Mermaid Waters Hotel by Nightcap Plus

It was well located between Robina Town Centre and Pacific Fair. The beds were reasonably comfortable, but a little softer than I like. The room was spacious and clean and with my booking I got 10% off my meal, plus a free drink and buffet breakfast. It was ideal for a short stay as I could check in, walk down to the pub for a nice meal, and have breakfast ready in the morning. It made my travel very easy and I enjoyed my stay.

The duvet on the bed was too hot for the room, I wish they would use lighter blankets or similar as it was hard to get to sleep. You could hear people quite clearly in the hall, but thankfully everyone was respectful and all noise had ceased by 10pm.

Just about everything - Breakfast - Helpful reception staff - Clean - Comfortable - Nice, relaxing pool available - Having the Pub/TAB next door & attached is great. Yet the hotel is completely separate so you don’t hear any of that noise. You’re not above the pub, you’re in another building that is attached to left of the pub.

- Remote for TV is a bit weird. It’s like 3-4 seconds behind - I understand they have a policy of not making up rooms every night. However I believe it’s important to restock the body wash & shampoo. You are only given a small bottle of each that is enough for maybe 2 washes. The above are little things. Overall this was an excellent stay & I would look to book here again if coming to the Gold Coast.

The two things I care about when I travel is a comfortable bed and cleanliness. The bed was really comfortable which is not always easy to find at the moment!! So that was awesome. Breakfast was included which was handy (although likely built into the cost) and the pool area was really nice. Close to Pacific Fair shopping centre and Putt Putt.

I was disappointed with the cleanliness. When I walked into the bathroom, the toilet hadn't been cleaned, there was sticky substance around it and there was mens hair on the floor - although the rest of the room appeared very clean, seeing this made me feel like it wasn't.

Absolute value for money. A free drink upon arrival, 10% off food and drink during your stay and includes a free breakfast.

I thought the "fine" print about having to pay a $ 200 bond was a bit steep. You need to look for this while making your booking, so be aware. This can hurt the hip pocket of you stay in multiple motels/hotels during a trip. Just stay 3 consecutive nights in different hotels, and it could set you back an extra unaccounted $600 before getting the money refunded, which could be anywhere up to 5 days (5 nights could cost anywhere up to $1000 extra). We did find some damage in our room, so I made a point to highlight this to staff, including taking photos once we checked in, I didn't want to lose my bond should they decide I caused it.

Fabulous find! Spotlessly clean, with a buffet breakfast, plus great restaurant with 10% discount if staying, and good value even without the discount. There's a free wine, beer or coffee plus free bottled water as well. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The room and ensuite were spacious, the bed very very comfy- had a wonderful sleep! And free WiFi, that works 😜 The pool was sparkling, large but the weather was a bit too windy & cool. Staff were really helpful and friendly. For those that like pokies- they are onsite, with a Dan Murphy at one end of the facilities. There is plenty of parking and easy access.

My extended family and I recently stayed at Mermaid Waters Hotel for a long-awaited family trip. Given the size of our group, we had to split into three different lovely rooms, but that didn't stop us from having an amazing time. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped to accommodate our large family. The beds were comfortable, and the housekeeping staff kept everything in perfect condition throughout our stay. What stood out the most, however, was the hotel staff. They were extremely friendly and attentive to our needs, ensuring that we felt welcome and well taken care of. The breakfast served every morning was perfect, with a wide variety of options to suit everyone's taste, from fresh fruit and pastries to hot dishes like eggs and bacon. The quality of the food was top-notch, and we looked forward to starting our day with such a delicious meal. One of the highlights of our stay was the surprise birthday gift they prepared for my cousin. The staff went above and beyond by arranging a small celebration with a cake and personalized birthday card. It was a lovely gesture that added a special touch to our family trip.

Sound insulation was abit of an issue: Room was located next to a store room, and there was noise at night when the staff accessed it Room was also down the hall from the event space, and the music could be heard in the room when trying to sleep (was able to be drowned out enough by the air con to sleep) Bed was one of those mattresses where they combine 2 smaller ones, so the middle space bowed abit Secure parking gate was broken when we stayed however staff reported it was being fixed

When I checked in the greeting was excellent. The girl at reception - with a French accent - remembered me from my previous stay (3 months earlier). I find that level of customer attention surpassing what we have become used to by a large margin. Excellent! When my family and I went to breakfast the next morning, the highly engaged girl on duty made everyone in the room feel special with her enthusiasm and attention to detail. My family were extremely impressed. The service feels personal. This is too rare in the modern age. This hotel remains our choice for any future visit to the Gold Coast.

Nothing was less than wonderful.

It had the tavern attached, plus Dan Murphys next to it. It had room service (tavern bistro), secure gated car parking for guests, the room was spacious, buffet breakfast was provided in my rate through booking.com, the bed was super comfortable but very soft so if you don’t like sinking in the bed, you’ll probably hate it. Pillows were comfortable, doona was warm enough, decent bathroom and it had a separate bathtub. The room I was in was quiet, and I didn’t hear much from the pub, even on a Saturday night.

Bit old and in serious need of renovation/revamping. The bathroom had cracks on the ceiling and shower, and there wasn’t really any exhaust fan that I could see except for the old vents in the shower. I didn’t like the $200 deposit rule, especially if they already have my credit card details. So make sure you remember this. Always put aside $200 for their deposit. And they only take it out once you check in, not before. I ordered dinner from the bistro to be sent to my room (I had cash) and they got my order wrong. I was already running late so I didn’t have time to send it back.

All staff were very friendly and helpful especially at reception and the bar area. It didn't look much from outside but we were surprised when we got into the room itself. Very clean and comfortable. The extras provided were very welcome, free breakfast which was excellent, free drinks to start with and 10% discount on food at the bistro. Plenty to choose from on the menu but would have liked to see more vegetarian and gluten free options. Good to get secure parking close by.

Nothing much around the hotel to see and do. Seemed a bit isolated. You would need a car to get to the main ocean beach.
