Novotel Brussels Centre Midi

Spotlessly clean, well presented and very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location, directly opposite the Gare de Midi rail station with swift access to all public transport.

Very small issue but it would have been preferred to have an iron and ironing board already provided in the room, instead of having to ask for one to carry back to the room. No criticism of the hotel itself but the train station entrances always attract high numbers of vagrants/homeless who are drunk, drugged up or both. Granted we were never approached by anyone directly but it's quite intimidating nonetheless. Sadly this is a real issue across Brussels centre generally; moreso than a lot of other cities.

I got upgraded to a business room, so I'm not sure what the standard rooms are like, but the hotel was thoroughly cleaned and room maintenance was up to date (no rusty bolts or peeled paint anywhere). The room was very spacious, furniture was comfortable, I had sufficient outlets to charge my devices and I was able to get a great nights sleep. Staff were extremely helpful. I would definitely visit again.

The gare de Midi areas is very dodgy in general, this is out of the hotels control, I knew the area where I booked so I won't hold it against them. Definitely watch your pockets once you exit the hotel.

The rooms were quite spacious The block out curtains were very effective.. too effective in fact we ended up waking up late 😅 There was a table, chair and stool in the room A wall fixture with five hooks to hang clothes etc The bathroom shower and bathtub was good in that the floor didn’t get wet. The staff were very friendly and helpful and obliging 😊 The distance to the mannekin pi’s, grand plane and gallery st Hubert was about a 15 minute walk Train station was two hundred meters away … which was very convenient

There was not quite enough cupboard space for two of us Two very narrow deep shelves which were quite useless One very high upper shelf Hanging space ok Could have done with a few hooks in the bathroom The area where the hotel is located is quite grotty with a lot of dubious characters hanging around .. not that we had any problems .. just the vibe

Staff were amazing so friendly and accommodating

The area is rife with drug addicts and pick pockets and the taxi drivers will literally take you in the wrong direction charge you triple their quote for the journey and when you type it in your own Google maps and show them they are literally taking you for a ride they become very aggressive so we ended up having to get out of the taxi after paying 50 euro for a 20 min ride in the wrong direction and flag down an out of centre taxi who was much more trust worthy

The hotel is located about 5 to 10 mins' walk to the Brussels Midi station. Makes it easy to catch the train from airport direct to the hotel and/ or connect to other parts of town via the metro. Quite a few restaurants around the corner and a Proxy supermarket nearby too. There's a also a huge Sunday market just right in front of hotel which sells lots of fresh produce, clothes, etc.etc.

Nothing much to dislike really, except that there's lots of walking to do from this hotel if you're exploring places by foot.

No gym facilities. The location although it’s close to the MIDI station the people in the area looked very rough. The surrounding area was dirty and felt unsafe. The experience of walking from the MIDI station to the hotel (hotel was walking distance) was horrible as lots of homeless people and there were human faeces and pee everywhere.

Great location, come out of gare du midi and its across the road to your left. Really comfortable room good size, plenty of space around the table and windo. Didn't feel cramped. . Working mini fridge great for keeping drinks cool. Location makes it so easy for getting into the cenre of Brussels and from the airport(25 mins and 8e) as most trains stop at gare du midi or zuid(same station)

Loved everything about the hotel really. Like a lot of Brussels the hotel has limited services on a Sunday no bar and i think the restaurant was the same. But to be honest it didn't bother us at all.

Room & Breakfast was good

The hotel didn't provide clearer instructions regarding surrounding parking limitations because due the weekend market. Which meant my car got towed and i had to pay the fine. There is a sign at reception but again the sign does not provide clarity on the actual road limitations. Ideally they should have provided a map of the areas not to park and avoid their guest on parking fines. This would be the best information that the Hotel knowing that their own parking space is also limited.

Good location and next to the metro and train station. Good parking at a reasonable price. Nice staff.

the location was close to the train station, that being said, it was not a very good area and neighborhood. Sunday market in front of the hotel and being so so crowded was not convenient.

Most important fact for me, is that the Hotel looked pretty clean for me. The size of the room was good. Bathroom was OK. The Breakfast had not a big variety, but since it had some important for me stuff, I was fine. Overall I think it 7/10 stars worth, which would be fine in this price range. So why give 10/10 stars? I think the professionalism and service of Cristina at the reception is worth an upgrade of 3 stars: so 10 stars, that it for me.

I think the usage/desing of the toilet button, behind the lid, could be improved.
