Leeward House B&B

Attractive, great location near the high st of Lee-on-The-Solent with a good selection of amenities and just down the road from the beach as well as good road links to other nearby towns. Parking right out front on the driveway! The owner had to go out for a few moments, but on our arrival we were prepared for and an envelope with the key messaged to us so we could go straight to our room and unpack. Beautiful room overlooking an attractive landscaped garden with the added feature of subtle lighting at night. Well appointed bathroom with walk in shower en-suite. Nice clean towels, soap etc available. Very comfortable beds and pretty bedding. Everything in the room worked, that’s not always the case in some places we have been. Good choice of TV channels! Room Service kept things well stocked, such as teas and coffees, milk, biscuits etc. very nice breakfast room, plenty of choice & a well cooked breakfast and good coffee. Staff are lovely and friendly as are the hosts guests every time we have been. Definitely stay again!

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property

Easy to find with parking outside. Owner was really helpful, letting us check in just before lunch. It was a hot day but there was a fan in the room along with fresh drinking water. There was also the usual tea and coffee making facilities. The room was exceptionally clean with good quality bedding and towels. We also had toiletries and a hairdryer. Although the room was pretty compact it was perfect for our one night stay and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was superb with a nice choice of scrambled egg with smoked salmon or full cooked breakfast plus juice, cereal, fruit and toast. Leeward house is really well placed for the sea and the town which has cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes. We will definitely stay there again.

There wasn't anything we didn't like.

Had a lovely welcome from Carol. She showed me my bedroom and bathroom, which was perfect for me. The room was spotless and airy, being as the windows were open!! Being as I was there only for the night I pretty much crashed out on the bed and had a mug of tea and fruit that I had brought with me. Morning time came round and was greeted with a very hospitable and warm hello from the staff. Breakfast was delicious!! Definitely ticked all my boxes! I would definitely go back even if it is just for the night again as they were all very friendly.

The host and family were amazing so thoughtful went out of their way nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was brilliant all fresh cooked to order which was done in super quick time and cooked to the way I like it. If there was one thing and it’s picky as I could not find fault in the whole stay is that a full length mirror in the room or on back of door maybe (there was one at the top of the stairs on landing and the mirror above the desk to be lowered so you can sit at the desk and put your make up on

Everything . The room was furnished to a high standard with a very comfortable bed. Our room overlooked a very well laid out rear garden with a large fish pond. Great size bathroom with a large shower supplied with superior toiletries. The room like the rest of the hotel was spotless , very clean. The breakfast which I had the full English and my partner had the salmon was perfect, great taste and hot, not luke warm. Car parking was available at no extra cost with a bus stop outside which will take you to the ferry. Great location for the high street which boasts some very good restaurants, but book in advance as they are busy. Katherine and Graham, what an amazing couple who own this hotel. We had quite a few conversations at the breakfast and nothing is too much for these guys. Lovely couple and we will visit again as they made us feel so welcome.

Nothing. It was perfect

We had room 5, which has a king and two single beds. The bathroom has a lovely walk in shower and a step up to the WC. hosts were very friendly and the breakfast was nice. There was enough narrow parking in the front for 5 cars, if everyone parked politely, but a bit too precise parking was needed for my reversing skills so I parked on the street. Everything was nice. we had a lovely few days exploring, and it was warm enough to swim in the sea which was clear and the beaches not over crowded. car parking by the beach is really reasonable and plentiful. we also took the Gosport ferry to Portsmouth which was fun. The fish and chippy shop round the corner was another good find ....battered makeral was on the menu! great base for exploring.

There wasn't anything not too like

The staff were lovely, friendly and chatty- made us feel very welcome. They were very accommodating. We had arrived early around 9am. I rang the doorbell just to ask to park there as I know check in was later. They said if my room was the one that was ready then I could come in and it was so they gave us the key. They were all really friendly to my daughters too and made them laugh. (That's not easy especially with the grumpy teenager!) Would definitely recommend. :)

I loved our hosts Kathleen and Graham who made us feel welcome and treated us like you would treat an old friend. They accommodated all our requests with kindness and generosity. Kathleen treated my 7 year old niece like a princess especially at breakfast with especially made pancakes, hot chocolate and treats. The grown-ups breakfasts were made to order and plentiful with a choice of cooked options plus endless cafetieres, pots of tea and juices plus the usual cereals, fruit, yogurt etc. The house was spacious and very quiet. Everything is clean and tidy and the beds are comfortable. There is ample parking on the drive and on the road at the front of the property, and if you don't want to use the car, a very good bus service stops opposite the house.

This is an observation rather than criticism: I stayed in 2 different rooms (because of availability) and the power shower in the first room (which was on the first floor) had poor pressure and was noisy, however, the shower in the second room (ground floor) was amazing! Good pressure and big spacious shower cubicle!

Ideal location less than 5 minutes walk to the beach parking outside front door in allocated parking space in a lovely quiet location local area had enough pubs that you can have a lovely meal, anyone who stops here should visit the fort Nelson museum

Due to hot weather could have done with a fan in the room everything else was good

It was tastefully decorated and well lit. Easy parking right in front. Speedy check in and warm welcome. Really good breakfast and lovely cheerful staff. everything you needed and more provided. Good location not far from the beach, promenade and shops. Easy commuter links.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property!
