it offered parking for guests, but it wasn't explicit that this came at an extra 20€ per night. Also, it could happen that they run out of parking spaces, as their parking area is quite small. Also, to get to my room I had to travel through many different halls and open heavy doors. I had heavy luggage and my hands weren't free. No one offered to take the luggage to my room so this was pretty annoying after 24 hours of travel.

This is a 3 star hotel and based on the category offers a lot. Hotel is very well situated, just next to the metro stop Spittelmarkt (line U2). By foot you can reach majority of the tourist attractions too. Near the hotel you will find several restaurants (traditional, Spanish, Italian, Asian, bakery etc.), supermarket, small shops (spatkauf). Breakfast is good, everything is fresh and good variety. You will find tea and instant coffee in a room for free, and refill is upon request for free too. A/C can do the heating and cooling, rooms are clean and ladies clean the room every day perfectly. WiFi is good, but TV is useless. Beds are comfortable as well as the pillows. Sound proof from the outside noise is great. You can leave your luggage in the lockers in the hotel for free before or after the check in/out.. TIP 1. From the airport you can arrive directly by train S9 to Jannowitzbrücke (3.80EUR, 50 minutes ride) and than 17 minutes walk to the hotel.

Please note there is no fridge in the room, so during summer it can be an issue. The area in front of the hotel (street and parking) is very noisy because of the rude guests (not a hotel fault). You have to keep window closed in order to reduce the noise (in summer can be a problem). Also the guest makes noise in the rooms and in the corridor, and soundproof does not exist at all, but this is the situation in every modern hotel.

Location was alright, as was quite central to alot of tourist attractions, however struggled to find food & drink places.

A lot of places (food & drink) were not British friendly. I.e. menus & menu advertised was not available in English. Also didn't realise there was a bar downstairs as the majority of the reception was undergoing some part of refurbishment which wasn't mentioned at the time of booking. I also thought that when the cleaner, came into clean our room and replace with clean towels, she would have thrown away any litter lying around.

Stayed one night, pretty good. The room is clean, there are all amenities, kettle, tea, coffee. The breakfast is varied and also good - 16 euros. The location is excellent. There is subway near 5-7 minutes. Museum Island is 15-20 minutes walking. The personnel was helpful and friendly.

The room could be renovated. The shower faucet was broken. It was a big inconvenience. For 100 euros per night, I would certainly prefer better conditions. Soap was only for the sink, there were no supplies in the shower.

Location is perfect to visit Berlin. By foot you can reach the core city center. Otherwise, it is right next to U2 line, which goes basically everywhere important for a tourist, which cannot be reached by foot. The hotel room was big and spacy.

I was hoping for some really small mini fridge, where I can cool my water before going out in the heat. Generally my fault that I didn't pay attention to what was available in the room. Also you get the wifi access for a limitted time, can connect maximum 3 devices, and the last day you need a new password, which was a little annoying.

Clean room with basic facilities (coffee, tea, kettle). Good location - near an underground station which facilitates travelling with luggage and not too far from Alexanderplatz by walking as well. Couple of supermarkets/cafe nearby with food. Quite value for money.

Room was a little on the smaller side. Was travelling with a friend so had 2 suitcases, one full sized and one cabin sized. Could fit the full size on the luggage rack in the room but barely had enough space to open the cabin sized one. Would be perfect size for a couple travelling together though!

The room was splendid with quite a view and certainly very clean. As a bonus, the hotel is located nearby Aleksander Platz which I could get anything I wanted. It is a 7 minute walk from the SpittelMarkt U stop. Totally recommended for comfort and touristic spots.

The only thing that I did not like was that the breakfast was quite expensive, considering that in other hotels that I have stayed( either in Paris or London) the buffet they offered was less expensive and the food quality was good. Other than that, all good.
