Fairfield by Marriott Busan

it was a really good location, just a short walk away from the beach and food was easy as there were plenty good restaurants everywhere. The hotel is also near the airport / busan station bus route, so that is really convenient. Cleanliness was why we looked for the Marriot group as the bed bugs infestation was starting in S. Korea and Fairfield did not dissapoint

The staff was struggling with the onslaught of visitors for the weekend. They seemed inexperienced and were having a tough time dealing with customer registration. It was chaotic and took much too long. I did not expect of the Marriot chain. I felt that the front line staff would have benefitted from having a senior, more experienced manager to lead. All i saw were young people struggling to cope with no strong leadership

The beds and pillows are very comfortable. Location is centrally located at Haeundae, easy to take taxi to various places of interest. Around 45 mins taxi drive from the airport. Multiple convenience stalls around the hotel and it's 5 mins walk from Haeundae Market. Staff are friendly and they always have at least one staff who speaks very good English. The gym is small but comes with a bench, reasonable weights and yoga mats. Value for money.

The shower area and toilet is located side by side and awkwardly sharing the same door. The hooks for the towers or clothing are outside the bathroom. So for aquaintence or friends, taking a shower means you have to rely on the middle door that segregates the room from the basin and shower area. Room is on the small side. If you spread 2 middle size luggage, there is no space to walk.

I enjoyed everything about our stay at the hotel. We had to book the trip at the last minute and then we had to drive 5 hours to make it Busan for our meeting the next day. Getting to the hotel late was not an issue. We were able to get parked and checked in easily and quickly. The room was amazing! I loved all of the little details from the moment we walked in. The placement of the bathroom and closet. The large window and the king-size bed was so comfortable. We rested well and were able to get a quick breakfast before heading out to our busy day!

I was a bit disappointed in the selection of the breakfast food. I felt it could have been better for the price. The dinning area was nice and clean and the staff were helpful.

The staff and facilities were great. The beds, pillows and blanket/duvet covers were all very comfortable. The large shower head was a great bonus. The hotel is a short walk away from Haeundae beach, the traditional markets and Gunam-ro where you can find amazing options for food and bars. The metro station is a 10-15 minute walk away. The water taps and air gun found outside of the entrance to blast the sand out of our shoes after visiting the beach was great to have.

The roller doors to separate the sleeping area to the wet room and toilet is something that I personally was not a fan of.

Wow! After quite a bit of traveling and staying in hostels, this hotel was soooo luxurious!! The room was incredible, size of the beds and how comfortable they were. The shower was both perfect pressure, but also options of rain or standard shower-head. We had a great view and received a complimentary breakfast too when we checked in. I would definitely book to stay here again, but also any other Marriott if this hotel is the standard they use!!

All the facilities, room and staff were great, but being a traveller and needing to do a bit of housework, I used the washing machine and dryer facilities offered by the hotel. I found the prices very expensive for something that could easily be offered at a better price. Also, great instructions for the washing machine, but I had to guess at the dryer. I know most traveller will not be bothered by this, but it meant I had clean clothes and not taking a whole load of washing home with me when I did fly home a few days later :-)

It was good value for the money. I am not a fan of old hotels, no matter how prestigious they are, with old decor. The Fairfield Marriott's clean, minimalist look suits me and I especially like the little touch of the wash basin in the middle of the room. The location of course is superb. 2 minutes walk to Haeundae Beach and the Traditional Market. In fact not too far from the Camellia Park.

I think the housekeeping could be improved a bit. They didn't wash the cups I've used and on one of the day, I noticed, they didn't even make my bed. Also, there is currently construction across the street. Funnily they didn't make too much noise except for when they start at around 6am!

The rooms are not spacious. We had to move rooms because of noisy neighbours. Not just the next door neighbours, but the whole floor was noisy doing karaoke in their rooms until 3am. We had ear plugs and noise cancelling headphones and still could hear them. The breakfast wasn’t to my liking.

The breakfast was great and the location was perfect. Everything you can think of is around the corner on a strip. Restaurants, bars, convenient stores all in one area.

No microwave in the room so I had to eat all my food in one sitting and I didn't realize it until I bought a box of chicken and wanted to save some for the next day but seen that I could not heat it up the next day. That's my only complaint. Everything else was great!

Sure the room was small but well equipped with a comfortable bed, powerful shower, Nespresso machine. Staff friendly and spoke English. Free breakfast given (maybe a promotion?). Close to the beach and market.

Air conditioning a bit noisy. It's not that I didn't like it but the rooms are cramped, this is a place to sleep, not to hang out and entertain. I already knew what the view would be so not a complaint, but to describe the room as having a 'partial sea view' was a rather creative description!

Staff at reception were extremely helpful with all my queries and questions. The room was superb - very good size with all amenities and very comfortable. They accommodated my special requests - thank you very much!

The breakfast options could be improved, but it was great that the hotel provided a complementary ticket for the first morning.
