Beautiful character building and absolutely loved the chapel for the wedding we attended. The grounds were stunning and the hotel is very well preserved and kept. Food was really good, especially the breakfast, both continental buffet and served cooked breakfast. It was an extreme heatwave and we were part of a wedding party and the staff went above and beyond for guests and worked so hard in the heat, especially at the bar. As stated in other reviews the rooms are dated but I’d say that’s part of the charm of the hotel, and exactly what I’d expect, but they were kept beautifully and very clean and comfortable. We stayed in a suite on the top floor but I peaked at some of the double rooms in the main hotel and they also looked lovely.

The wifi situation wasn’t great, had to create an account to use it but never really got signal from it and I was literally off grid for the whole stay but not the end of the world Everything else was spot on and I can’t fault it

What a wonderful building! We only stayed one night but it was an excellent experience. Our room was in the Annexe, simple but roomy. Single beds (requested) were comfortable and the room had usual facilities (en suite, desk, comfy chair, low level lighting, TV kettle etc.). Easy access (parked outside). Staff helpful, and well-trained. Breakfast staff (incl. Kitchen staff) turned out a really good English Breakfast for me – probably the best I’ve had quite a while. And the big bonus was the Templar Chapel next door to the dining room - absolutely not to be missed. What an interesting historical site ! Read up the history (plenty on-line) before you go there, because it’s very interesting (esp. Mediaeval and Victorian) and easily interpreted on site. I grew up in Leicester, leaving at age 18. But I’ve known about Templars in Rothley since a youngster, and and finally explored the place after over 60 years ! An excellent experience in every way.

To write something in this box, how about Black Pudding included in the English Breakfast ! I would not criticise any aspect of our short stay, which was excellent.

Beautiful location, enough room for one person. Everything you need in the rooms

It could of been a little cleaner, I had hairs in my shower /bath which was okay I washed them away but I shouldn’t have too. Stay would of been better if I didn’t have people shouting and running outside my door at 2/3am in morning. I know it’s hard to keep an eye on being in separate buildings but was incredible loud.

gorgeous period property with lots of character and scenic environment. a great varied breakfast with lots of delicious options. friendly, helpful staff. clean quiet rooms and requests for additional items provided.

nobody seems to be at the desk to take calls so I had to keep trying to call to for long period of time to get through. however, staff in general are wonderful. could also do with being able to adjust the temperature in individual rooms, heating seems to be on full wack constantly, so it made for an unsettled sleep

My room was amazing, with its own balcony/terrace. I was able to enjoy the sunshine in my own space and relax properly. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times and the location was incredible.

There were weddings both nights I stayed. It was a little loud and busy but the sound died down around 11 both nights. It is a beautiful, old, building but that meant it took a while for the hot water to reach the bathroom - there was a note about this in the bathroom though so it wasn't a surprise.

An elegant house in a rural location with lots of off road parking. The house has a classic interior with oak panelling, historic stained glass windows and tapestries. the room was spacious and warm and cosy. the staff were helpful and welcoming on our arrival. The food was good with a reasonable selection of choices.

The staff were good but I got the impression that it needed slightly more staff - the reception was unmanned when I wanted to book a table for dinner. However, staff shortages are a nationwide issue facing the hospitality sector.

Everything was excellent, staff, breakfast, dinners and service. only slight mix up with rooms as I had booked 3 rooms 1 for 2 adults, 1 room with 1 adult, 1 child and 1 infant and 3rd room for 2 adults and 1 child, only on arrival the third room did not have the extra bed for the child. but the staff were very good and added the extra bed.

The stairs! my partner is 73 and I I'm 67 and our rooms were right on top floor and it was hard for us to go up and down with infant and 2 children, perhaps going forward, think a bout adding a lift.

Really nice, courteous and helpful staff. Old mansion hence windows, radiators reflected the age-but added to the charm of the hotel. From first entering treated exceptionally well. Excellent breakfast -anything I wanted and very tasty sausage and mash for dinner. If I come back to the area I will stay at Rothley Court again. Stay cost way below what I would expect to pay.

WiFi was down-but not the owner's fault. Also useful if the times for dinner and breakfast were provided in the room. Otherwise everything was good! Lovely location and very quiet.

The staff were lovely - efficient, pleasant and helpful. Rothley Court building was beautiful - full of character. The grounds were extremely well-maintained. Breakfast was very good - excellent menu choices and well-cooked, cooked-to-order hot dishes. The evening meal menu was competitively priced, with tasty and varied options. We loved the extra excitement and glamour of the weddings taking place.

The interior decor was shabby and didn't do justice to the fabulous woodwork and stained glass features. A few coats of paint and some reupholstering, please. We stayed in the annex where the sound-proofing between rooms was very poor.

Excellent checking-in area. We were away from the main area as there was a noisy wedding reception on and we didn't hear it. The room was excellent but due to the rain, a constant metallic drip drip occurred outside all night curtailing sleep. Room 28, please check it outside, otherwise very very good.

Only 1 thing. My Eggs Benedict was dry, overcooked egg which should ooze out when cut, And ham on the muffin when bacon would have been more suitable. But that is all, my wife's full breakfast was delicious.
