Katala Suites and Villas

The suite we stayed in was of high quality with comfortable bed, great decor, excellent air-conditioning and everything you could need. The central pool is small, but pretty quiet. Most of the time it was very peaceful with just us or another couple using it. We didn't eat at the restaurant (breakfast & lunch only) but the menu looked great. All the staff were lovely. We would definitely come again. It's an easy walk to the main street and beaches.

Our family of 4 had 10 nights in a 2 bed room villa. We absolutely enjoyed every second. The staff were so so lovely. The pool was amazing, so clean. The location was perfect. Not to far for our 5 year old to walk to restaurants. Breakfast was lovely every morning. Housekeeping everyday was so great.

like many Bali properties the villa complex has had virtually no business for 2 years and some areas looked a bit tired. The overall design of the complex is good and no doubt it will look better kept as more tourism develops.

We are a family of 2 (a 6-year old and a 10-month old baby) and stayed in a bungalow. First of all, I have to say I have never felt like home at a hotel the way I did at Katala. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. We wanted to stay for 8 nights and ended up staying for 2 weeks. Matteo, his wife, Maas, Juni and all the others are just great human beings. Thank you all so much for making our time in Bali so incredible. Terima Kasish Banyak! Suksma! We hope to see you again soon! + Amazing small boutique hotel + Very quiet, despite being on walking distance from everything you need (Bars, restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, massage parlors,etc. are all ca. 200m away), beach is ca. 800m away + Great pool + Clean room, great AC, stable internet. + Perfect for families

- The breakfast food gets repetitive after a while (we stayed for 14 nights, so that is to be expected), but the food variety at Katala is what you should expect from most hotels in Bali. - The beach is nice and quiet, but unfortunately not the clear blue water we would have hoped (You can go to Nusa Lambongan and other close-by places for that).

What an amazing place. From the moment we arrived the staff and owners were so friendly and helpful greeting us with cold drinks and face flannels after a hot journey. Katala is a wonderful place with its lush vegetation and colourful flowers and decor. We had the two bedroom private villa with pool which was fantastic - all the benefits of having your own villa with the added bonus of daily cleaning, staff on hand to assist with taxies etc and a lovely breakfast at the main restaurant every morning. The villa was very clean, exceptionally comfortable and had everything we needed for a wonderful holiday including good wifi, full water cooler and bottled water in our bathrooms every day, great aircon in the bedrooms and a clean warm pool, it’s a five min walk to a large supermarket and to the Main Street in Sanur with lots of shops, bars and restaurants and a short walk to gorgeous beach. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Nothing at all!

Katala Villas is a lovely quiet complex a bit of the beaten track in Sanur but still a convenient central location about 5 minutes' walk to the Artasedana (formerly Hardies) supermarket and the main street. Small and private with only about a dozen rooms, most of them single bungalow style. Well-kept gardens and pool area. Loved the outdoor shower with our room. Helpful and thoughtful staff who were always there with a smile and quick to respond to our requests. Decent size pool. Big enough and deep enough to swim laps but not too deep for those of us who are not confident swimmers. We have been visiting Bali for 40 years and stayed many places but this was our first time at Katala. One of the best for mid-range holiday accommodation.

Struggling to think of something...no, nothing.

Katala Suites and Villas is a hidden gem.Mateo and Rika are wonderful hosts they make you feel at home. the staff are very helpful and friendly, they discretely serviced our suite daily. The property is maintained to a high standard, with lovely gardens around the suites, it’s a quiet paradise, perfect for relaxing.Our suite had everything we needed to have a great holiday, the bathroom had an outdoor shower, it was wonderful. We found it easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants. We highly recommend this property and will definitely be back next year.

We don't have a complaint. In the reviews people mention that Katala doesn't serve dinner. But you can order any diner everywhere and they bring it to Katala. You can eat the food you ordered In the restaurant of Katala. Mateu and his Staff give you everything you need for your dinner: plates, spoons, knives, forks, glasses etc. Great service! The staff are fantastic, everything you need is taken care of. The rooms are very nice with a high Bali-style roof, an ample discrete terrace, an inside sitting area and a good-sized fridge. Great aircon, a safe and a good bathroom. I especially like the outdoor shower, as birds sing nearby while you shower. The decor and gardens throughout the property are very tasteful. The swimming pool is good, with enough loungers for everyone. It's a very peaceful place, about a 10 min walk from the beach, and 5 mins from Sanur's main street. I guess it would suit people with very young kids, or empty nesters.

Euro breakfast was OK. But nasi/mi goreng was great.
