Ivy House Country Hotel

Grounds and location, breakfast in light and airy restaurant with amazing outlook. Staff all very helpful. Breakfast was well presented and plenty of food.

Could do with more staff at breakfast had to keep asking for table items not put out and items to be topped up in self service breakfast. For one waitress to be taking breakfast orders, bringing out food and relaying tables and top up self service is not always possible and hence hot cooked breakfast got cold waiting for cutlery not set.

Every member of staff was brilliant. A business or property are nothing. It's the people who make a business. The staff here were exceptionally friendly, cheerful and professional, they are 10 out of 10.

Nothing really except the pictures in the bedroom were uninspiring, They need replacing with something brighter?

The hotel is lovely, excellent food, staff are very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean, if a little dated, but comfortable.

Lowestoft isn't somewhere I need to visit again.

The breakfast was excellent Plenty of choice and the staff more than willing to customise the choice.My dog was also welcomed at all meals and provided with treats and water, and the staff were great with him. The hotel grounds were lovely and we enjoyed exploring the gardens on our walks. The room was fantastic and very relaxing and very comfortable.

The hairdryer provided! I forgot to take my own.

The room I stayed in very dated and could do with a refurbishment. Noise of chain flushing from room above. Could hear people talking and walking about in room above so not very soundproof.

Football presentation going on all afternoon & evening. Difficult to relax when groups of kids & young adults tearing round the place, shouting, swearing & generally getting up to mischief. A couple of kids around 10 years old destroyed a tree stump causing loads of work for the gardener the next day (where were the parents?)

Location, food & service great. Reception staff very efficient. Size of room & bathroom great

Cobwebs & spider on beams in bedroom. Room a little tired looking in places. Unfortunate early fire alarm call at 6.45am!

The property is large in terms of actual size, 23 acres but small in number of rooms. The main rooms are for functions and weddings. The location is great, very quiet, between Carlton Marshes nature reserve and Oulton Broad. Both easily accessible on foot. The staff are very friendly and the business is family run.

We had a courtyard room which was roomy, the fittings were good the only downside was that the bathroom door stuck and the only light in the bathroom was connected to a noisy fan. We stayed four nights, the menu including specials was the same on the first three nights. On the fourth night a Sunday the menu was roast style. However by the time we sat down at 7.30 two of the three roasts were sold out and one of the starters was no longer available leaving us with basically a take it or leave it option on Roast Beef. Which was a nice meal but not what we actually wanted!

Friendly owners ,very good communication. Room had ample space. Fridge very useful. Breakfast excellent and quickly served. Located in quiet surroundings.

Perhaps if some rudimentary crockery such as knives,forks and plates were in the room it would compliment the already present microwave and dining table ?

Food excellent. Comfortable room and superb bath. Very clean. Friendly staff.

A light on a wall opposite the bedroom was on all night. It shone through the curtains and kept me awake.
