The room was perfect, clean and tidy. I arrived on Sunday evening, the pub was full of people enjoying an evening meal and having a drink, very warm atmosphere and an open, log burning fire to greet you on entry. The food is very good indeed, typical pub grub done very well, I had something different every night. The breakfast was perfect every morning. The staff are very engaging and make you feel welcome from the first moment you enter the establishment. Overall it made a great change from staying in a Holiday Inn or a Premier Inn. I enjoyed my stay so much I have booked another week.

There was nothing worthy of mention here, everything was just right. I couldn't fault anything.

Lovely period inn offering good facilities, comfy bed and rural charm. Food in the pub was amazing, although missed out on trying the pizza as only ended up eating one evening, but breakfast was superb especially for being included. Staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, couldn’t ask for more from such an establishment. The area is lovely and quiet and the pub itself was a great example of the village in general.

Only thing, and it isn’t even a big deal, it is obviously a hard water area and the shower head just needed a quick brush off with my hand as some of the holes had sealed from limescale. Wasn’t an issue at all as was fitted with the rubber holed variety so was quick and easy but something for the team to keep an eye on (mind the neck pain of looking up!) Equally everything else was spotless so maybe we were just at the end of a fortnightly/monthly descale, hard water has it’s downfalls!

The staff were exemplary, the food delicious and the location great. Home made cookies and fresh milk in the room was appreciated. Do note this is a pub and not a hotel so expect some noise from the bar area below.

The smell of people smoking wafting up from downstairs into my room plus only a very small car park which means most cars are parked out on the main road. Not a major problem but the HGVs thundering past was a little concerning.

Lovely village. Helpful staff. Delightful church and charming church bells. The sheepskins and sun-hats on the outside seats was very thoughtful. The tumeric and lemon shots were a delight.

Dim bulbs in the bedside lighting, inadequate for reading. Lack of any choice of newspapers aside from the Tory ones. No 'European', no 'Guardian'. A little tree growing on the patio would have been ideal. We understand that's a lot of fuss.

When we first got to The Grosvenor Arms we were told our room had been upgraded, free of charge due to not being fully booked which was very thoughtful. The milk and cookies given on arrival was also a lovely touch! The bed was comfy and shower room was lovely.

The window to our room didn’t close properly, being positioned above the smoking area to the pub/restaurant this meant we could smell the smoke in our room. Along with this it became quite cold in the room and very loud from people outside. We also ate for dinner and had the fish and chips which we thought was quite poor, with the cost of £18 each you’d expect a lot better.

Breakfast was excellent. The Room was very comfortable and the extra touches such as fresh coffee and fresh cookies were a fantastic bonus. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble. We would definitely recommend The Grosvenor Arms and would stay again.

Parking was busy but we found some, it was nice to see the pub so busy and vibrant.

Hospitality means more than a comfy bed and a good meal; it's the level of service which makes a place distinct. In this respect The Grovesnor Arms is very special. The staff were, without exception, friendly, efficient and engaging. They went beyond their brief every time even to the extent of anticipating needs; they treated my elderly relatives with a respectful attention that was truly appreciated by us all. The food is excellent and the little touches in the rooms are thoughtful.

The 45 minute wait for breakfast on the Saturday was a pain but given the quality of the rest of the stay, forgivable. Every kitchen has its nightmares from time to time. I'll put that down to a one off...

Friendly and attractive. Comfortable bed too. The dinner was superb, but it always is at the Grosvenor. I lived locally for several years and was a frequent diner at the Grosvenor (under this management).

It was a bit warm in my room. I opened the window and a huge mosquito flew in and I spent ages trying to kill him. For the rooms that are warmer, maybe put screens on windows so guests get the fresh air but without mosquitoes or other bugs flying in.

Atmospheric pub with beautiful rooms (certainly not small, despite the description) which are spotlessly clean. We loved the attention to detail in the rooms and pub- proper candles on tables, cookies in the room, quality teas and coffees and luxurious toiletries. A big thank you to the staff and chefs for a wonderful evening. The food is exceptional and the wait staff were attentive and personable. Breakfast was just as good! What's not to like?! Perfect location for a Longleat visit. We hope to stay again one day.

No signal or WiFi in our room, but that did keep me off my work emails for our stay which isn't a bad thing! Shower a little short for my 6ft2 partner.

Very good breakfast

I had a steak dinner and the steak vas very tuff but they did not charge for it and gave us completely drinks as well. Very apologetic staff. My wife's food was very good and so was my starer. I would have sooner had a good steak! I would stay there again but have something else off the menu.
