I love the staff here. Always pleasant and helpful. They have been amazing and kind throughout the previous months when I have stayed for work. They are all a credit to this hotel.

Let me start by saying I’ve stayed here numerous times during the last 6 months and have never had anything but a good experience. The staff here are a joy! Bret is a Superstar! Unusually on this occasion I was checked into an Un cleaned room which was actually disgusting. Thankfully this was soon rectified and I was allocated a different room. Again this was good as even if the previous room had been cleaned I would not have stayed in it. Do not like the now post COVID19 GPB 6 parking fee in addition to the room rate. Unnecessary, please include include in your published rates.

Very quiet and comfortable room, warm. I found the room made up every day when I got back in the evening, with a mint chocolate on the bed, and the facilities replenished (loo paper, milk pods for tea, clean cup and saucer, bins emptied). Having breakfast included over at the Holiday Inn was really great. If I felt chilly I could just turn up the radiator and it heated the room nicely.

I wasn't sure how to check out in the morning as there were no staff about and the door to reception was locked. The plughole in the sink in the bathroom was a bit smelly! The window in my room didn't shut properly (but this didn't matter too much since the radiator was easily operated). The main light in the bedroom was a bit low, I kept walking into it!

I was meeting friends for a college reunion. We were able to have a private function room that suited our requirements. The meal was very good, and the service very good also.

There was a mark on the outside of the wash basin which was off-putting, and may have been overlooked in the cleaning process. The shower was overhead, and couldn't be adjusted and there were no shower caps provided, luckily I had brought my own. The cups in the bedroom were black, and I prefer to use ones with a white interior.

Location was ideal to visit IWM Duxford Room was basic but clean Breakfast / car parking was included in the price Evening meals in the Red Lion were well prepaired

On arrival we found out the Red Lion was actually owned/ran by the Holiday Inn next door, and not a stand alone hotel as suggested in the advertisement. Had to book in at the Holiday Inn, and have breakfast there. Breakfast was ok but limited items, if you want a 'Full English' then book such as a Premier Inn etc The bathroom was clean but not really suitable for someone elderly or disabled, eg the toilet was squeezed into a space under a staircase so hit head on the sloping ceiling above a few times whilst using the toilet during our stay Bath was quite small and quite slippy..

Modern small double room with en-suite bathroom. Close to the railway line but I didn’t hear any train (nor traffic) noise. Check in and good breakfast a few steps away in the Holiday Inn. Great location for my needs (visiting a relative and going to Stapleford Granary jazz) and will definitely return

The railway line runs through Whittlesford with only a footbridge over the line. There are 2 roads into the village off the A505 and it is the eastern one which is actually signposted with large red signs but my satnav took me to the wrong side of the line

The hotel was nice overall and the staff were very friendly and helpful. When the curtain rail fell down it was fixed very quickly and we were given free drinks and a free breakfast.

The room was a little cramped and lacking in facilities such as a wardrobe. It had an unnecessarily enormous television which really got in the way in a comparatively small room.

Brilliant kind staff. I was isolating, recovering from COVID, and they made it possible. The staff were all very good, imaginative and very helpful. The room was sweet, the hotel is very attractive and in a lovely location, also usefully next to the rail station.

About half the electrics in the room were not working at all: extractor fan, shaving socket, unknown wall switch. And a socket was causing my phone charger to overheat. No bedside light. Rotten window wouldn't open.

Friendly service, although a little odd to check in at the Holiday inn across the road. The facilities were clean and well looked after and the food was great for the price that was paid.

The room was perhaps a little bit on the smaller side (especially height wise), and for someone who is over 6ft4 it was a bit of a struggle to stand up, especially in the shower!

The room wasn’t Victorian style which was nice and the free standing bath in the room made it even more special and romantic

The downfall to staying at the red lion was that the pub was closed so we had to eat at the holiday inn and the menu wasn’t that great and overpriced. The tv in our room wasn’t working, management came over to look at it but didn’t offer us a different room,I know this isn’t a big problem but after having a busy day we were looking forward to chilling out and watching tv.

The staff were friendly, the room was spacious and the bed was not the 2 singles joined but a proper king size! I will gratefully say that the manager was truly wonderful. He was super helpful and kind. I didn't have a phone charger so unplugged his own phone and charged mine. Could not be more professional and a natural for his role. I pretty much booked the cheapest, nearest place whilst I got my shredded tyre replaced. It was however a great choice despite it being enforced. Thank-you so much and I would whole heartedly recommend this hotel.

The reason for my stay....car troubles! Apart from that....nothing!
