Appart-Hôtel Mer & Golf City Bordeaux - Bruges

We enjoyed the large balcony and nice view of the lake. It cost 10€ per night extra to get the lake-view but it is absolutely worth it! The hotel is very dog friendly and our dog enjoyed the balcony too. Parking is available for free outside the hotel, but you can also rent a space in a garage under the hotel which is roomy and easy to access. The bathroom and the bed was both great. The cleaning ladies were very friendly and helped out with more toilet paper, towels etc when asked. The hotel was a great base for our explorations of Bordeaux. There are two tram stations each about 700 meters from the hotel and bus stops closer than that. The area around the little lakes is perfect for dog walking.

The kitchen equipment could be better, old worn pots etc. There were no wine glasses (but we could borrow a pair from the bar downstairs).

The pool is super clean and really nice. The appartment is spacious and clean. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The supermarket is right next to the hotel. The Lake beach is a 5-10 min walk away.

The Sofa Bed is very, very uncomfortable. The hotel shoold look at updating these. The hotel website says you can pay extra for more towels so we didn't pack any towels, but the hotel would not allow us to get extra towels to use for the swimming pool. The hotel breakfast is overpriced for what it is. Hotel food in general left us underwhelmed so we only had one breakfast and one dinner there. The walk to the tram stop is quite long, and the street lights turn off around 11pm. Hotel should leave salt, pepper, oil, coffee etc that previous guests leave behind so that new guests can use them.

We booked 2 rooms for our family of 6. A comfort studio & a 1-bedroom apartment (for 2 adults, 2 children). Both apartments were nicely furnished and had spacious balconies with beautiful pool and lake views. There is free parking available so it was not necessary to use the paid parking. There is also a supermarket in front of the buildings which we found very convenient. The location for us was excellent, it was only a few minutes away from Aushopping Bordeaux Lac (Mall), and within an easy reach of most points of interest. The staff at the reception were friendly (and we usually didn’t have an issue with communication in English). The housekeeping staff communicate in French, however we usually managed to get by and we were happy to at least get a smile & friendly Bonjour!

Despite that there is a pool on site, unfortunately we didn’t use it during our 13 night stay. Our stay happened to fall during the extreme heat wave period, and there were only very few sun beds which were never available and there also weren’t any umbrellas provided for the guests. As our party also included kids and grandparents, it was too inconvenient so our recommendation would be for the hotel to provide more sun beds & add umbrellas which will provide its guests a more convenient and better experience to enjoy the pool. The other issue we think could be improved was to reduce the cost of the laundry facilities which are charged at €6, which is quiet costly when you need to do several loads. Or perhaps could be offered complimentary for guests staying longer than 10 days ..?

Room looking over the lake as requested. Reception ordered our taxi to go to a James Blunt concert and got us there on time. Have stayed here on several visits to Bordeaux and have never been disappointed, such a comfortable place to stay Always will be my first choice. 😄

The restaurant not being open from midday to closing.. Had to go out at 4pm to get dinner before travelling to concert.

The room was very clean and tidy. we four of our family stayed and we had two large beds. the beds and sheets were absolutely clean, having got the room with Lake view it was very relaxing with beautiful views having a small kitchen helped us to cook out own food. At 2 minutes walk there is a large supermarket where you can buy grocery, and drinks etc at affordable price. There is ample space of free parking.

Well equipped and very clean. Excellent location: 5 minutes walk from the beach on the lake which had many free activities, 10 minutes walk from the tram making it very easy to access Bordeaux city centre. Super friendly and helpful cleaning staff.

Maybe slightly more plates and cutlery as it would avoid to run the dishwasher half empty. Hidden cost if €10 per night if you want a lake view, well worth it but would have liked to be aware of it beforehand. While night reception staff were super friendly, day staff were only helpful to a certain extent…

It location was great for a dog friendly hotel. Lovely walks around the lakes nearby (literally just off the hotel terrace!) parking was great, right outside although it does get busy. A shop just across the car park with sells everything you might want when travelling. We were sad to only be staying one night, next time we will stay longer, and there will be a next time for certain!

Staff were lovely, the shop located on site was fantastic to have and had a great selection as well as having on site choice for places to eat. Swimming pool was lovely and location of apartments was in a pretty spot.

Other places to eat are a good distance away and need to use public transport. Public transport is available within a 10/15 minute walk.

The location was beautifully peaceful and picturesque. It is quite a walk to the tram stop, so not a suitable place for those with mobility issues. We provided our own breakfast and enjoyed the view of the lake from our balcony as we ate. The Reception and Restaurant staff were friendly and extremely helpful and very professional.

Due to unforseen circumstances, we were in Bordeaux 5 days more than the weekend expected. It would have been useful to have laundry facilities on site.

Rooms were spacious, modern and clean. Beds were comfortable. Had a kitchenette and balcony. Good for families when staying in interconnected rooms.

Need more entertainment for kids like a billiard table or foosball table or video games or something. It was very corporate'ish.
