The Gresham Aparthotel

lovely conversion of old Fenwick shop. Very welcoming entrance area which is also a bar. Breakfast delicious and great value. Very spacious room.

On the third floor as you come out of the lift and turn right, then left, the carpeted corridor floor has a sudden small slope which I didn’t see and fell over. I got bad grazing from the carpet and went to reception to ask for a dressing and bandage which they helpfully gave me. I was surprised they didn’t ask me to fill in an accident report as the graze was quite bad. Maybe they need training on accident reporting. Also this part of the corridor should definitely have a warning about the uneven floor. I wasn’t hurt seriously (ie no permanent damage) but it could have been worse especially for an older person.

We stayed in the apartments located the side of the hotel. Private entrance to the apartment, apartments was very clean, provided with the basic essentials. Location of this hotel is perfect, with parking only 5mins.

Lacking one whole double bed, we got two singles stuck together and held with a clamp. I do understand that most apartments have this, but the wife and I kept sinking down the middle. But overall it is not a massive problem.

The place is right into the city centre. The apartment is good and all freshly renewed and everything up to the standard you would expect.

The windows were locked or anyway it was impossible to open and this does not help when the room is hot. Overnight the room was very hot and it was difficult to sleep with the heavy duvet they provide. Second think but also important, the checkout is at 10am!!!!! After a proper Saturday night it is very difficult to be ready for that time and the staff is there knocking on the door at 10:30!!

Great location, a well maintained, highly frequented establishment. The apartment was spacious, well decorated, bed very comfortable and room/kitchen/bath well stocked. The place was extremely clean, sheets too. The towels and pillows were aplenty and a large common/seating space. The gym was a surprise which I didn't manage to visit but sure if must be equally good considering everything else at the hotel. The restaurant seemed popular, brimming with activity at all times. However, the apartment albeit on the 3rd floor was well insulated and quite. I liked that apartment hard very large windows overlooking the street which meant lots of sunlight making the room bright and lively. The kitchen had needed utensils and crockery and the WIFI was very strong in all areas of the establishment. The hosts manning reception desk were very polite and accommodating. They generously allowed me to sit in the lobby and use the space/internet for meetings before checking-in and after checking-out. Special mention to the cleaning staff (a lady with blonde hair - cant recall her name) who was very helpful with answering some questions and helping out.

Nothing as important, however it would've been nice to get room slippers and a bath robe.

Excellent service and location.

the location was central to the restaurant we had booked and to the curve theatre. we travelled by train and it was about a 8 -10 minute walk from the train station. check in was relatively easy as most of the check in was done on line. at morning check out we were asked about our stay I mentioned the lack of sleep due to other establishments noise & noisy patrons, Dominique the girl on reception was quite attentive and took my feedback seriously, apologised profusely and said if we ever come back to the Gresham to email them and she will put some notes on our file to make sure we get a quieter room and a deal to make up for this stay. I thanked her and said it wasn't her fault but I really appreciated her time and her concern.

we had a room at the front of the hotel and although it is doubled glazed I was kept awake intermittently by the noise from nearby bars across the way until 5am so not conducive to a good nights sleep.

We loved this aparthotel. Everything looked new, hip and cool. The apartment was perfect. Had everything we wished for. The staff was very welcoming. On the groundfloor was a bar and restaurant which blended perfectly with the lobbyarea. The restaurant is run by a seperate company (Black steel). Very good food and the service was good. This stay was one of the height of our 12 day stay in England.

Lovely hotel with a comfortable studio. Very clean with a great shower and useful kitchenette. Staff were friendly. An attractive bar/restaurant downstairs.

I noticed that the person in the next door room had heavy footprints which reverberated to my room, when I was in bed. This woke me up later in the evening and early in the morning. The restaurant menu looked delicious. However I noted that they use genetically modified oils for cooking which I am not comfortable with, so I chose to eat elsewhere.
