Toyoko Inn Busan Seomyeon

Excellent location. About 5 min walk to the nearest subway station & 3 min walk to bus stations. Near to a lot of restaurants, there is a shopping mall opposite and also a convenience store right beside the hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful, all of them can speak English. Excellent facilities, room is clean, you get everything you need in one room. They even provide humidifier and minibar in the room. Heating can be turned on from the air conditioner, which is another plus point. Cash-operated washing machines and dryers are available near guest restrooms at the lobby. Very affordable prices and does the job well. Water dispenser and microwave oven can be used for free at the lobby. Other necessities that are not provided for free can be purchased at the vending machines. Provide very good breakfast with different menus every day.

Everything was great EXCEPT the check in and check out timings. Check in time is very late at 4PM, while other hotels we stay in South Korea offer 3PM. (Note: Toyoko offers 3PM "early check in" exclusively for members.) Check out is also too early, which is 10AM while other hotels usually is between 11AM-12PM. However they're kind enough to allow baggage storage before check-in & after check-out which makes it less of a hassle. Breakfast timing is very early as well (6.30AM-9AM).

· I stayed in both Haeundae and Samyeong locations and here's a resume - Haeundae is way better location. 5 minutes and you are on the beach! - Breakfast at Haeundae was better, had more options (even cereals with milk). - the view in Haeundau was way better than Samyeong too - Breakfast is served from 7 to 9:30 compared to 6:30-9 and 7-9:30 over the weekend in Samyeong. - Semyeong is closer to train station / airport Similarities: - Coffee was very good in both locations - Both have washing and dryers, for a super good price - in both you can store luggage before and after checking in/out - both rooms were very similar, not too small, not too big, desk, good wifi, small but great bathtub. - both have a 24/7 convenience store nearby I'd choose again Haeundae over Samyeong

Rules are a bit too much but i think it's Korean standard, in both: - check-in late (16:00), check-out very early (10:00) - must say at the beginning when you want cleaning in your room, otherwise you get towels every day - have to specify to bring every 2nd day if you don't want them. Also you have to not be in the room from 10:00 to 16:00 if you want the cleaning service - they also bring you a small bottle of water every day, could save the plastic given there's a water fountain in the lobby

this could have been easily a 10star review if it wasnt for a few things. the room was decent size for price and area, good bathroom, and good location if you want to explore all of busan, very close to bus and metro stops. the breakfast and the breakfast staff were very very good, really enjoyed the korean style breakfast. the room was clean, slippers provided and basic toiletries. there were laptops downstairs you could use and washing machines for 2000won. we got 2x bottles of water a day.

check out at 10am and and check in at 4pm is rubbish, as other people say there is 0 flexibility on the 4pm even if your room is ready. breakfast ends at 9am this is super early if you have had a long day of travel and want any lie in. there is no do not disturb/please make my room sign. if you want your room cleaned you have to tell the front desk and then your not allowed to be in your room between 10-4. I have never had a hotel be like that before, seems very silly.

Breakfast was decent, staff is speaking English well and rooms are nice and clean. It’s location is really good and easily accessible via bus and subway.

The pillows were a bit uncomfortable and the room was relatively small but I think that’s the standard in Korea

Although the room was small, for a single person it was quite manageable. I stayed for 7 nights and I was very comfortable. I was asked how frequent I would need cleaning service and even the days with no cleaning, clean towels and a bottle of water was left on the door. The location was quite central and metro was accessible (5-10 mins of walk). I took line 2 for 40 minutes to reach BEXCO. Great value for money.

The breakfast was limited for a person who is not familiar with Korean cuisine. More options can be provided for international guests.

The property is a Japanese hotel chain, located in Seomyeon, near a lot of restaurants, cafes, lively streets, and the center, which made for some very pleasant walks and exploring. The staff at the front desk are very lovely and helpful. The room was clean, the bathroom as well, and the only one we had that had a separate shower area, unlike all the other wet bathrooms we came across during our trip. There are a lot of buses around and even more within a 10-minute walk, and the metro station isn't far away. The room had basic toiletries, an electric kettle, and a hair dryer. We would stay here again.

The breakfast was mostly Korean/Japanese, so it was filled with some heavy foods that are not for everyone's stomachs. We opted for having breakfast out on two occasions, as the most basic thing they had was toast and butter/jam. The air conditioning in our room was of difficult operation and it turned cold randomly even when we set it to hot according to the specifications left on the desk in the room.

- Incredible value for the cost of the room - Location in city is great for food, shopping and metro, plenty of cafes around and metro short walk away to access other places in Busan - Easy to get to from train station (metro or taxi) - Clean and comfortable, plenty amenities and staff very friendly - Complimentary breakfast was a great benefit and was varied and tasty

- Bit dated and room a bit compact - Breakfast area is quite small so did have to queue if go at peak time 8/830 (but after the first day we went around 7am and was plenty space)

Location: it's about 10 minute-walk from Seomyeon Station Exit 10 (this exit has an escalator) or Exit 12 (this one has a lift) . Because the streets are rough, it's not easy to pull a big luggage. I tried exit 8 and there are stairs. it's too hard for me to carry my big luggage. :(. However, there's a big shopping mall and many restaurants, pubs just across the hotels (about 5 minute walk). There is a convenience store next to the hotel. Hotel: free drinking water and ice provided near the reception, luggage keeping service is available. Room: perfect for myself. There is a bathtub, shower, shampoo and body wash inside. Bed and duvet are comfortable. Breakfast: it's really simple just some Korean food like rice, baked eggs, kimchi and western food like sandwiches and jam. Some juice are orange juice and lemon juice.

The hotel is not really close to Seomyeon Station. It took me 10 minutes to walk from Seomyeon Station and the streets are rough so it's hard for me to pull my big luggage to the hotel.

Overall the property is good. Rooms were quite smaller but its sufficient for 2 people specially considering the budget View was nice from window.

Staff at reception barely speak and understand English, which caused a bit problem for us on Day 1. We took taxi for hotel, and unfortunately, our card didnt worked in taxi machine, and we were short of cash. We requested at reception if they can help us to pay cash and we will repay them, but hotel staff refused , we were kind of stuck in that situation badly . Through translator we managed somehow to ask them for help. Although this is not hotel responsibility, but If some foreigner got stuck in such situation, a little help would have been appreciated.

It is in the midle of Seomyeon. I can't think of any location that would be better for a vacation in Seoul. The subway station is only a short walk away. The room is spacious, and had a great view. And the highlight of the room, there was a fancy japanese toilet washlet thingy. There was a small buffet for breakfeast with some korean dishes and toast. For 3000 won you can use the washmashine and dryer on the first floor.
