Avenue Motel Palmerston North

The private spa pool was what attracted us in the first place and it did not disappoint. A four seater in a small purpose built room off the kitchen. The proprietor was helpful and the unit clean and tidy. We had a two bedroomed apartment which was spacious. We were thankful for the heat pump and electric blankets. There were lots of spare blankets and pillows in the wardrobe. The kitchen was well stocked and catered for 6 people. I especially liked the empty cupboard in the kitchen as there’s often nowhere to put food. The mall is in easy walking distance. The units are back off the street and we didn’t hear any traffic. We’d happily book again.

There are a few small areas of maintenance that need attending to - strip below shower and the toilet roll holder, for instance. However, it felt like maintenance is usually well attended to and I’m sure they’ll be sorted out quickly.

This motel would have to be the best I have stayed in by far. The photos live up to what is expected for your stay. Friendly staff, comfortable, clean, tidy, quite & well looked after rooms. The beds & pillows were super comfy. We are a family of four & stayed in the family room with spa for a night. We will definitely be back to stay. Thank you! 😊👍

Loved everything, Nothing I Didn't Like

We have stayed at The Avenue Motel many times over many years and is our place of stay of choice. The motel is set back off the road and as such is much quieter than many other choices of accommodation. Importantly, The Avenue is only a short walk from the mall where you have many shops including Countdown. Similarly, Pak N Save is about the same distance away. I have no hesitation in recommending this motel to anyone looking for a central, pleasant and quiet stay in Palmy

staff are very accommodating. place clean. complete cooking utensils. best shower facilities. easy parking. close to city, very convenient.

the only thing was housekeeping came and we requested if they could come back later as we were still getting ready to leave. However, when we came back that night, the room was not serviced. it was not that big a deal but thought i will just mention. overall, it was a great experience.

Good size rooms. We all really liked how there a 2 separate rooms to the lounge as most places we stay the main bed is in the lounge/tv area. Comfortable room

The only thing would be we had our own spa which was great but it didn't heat up so the water was Luke warm. Was hoping it would be warmer by morning but it was despite turning the temperature up.

Very clean and comfortable beds, I love the Hot Tub very convenient Especially for couples wanting to relax and chill with a wine or 2.

No BBQ facilities, would have loved to use the BBQ facilities during one of my stays. Would have preferred it than eating out but none the less we used the cooking facilities instead.

Excellent Location and surprisingly very quite almost on busy road. Reason an Eye Clinic in front, the Motel behind. Never heard anything during the day or night.. Reception Manager very Helpful. Free washing and drying machines.

Top High breakfast stools Plus top self in Cupboards too high for a 5’ 5 “ tall person to reach plates etc.

Great location close to town. Easy to find with secure, off street parking. Extremely quiet due to being set back from the road. The guy at reception was super friendly and pleasant to deal with.

The sliding doors from the neighboring rooms were quite loud when they were open and shut.

Owners were Lovely and very welcoming. Location was perfect, off the main street, no traffic noise and close to everything. Very central Location and safe. The private spa in our room was perfect for us to relax and the kids loved it. The Rooms are very nice and clean with comfy beds. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a central location, comfy and clean motel. We will definitely come back to stay again.

there is nothing i didn't like everything was perfect and the owner was friendly and easy to deal with especially having a huge booking last minute with multiple different check-in times for those arriving later
