Liked that the accommodation was in a separate building which was quiet. Beds were comfy. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and approachable. Will definitely stay here again

We booked an evening meal on one night of our stay. Unfortunately we waited a long time for food to arrive and was poor when we did eventually get it. There had been a large family with lots of unruly kids running around screaming and stealing food off customers plates. This resulted in some meals having to be resupplied. Parents didn't seem to care that this was upsetting lots of customers and caused lots of extra work for the staff Debbie our server was amazing and offered her apologies and also offered to get us alternatives to our order. John, the nanager came to speak to us and offered us a full refund and drinks.

Lady that did breakfast and gentleman who we ordered dinner from were really lovely, unfortunate that the short haired lady who we first met and tried to order a sandwich lunch from was rude, so we didn't have lunch. Great room, very dog friendly, great food and value

The first lady we met behind the bar, rude, tutted and huffed because we asked if we coukd have the veggie sandwich without avocado! She was unbelievably rude! Couldnt fault anything else, all exceptionally good

Tidy accommodation block on one side of the pub. Quiet location, easy parking and access on ground floor. Room was a decent size and nicely decorated. Nice shower over bath. Welcoming pub next door with food and board games. Good choice for breakfast.

No plugs next to the bed. Dressing table rather than a working desk. My husband's mobile signal wasn't good (Lebara), though mine was fine (giffgaff). Would be nice if breakfast started a little earlier than 8. Another guest saved a bit of time by pre-ordering the night before, didn't realise that was an option!

Lovely warm welcome on a busy Christmas eve afternoon and after a 4 hour journey. Room lovely and cosy, we always feel relaxed when staying here... Even the dogs are chilled here, unlike when we have stayed at national hotel chains.... Fabulous food... Breakfasts are amazing. Very dog friendly 99% of the staff are really lovely, helpful and genuinely go the extra mile when needed.

Bathroom smelt of smoke all the time we were there. Obviously previous guests have selfishly not adhered to the no smoking policy..... Not the hotels fault.. Cobwebs on ceiling in room and bedside lampshdes full of dust. Miserable, Snappy Lady on duty at breakfast 26th and 27th...(small lady short hair) Absolutely no customer service didn't expect us and didn't seem happy we were there and no attempt to hide the fact. ALL OTHER STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY And EXTREMELY HELPFUL another lady came across and apologised afterwards. All that said we will return as it is close to family and even the dogs are chilled when we stay here.

Brilliant location and lovely setting. Staff were welcoming, helpful, accommodating and relaxed. This is our second time stopping at The Oak and it won't be the last. Food and drink is good, fair priced. It's a relaxed atmosphere, plenty of room at the tables and a roaring open fire gives it a real homely feel. The breakfast (again) is exceptional, freshly prepared, tasty and plenty of it. What more can you ask? It set us up for the whole day.

We were in the first room downstairs and there was some disturbance from the other guests around midnight. In no way do we hold The Oak responsible for this, we appreciate not everyone wants to be in bed as early as we do. But I mention it because if you are a light sleeper or think you may be disturbed, ask for a room either upstairs or away from the front door.

This time we stayed in room 5 room 5 is cycled and it was a lot bigger nice layout and bathroom was a walk-in shower absolutely fantastic ok the water went cold twice at the run away from it if it could be constant warm would be better apart from that all good the room was absolutely lovely if you could webs here and there not an issue couldn't work out the TV though I know it's a smart TV the controller was very confusing next time I might get the controller and the TV book out and have a look how to work it we'll stay again

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Still an amazing hotel/B&B! Ignore the negative reviews on booking.com and TripAdvisor! The service is excellent, the staff show a real interest in you. The breakfast is amazing, a great selection to choose from. The restaurant is great for lunch and dinner too! You would never have thought this was a chain pub/hotel. Thanks for an amazing stay!

Lack of plug sockets in the bedroom. Breakfast time, suggests 7am in the rooms welcome pack but it’s not actually served until 8am… perhaps a little too late for the early risers!

It is literally 2 miles away from where I go to drop off my child makes my life so much easier it's dog friendly that makes my life easier as well nice staff welcoming places absolutely fantastic recommend it to anyone only thing I didn't like was the price little bit too much I go again if it is a little bit cheaper I think £167 plus £30 for the dog for two nights is quite expensive

As I said in the other question the price £167 for two nights plus £30 for the dog when other places are only charged £10 for two nights or the dog and probably around about £130 for two nights so quite expensive like the place but expensive lack of plug sockets can only find 3 plug sockets one for the kettle one for the TV we and one spare one definitely need to put more plug sockets in in the room I was in or usb port to the bed

We only went for a one night stay, and would definitely go back. Excellent food breakfast fantastic apart from eggs as they'd run out lol though we were late for breakfast. Wouldn't hold this against them as it was made up with extras Fantastic range of all beers lagers and spirits Staff polite friendly, couldn't have been better Facilities for dogs along with shaded areas also good Although we didn't go anywhere else central to everywhere We will definitely go back

The food was amazing, we had dinner and breakfast. The staff were really lovely and made our stay very enjoyable. The room we stayed in was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable.

The were a few little issues, there wasn't any staff around when we first arrived. The bathroom had abit of mold on the ceiling and on the tiling. There was also a stain on the top of the bedding. However this wouldn't stop us staying again.
