Courtyard by Marriott Berlin City Center

The room was specious and sparkling clean! The cleanest shower area amongst all other hotels that we have been recently! The staff were very welcoming and helpful! Especially the 2 restaurant staff at night (originally from Afghanistan) that served us dinner at the outside area were very nice and super professional with great recommendations about food and desserts :) Location was ok. There was scooters and bikes outside at the hotel entrance where we used to get where we wanted but it’s also a 15-20 min walking distance from major tourist attraction areas.

The breakfast is not worth it. The scrambled egg tastes really weird and bad! You can pay way less and eat a really good breakfast at a cafe outside of hotel and enjoy going to a different one every time and pay way less! But to be fair, they had water bottles available at breakfast for free!!it’s somthing that you don’t find free in Europe 😏

-good location, but you still need to walk 5 minutes to the nearest bus / or subway station. the city center is a 10-minute walk from the hotel. -nice breakfast area, good food, and many options, but you get bored with the available choices if you stay more than 3 days.

- There is no actual cardboard for the close, there are only some hangers to hang your coats and open cardboard with 4 hangers! - The carpet was made of hard plastic hay or straw, it wasn't comfortable to walk on it and there were no slippers provided in the room. It would actually mark your body when I sat on the floor to pack my bags. -There is only one chair in the room! so it was a bit difficult to eat in the room, as one of us have to sit on the bed! - There are some towels but they don't provide robes. - coffee was available in the room (Nescafe) not real granted good coffee. -The hotel doesn't provide water, so we have to buy them from the reception area (expensive) or walk 10 minutes to the nearest cold store and carry them back to the hotel.

Eside from the house keeping, the hotel was perfect!

We arrived for 11 days! The toilet was'nt clean enough when we arrived. There was dust on the shelf where the towels are placed.. When we arrived, the shower gel tank was not full, 4 days later, the tank was emptied, but not filled for two days (we used shampoo in the meantime) until I had to go down to the reception and ask them to refill the shower gel. The reception staff were very nice and smiling, but it would be nicer if the staff in the dining room smiled back.

Since we prefer to walk everywhere as tourists, every time we return to the hotel in the evening, the comfort of the beds, the cleanliness of the room and the friendliness of the staff were excellent. Breakfast is 10 out of 10!!! Perfect!!

The only thing we didn't understand was that when someone closes the door of their room on the same floor, all the walls, our room door, our bed head were shaking like an earthquake, and that was very scary. Especially while sleeping. Also, we could not understand that there was a gap under the room doors. We could clearly hear his voice when someone passed through the corridor. This was the only negative side of the hotel.

Great location - ideally situated close to lots of public transport Close to a number of visitor attractions also - we could look out of our window at the original line of the Berlin Wall.

Had some issues with the shower leaking and twisting when we tried to use it. The leak from the shower head was fixed when we reported it but when the shower was turned on it fired water at the walls and was very difficult to use without twisting it around the pole.

Positive: Location. Big hotel. Nice view towards the street. Modern and safe building. Friendly staff with good english. Safe parking inside hotel for about 50 euro/day. Comfortable big bed. Large room. Umbrella and iron in the room. Dinner at restaurant with not high quality.

Negative: Empty minibar, you have to buy and fill it. Poor tv channels. Uncomfortable pillows. Little trouble with air-conditioning. Expensive poor breakfast, same all days, recommend combine with other hotels nearby sometimes. Reception does not always answer the room calls.

The location is truly great. Walking distance to any number of desirable destinations. Everything about the room was spot on: size, amenities, comfort, design.

If you are looking for an immersive Berlin experience, this is probably not the place you want to be. It is really more of a business lodging than an experiential place to stay. Also, the lounge and bar lacked any real character so there was nothing that made me want to spend some time in the building.

Location was great and employee’s were lovely. Really comfy bed!

First day housekeeping came at 8:30am after we had arrived late the night before. Thereafter housekeeping seemed to happen in the afternoon which was better time wise but only partially (bed made and fresh towels) but general cleaning didn’t feel to happen each day. Also leaking showing (reported as soon as it happened). Our room also backed onto same level offices in the building opposite which was very close and people could see into our room.

The sound-proof windows. The hotel was directly by a rather busy street but with the windows closed we couldn't hear a single beep. Honestly very pleasant.

The wifi speeds left much to be desired (this might not be so much a problem with this hotel as it is with this country - Germany simply doesn't have the best internet unfortunately). Airplay did not work either - whether this was due to the wifi speeds or because the settings to allow for this had been blocked by IT I couldn't say.

The hotel was very comfortable, with a high standard of accommodation and breakfast buffet. Good variety and quality. Efficient catering and waiting staff, despite it being very busy. Easy 30 min walk across to museums on museum island, which was our main reason for visiting Berlin.

Clear parking access instructions prior to arrival would be helpful, including access to hotel lifts directly from car park (as it is not straight forward as at this hotel)
