Sakura Hotel Hatagaya

The location and surrounding is more developed. good food around stn.

It does the job. It's a good value for money considering it's around 3 kms from both shinjuku and shibuya by foot. If you enjoy walking, location is great. There are a few stations around 15 min walk max on top of the hatagaya one. The room was really clean and the cleaners did a great job everyday. It was really cheap compare to most hotels around so I consider it a very good value for money. Don't expect luxury and you will have a good time there. The staff is lovely. Rooms are small but it's expected.

The breakfast was only coffee/tea and toasts. The pillow was not really comfortable.

For the price, it was very good. They provided robes, slippers, toothbrushes, and hairbrushes. Our room slept 6. 5 teenagers and an adventurous mom. First, I thought it was going to be a disaster to share 1 bathroom. But it turned out to be a learning experience. Being respectful and patient. Breakfast was simple and fresh. Bread, butter, jam, orange juice, coffee, tea. And the soup of the day. Staff was very helpful. And the premises were clean.

During our stay, they had construction/paint renewal/get ready for rain going on. It's too hot during a day to work outside, and at night, you can not bother patrons. So they start at 8am sharp. And of course we wanted to sleep till 10am. We are on vacation :). Job has to be done.

This was the first of two stays at this hotel during my time in Japan recently, and I had stayed here before this as well. Was really cool to meet a fellow on reception who is from Melbourne, Australia where I live. A nice start to the trip! One great thing about this hotel that I haven't mentioned elsewhere is the distance from the train station is really close. Very handy when lugging bags or crawling home after a night out. If you are after a budget stay in a good location, this is the one!

Staffs are so welcoming and hospitable (they are able to speak English as well). Location was great for the price I have gotten. Have convenient stores and food places (eg. macs & sukiya) just round the corner.

Something that cannot be helped, the location of the new keio line (to get to hatagaya) in the Shinjuku station was very difficult to locate (Shinjuku station is overall confusing) but 2 days was all it takes to get used to get around it roughly.

I like that the cafe downstairs is 24 hours so if you get hungry in the night just go downstairs! There is also a family mart and lawson close by! Hatagaya station is also just a short walk away.

There's not much I didn't like. If I had to choose, I wish the toilets had a bidet function. The step up into the bathroom as well as in and out of the tub were a bit difficult. Just mind the difference in levels.

Thought this would be a young backpackers place and we would be the only family staying here but I was wrong! Lots of dif age groups/families staying here. Super friendly staff, with shops, coffee and the train station right on your doorstep. Can’t fault the peaceful location or the helpful staff. Maybe slightly on the pricier side for a family room but it maybe appropriate for the area. Only 2 stops from Shinjuku which was great. Highly recommend!

I liked the old school vibe of the hotel and a good price. Also a corner room had a proper amount of space despite column in the middle of the room. It's close to metro and shops so there is not more needed.

The corner room had photos taken in a way you didnt see the column in the middle of the room :D there was no heated toilet which was a little dissapoitment after a month in japan.

All the staff members were super nice, polite yet friendly. Very helpful as well. So close to the Hatagaya station, very convenient. The food at the restaurant was excellent.

The hot water system got damaged so we couldn’t take a shower for 2 days. They reimbursed half price each day, meaning a whole day price for 2 days though. Over all the facility is pretty old. We heard the water running pretty noisy all the time.

My 2nd stay within a week.. good for 6 of us in a room. Friendly staff. Hotel located near e train station. You hv family mart..mc donalds n Supermarket very nearby.

Only restaurant its not halal certified.. its just muslim friendly.. as i saw there is pork in e menu....1 main reason choosing this hotel cause its said its a halal restaurant in e hotel itself....but....nope
