Napa River Inn

Room with great view and balcony overlooking the river but an odd shape because of the shape of the building. Well equipped and we went to Sweetie Pies and were able to get granola, yogurt and berries as well as fruit juice rather than pastries. Plenty of parking outside and the hotel provided a voucher so no charge. Easy walking distance from the centre and good choice of restaurants.

Some noise in the evening from the restaurant next door but it closed at 10pm and we did stay over the weekend.

The room was spacious and clean. The staff were really helpful and catered for all our needs. The breakfast served at the bakery next door is really tasty and offers lots of different options! The location was excellent and met our expectations as we wanted to enjoy downtown by foot!

The sink was in the room, it was a bit weird and every time one of us wanted to wash their hands, the other was awake. Not a huge problem but certainly wasn't expecting it!

I like it’s location a lot, it was close to pretty much everywhere, the staff was really nice. We arrived several hours earlier than anticipated so we went to get some food and they managed to get our room ready very soon. The rooms were clean and neat, the service came and clean again while we were out which I thought was very nice of them. I think me and my family had great experience in this Inn. Unfortunately I was not able take pictures of the room because we turn it into a mess every time the service would come, which again I was really grateful for. By the way the sweets they brought were really good a really nice detail.

I liked a lot.

Location, choice of restaurants a few yards away, Sweety Pies breakfasts, our room in the Hatt building, friendliness and efficiency of staff.

We were staying for 4 nights and the room we were originally allocated was rather dire, overlooked a parking bay and had large pumps or some such facility running noisily on and off all night. We raised this with reception and they immediately moved us to another room in the historic part of the building which was excellent

Great overall facility location-especially enjoyed our room location (220?)- beautiful view of the river from the balcony. Room has a unique layout- very comfortable. Check-In was welcoming, courteous and professional- from the Front Desk clerk to the Bell staff. Maid service was unobtrusive- they checked in with us to see if everything was "ok" - gladly gave us coffee refills- then left us alone.

The Pastry shop where breakfast vouchers were redeemed seemed chaotic- food was good- service/process could be improved. (Wait time seemed excessive and couldn't escape the nagging feeling that somehow they're going to screw up the order. (They never did, I might add, but you definitely got the sense that something could go wrong.)

The location is walkable to so much. We walked to the wine train, restaurants and shops. The Riverwalk area has kayaking, SUP, fishing. The hotel was very quiet, the bed was very comfortable and the linens were luxurious. The gardens were gorgeous.

The included breakfast included two large, sweet pastries. Although they were delicious, a savory or lower calorie/carb breakfast option would have been nice. Perhaps fruit or cheese and one pastry?

Loved the location. Could walk to restaurants, pubs, shops. Location was perfect for our visit.

The room was very nice, but the bathroom was quite small and the doors did not close properly and had a gap. I never felt like the bathroom gave me privacy. There was very little room to open the bathroom door if someone was using the vanity outside the bathroom. Next time I would book a larger room if I am able to. The room itself and amenities were very nice though.

I loved the view from our room and balcony. I could look out on the river and watch it rise and fall with the tide. I was able to bird-watch. I saw merganser from my balcony as well as peeps, cormorants, stilts, and a pied-billed grebe. We sat in front of the fireplace reading, birding, watching the large screen TV with access to our prime video account.

We would have liked a hot breakfast and felt the pastries totally inadequate for the level of hotel. Also, the remote wouldn't allow us to access subtitles on Amazon prime. Other than that, no complaints.

Joan, the concierge, really made this an exceptional trip! She, and the rest of the hotel staff, were friendly, proactive, and had a wealth of knowledge. The rooms were large, clean, and luxurious. The included breakfasts from the bakery downstairs were consistently delicious, and the room service was prompt. We were never nickel and dimed for anything - everything we expected was not just included, but done so in grand fashion. This hotel is perfectly located in the heart of downtown; easy walking distance from a vast array of amazing restaurants and entertainment. It is a cozy little gem, nestled into a beautiful setting, and I cannot imagine staying anywhere else next time. KRS

Down (feather) pillows/duvet. I don't know if this was a standard luxury for our historic room, or if they have down bedding in all of their rooms. Either way, we should have assumed they had down since its a fancy hotel but forgot to ask. Thankfully, hypo-allergenic bedding was already in the closet of our room, and we were easily able to swap it out.

Location is excellent, staff were lovely and the relationship with Sweetie Pies provides a nice breakfast option.

The restaurant Celadon is essentially within the hotel so creates quite a bit of noise during the evening. However they seem to close by 10pm so it's not a major issue and imagine rooms on the other side of the hotel would have no issues so it's only a minor complaint.
