The traditional style of the hotel is fantastic, makes for a really special stay. Evening meal food was excellent. The location is brilliant. Staff and service were great. Room was comfortable and clean.

The cost of the breakfast was very expensive, no square sausage either therefore not a Scottish breakfast. We also had some issues with the accessible room, if you require this room check that the facilities meet your needs, it's not as accessible as it should be.

Location was convenient for my itinerary, I saw a part of Glasgow I was unfamiliar with, and found it very attractive. The look and ambiance of the Hotel was pleasing and the staff were attentive. The room was large, comfortable and had a reasonable view. I arrived early and was kindly allowed into my room ahead of the advertised booking in time.

The shower was mediocre and the bathroom furniture was tired (loose toilet seat with missing elements). The coffee machine in the room (nice touch) leaked badly. I would come back to this hotel, but the price point would need to be more competitive, or the standard room equipment updated.

The castle was very pretty. The staff from the reception desk to the Waite staff at the restaurant were all friendly and great at their jobs. The food for dinner was delicious and reasonably priced. Very close to rail station which was great for going into Glasgow. So fast and convenient!!

I wish we knew before we sat down for breakfast one morning what the only 2 options were because they were very expensive for what you got. Ask to see menus before you go in, then decide.

This was our favorite property during our visit (we stayed at three others in various locations). It’s beautiful, striking and historic in appearance. It had everything we needed, and the bar and restaurant were top-notch. The food was exceptional. Located only a block or so from the Tram lines, it was quite easy to get into downtown Glasgow. We did a Hop On Hop Off bus tour from there to visit various scenic and historical locations around Glasgow, before catching the train back to Sherbrooke Castle Hotel. The room was quiet and comfortable, and we were able to get quality rest.

There was nothing we didn’t like. Just a word-to-the-wise note: The property is not handicapped accessible. There are stairs. There is no elevator. This was not a problem for us, however it is a consideration to be aware of.

we did an overnight stay, I wish we could have stayed longer. the staff were all excellent, polite, helpful, there wasn’t anything that was too much trouble, a unique team, a pleasure to meet. we were upgraded to a junior suite which was spotless, comfy, spacious and well appointed. the bathroom had both bath and separate shower. toiletries were a good brand, the towels white and soft. a good hospitality tray, nespresso machine, fridge. WiFi was very good, both for personal devices and a work laptop. dinner was excellent, lots of choice although the lamb rack was not available. the quality of the food was very good, portion sizes just right, we enjoyed everything we had. there was a good range of drinks, served with care and as expected. a good wine list, good diverse choice. the Christmas decorations were tasteful, just enough, and very festive.

breakfast seemed slightly expensive as it was £21 per person, but, a really good choice of cereals and continental type pastries. the full Scottish was lovely, each element well cooked and well presented. good coffee and again the waiting staff were very cheerful and helpful, so the price was justified in my view.

Everything was beautifully clean and comfortable, and the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. We travelled with a small dog; the room had a big, comfortable pad and dog bowl, and we could eat breakfast and dinner in any room other than the restaurant, which was perfectly acceptable and we enjoyed the same level of great service.

We didn't have an opening window for ventilation in our room, and the room was very warm. We would return again, but ask for a room with an opening window.

Very cool building. If you’re on a driving trip of Scotland, it has free parking which helps in price of accommodation. It is only one train stop from Glasgow Central - 5 mins, with the train departing twice an hour. It’s only a 4 minute even walk to the train. Very easy. The Hotel itself is fabulous. They upgraded us to a Junior Suite unexpectedly - that was such a bonus 🙏

Such a beautiful place! Very nice staff (at check-in, during dinner, and for drinks afterwards) - everybody was very accommodating. Since the pub was very quiet, we got to talk to the two bar tenders for quite a while which was really nice. The waiter during dinner was really nice and funny as well. Dinner was superb - excellent quality and presentation! While the castle is located outside of town, the neighborhood is beautiful - we went for a walk after dinner - and actually easily accessible by train (which should be more clearly pointed out on the website, I suggest).

The Continental breakfast was rather underwhelming.

Our room lovely and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Our dog Fergus was very welcome, with a bed and dishes supplied. There was tea, coffee, milk and chocolates in our room. We had dinner at the restaurant, it was delicious. We also had breakfast before we left, there was a good choice of cereals, pastries etc and lovely eggs benedict.

I wasn't aware of the £30 surcharge for our dog, I am not sure if I missed it when booking. In the information file the prices for the breakfast differ to those in the dining room.

Lovely old building and our room was splendid, part of which being in one of the turrets at the front of the hotel. The room was very spacious with a separate shower/bath room down a short corridor but all part of the suite. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The bar and restaurant were very good as was the food at our evening meal. Good free car park, a bonus.

Nothing not to like for us.
