Best Western Hotel Hatfield

The location of the hotel was brilliant for the beach, and local buses stop outside the hotel. Our room was good and had a lift which went wrong during our stay which I found difficult due to back op and using the stairs but things can go wrong. Parking is difficult for this hotel if you get a space across the road.

We did call the hotel Fawlty Towers as the breakfast was so funny as staff kept apologising to guests for things missing, like no yoghurt, no kippers , no rolls as a guy asked for bacon roll, run out of fruit at 08.30 most mornings and all one herd was sorry we haven't had a delivery. Went to get a cup of coffee for the wife and brought it back with a cup on a plate. No saucers and no tea spoons. The toaster took 10 minutes for the toast to pop up. But lunch was brilliant and had 3 evening meals, which were so much better, so everyone go and got breakfast at a nearby restaurant as the service is very poor.

Suite was large and well fitted, except there were no doors on the wardrobe and looked really untidy and very odd! spoilt the beautiful room. Staff were very nice and helpful. Food was nice, but the ubiquitous burgers dominated the menu. Can't these people learn to used cutlery and not eat with their fingers. Off-putting. The ambience in the evenings was very nice, we sat on the terrace after dinner for ages and enjoyed the view over the sea.

The dreaded 3pm book in. The rooms were obviously clean and ready but they kept all of us waiting until the chime of 3 o'clock, and not a housekeeper in sight when we got to the room. We had had a long journey and gave ourselves extra time due to roadworks, arriving earlier than expected. We hung around for two hours with our luggage. Surely if the room was ready they could have let us in. This is a fairly new phenomenon, they always used to let you in if the room was ready. I can't understand the sadism of watching us all waiting, tired and just wanting to get settled in. I felt for the young family waiting with us.

excellent location. rooms were lovely and warm and comfortable. we arrived late and our rooms were upgraded. staff were really accommodating and helpful. perfect place to stay. we hadn’t booked breakfast but ordered separately. great value for money and a vegan option was sorted for me. definitely recommend abs would stay there again

if I have to say anything, there were a couple of broken lights on the stairs and the shower door came away but apart from that everything was great

We turned up in the middle of the night with a last minute booking and the man was brilliant. The breakfast was brilliant. We're stayed in few places and breakfast here was by far the best. You don't just get biscuits with your coffee you get penguins.. Which was a nice touch to the end suite room we stayed in. Everything was brand new inside. And slept like logs and hot water in shower. Was very welcoming and friendly hosts.. Well organised team. Even breakfast had a warm welcoming. Was a very nice experience. Was undergoing some renovations of the house outside to make it match inside and blend characteristics of the house. Beautiful area right by the beach only two road walk away like a stone throw. Recommended it already to a friend!!

Was a pleasant stay can't fault them

We stayed for one night. Our room was clean and refurbished with black out blinds which I appreciated. We had my post birthday dinner here which was good. Bailey's cheesecake was delicious! All staff from reception to the restaurant to the bar were very friendly. The location is very central right on the promenade with plenty of outside seating. Free car park was a bonus and we asked if we could leave the car there after checkout for a couple of hours and that wasn't a problem.

Our room was above the kitchen and a pretty loud extractor fan started up at 6am!

Location excellent. Room with lovely sea view comfortable and clean, staff friendly and helpful at all times. The food was really good, especially the breakfasts !

Tv remote not the correct one for the set so couldnt get subtitles and being a bit deaf I missed a lot ! Also for the same reason, couldn't bring up the programme guide so a good job I'd got my 'What's on TV ' mag with me . The fan in the bathroom makes an absolutely deafening noise which seems to go on for ever, but it does quieten eventually ! Quite funny really when we got used to it !! Being on the front, in full view with the light on at night, the fact that the bathroom window had no blind was a bit of a worry but my dressing gown did a stirling job looped across the window for 5 days ! All minor things I know, and nothing to spoil our stay,.

Took my daughter and her partner for her pre birthday . Was nice chilled. We usually request room 202 as can use lift up. But this time got 212 and 213 which you get out of lift and have steps to climb. Bit of a bummer as bad leg and hip and walk on stick. Plus only 1 room had bath x 1 had shower we swapped with daughter as I prefer bath. I got free breakfast x 5% discount which was handy, then I paid for my daughter. We love it here x try to do a couple of times a year.

Seafront location, although fairly quiet, nice walk along prom. Hotel is always clean and tidy, rooms good sea view (as requested). Restaurant on site serves light bits (small plates/ starters varying, partner choose salt and pepper squid served with tartare and salad, then he had white bait with fries and salad leaves, then I had fish and chips and onion rings, plus we had large Diet Coke each, came to £40.90, very tasty. Sat by window too watch the sea time eating. Staff were all polite and friendly as usual. At reception I requested fan for our room and by time we’d finished meal they’d sorted it

Lovely location, great to sit out in the sun, and at night with a drink overlooking the sea. Room good, large clean and sea view.

First days breakfast totally chaotic, we were forgotten, then my full english suddendly appeared after 45 minutes The white of the fried egg could not be picked up with a fork it was so undercooked. The black pudding the knife bounced off it was so dried up and hard, bacon dried up, no hash brown. Understand why waitress was staring at the plate when delivering it. When pointed out to waitress she took pains to say "we only serve it". 15 mins later a new breakfast arrived well cooked with the addition of a hash brown. 2nd morning breakfast was fine. Ate out for other meals as meal prices seemed steep.

Great sea view as usual with the sounds of the waves all night long. Breakfast super and plenty of it on warm plates. All food well cooked and presented. Staff always friendly and polite. Even when there is no one waiting at the bar for service it is clear that they have pride in their workplace and surroundings as there is always cleaning, tidying, washing dawm table relaying and floor sweeping on the go.

There seemed to be a problem with access to lager - there was always at least one available but during the week the Peroni went off then the San Miguel. Fortunately they returned before the Corona and Bud Light ran out! "Cod" was only availalable on night one of our 8 night stay - thankfully my partner had it on night one but he would have liked it again. We had room 212 for 8 nights. Unfortunately room 213 had a mysterious number of occupants on the last night of our stay with riotous activities all night long ncluding door knocking, wall knocing, furniture moving, shouting, corrridor running, screaming and general nuisance making. Had it been our first night I would have been complaining the next day for sure. I hope they were one night wonders...
