The staff were welcoming and helpful, especially at the reception desk, giving us advice on the food to order in advance as we are vegetarians. The breakfast was very nice with lots of variety and very fresh and appealing. The room was quiet and had tea and coffee making facilities and the bathroom was clean and well planned and comfortable as was the bed. We used the bar before our evening meal and our dog was allowed to sit in the area which was great.

The car park was quite crowded but that was probably because the hotel was popular with people taking the ferries. This was a minor issue,

Access to this single storey hotel is far from straightforward and the SatNav really has to be believed! It is situated close to the English Channel which can be seen from the restaurant. We were made to feel very welcome with comfortable and practical accommodation with Wifi available throughout the hotel. English is spoken. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant serves a no frills evening meal. Parking is in the hotel grounds. The Ferry Port is but a few kilometres away but a minimum of 30 mins is needed to reach it due to possible traffic problems. This hotel is well priced.

Great welcoming staff, decent free car park and an onsite small bar and restaurant. Comfortable beds and linens and a good shower. The breakfast is continental but has meats and cheeses and boiled eggs, lots of fruit etc. In the evening there is a set menu for dinner which is good value and tasty if you don't want to go into town. Quiet neighborhood.

The bedroom doors all slam heavily and can wake the whole place up. Its a good 25 minutes to walk into town

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shelder Hotel, and I must say that the experience was exceptional, thanks largely to the outstanding staff. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed with genuine smiles and impeccable hospitality. Throughout my stay, the staff consistently exceeded my expectations. They were incredibly attentive, always available to offer assistance. What truly stood out was their ability to anticipate my needs before I even expressed them. Whether it was housekeeping accommodating my schedule or the concierge arranging last-minute reservations, their dedication was evident. The genuine care and attention to detail displayed by every staff member turned my stay into a memorable experience. I can not recommend Shelder Hotel highly enough.

Cute well located small hotel very close to the sea and convenient for the ferry port. All the staff were welcoming and helpful. I travelled with 2 small dogs and had a great ground floor room opening onto a small lawn. Well decorated, clean and comfortable. Easy to walk along the promenade into Cherbourg. Great restaurant and small bar on site which served home cooked dinner and a decent continental breakfast. Great choice if you are travelling or visiting the area.

Very easy access to the coastal paths for excellent walks. Dog friendly. Home cooked food. Only a few miles from the port terminal. Very friendly staff who readily understood and responded.. English spoken very well. Very quiet hotel. Breakfast was cheese and cooked meats, eggs or pastries and cereals.

Cherbourg is a nightmare at present with the roadworks causing mayhem, not the hotels fault obviously, hut a 5 minute drive took us 45 minutes to get to the hotel. These are major works. Shower was unable to be adjusted for height so kneeling down was best way to shower. Hotel response to the issue was swift when we notified them on departure. No tea making facilities in the room. Room felt very cramped, bathroom was small and difficult to get into the shower and out of it as shower screen was fixed to the bath.

Comfortable room. The hotel is well situated from the Cherbourg ferry and is an easy drive to Calvados and Northern Brittany. On Friday there is no Restaurant but the planches offered are well worth exploring, though there is a good restaurant about 150m away. Plenty of parking and a good breakfast. I would happily stay there again.

Warm welcome from the staff who were very agreeable and professional. Lovely very copious dinner (nothing fancy but still very good). Basic room but perfect for just one night. Nice to have a secure car park, too.

All was fine but we were welcomed and served by one member of the staff who was wearing cotton gloves all the time. We noticed he was sweating a lot which made us wondered if he had Covid. Oddly enough, 3 days after my husband and I tested positive.

A very nice and quiet place, away from the noise of busy streets with a sea view from the terrace where you can sit and eat on warm days or drink coffee. Very nice and helpful staff. The double room I used was not very large, but for me it was comfortable enough during the trip to rest. Of course the room had a bathroom. Very clean and tidy. The hotel is located on a very quiet street and is just a few steps to several grocery stores, a bar and other shops selling various goods. The sea is also about 200-300 meters away from the hotel, very close. I sincerely recommend and will certainly use this hotel in the future. Greetings to all the staff. Thomas

I didn't notice anything that would negatively affect my stay in this place.

Had a good vibe too it, clean and for the money had basic amenities but every cent was worth it. Bed is firm but comfortable, clean sheets and pillows were comfortable and supportive. Tea and coffee supplied in rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful even though we don’t speak French.
