This lovely facility is nestled in a quaint little village which can so easily be missed whilst your travelling along the A14. The welcome from staff was very friendly and accommodating The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable. The tea/coffee making facilities were really nice, no UHT milk but real milk on asking. The bathroom is a wet room but has been designed very cleverly to provide a shower which heads straight down rather than soaking everything. The Carpenters Arms has a 'quirky' decor but my first thought was 'uplifting and pleasant'. We ate in the restaurant on the first night, and although a little pricey, was a real treat, and again the staff very tentative.

This isn't really a dislike because it is an old property, but the road can be a little noisy first thing in the morning.

The location is really nice. Not sure how accessible it would be via public transport but if driving it's fairly easy to get to and has a large car park around the back. The room was nice and has a kettle and coffee machine. Unique breakfast and the food space was really nice and quirky. Very attentive staff.

Room was quite warm and while there was a fan, this wasn't enough to stay cool. Shower soap dispenser needed refilling. Small breakfast selection (but it was actually very nice, but for some people I reckon it wouldn't have been enough). Would have been better if there was a little fridge to put some milk in and keep water cold. Also there was no wardrobe or drawers for clothes. Would have been great if there was a small rail to hang clothes on. There is a space in the corner that would be perfect for a high rail.

I think I've just found my favourite place to stay around Cambridge. This was absolutely superb. So the place has been recently done up and re-opened around March I believe. It really has been done well - v colorful, but everything works, style-wise, and it feels like you're somewhere quirky, unusual, in an enjoyable way - the find of place where you want to see what the loos look like. The room really was done to a high spec, with a wet room, fabulous cotton sheets, really nice shower stuff, proper coffee maker, etc. And the staff were absolutely lovely - really attentive but not too much, and you kind of felt they genuinely enjoyed working there. I had dinner which was delicious - proper local cheese on the menu, which is always a good sign. Didn't have breakfast, but as I left they were slicing some delicious-looking proper bread, which almost made me stay & conjure up an excuse for being late to my meeting I've written probably over 100 reviews and very conscious that this is the most glowing, but then I think this place deserves it.

Just to be clear, this is't really a criticism, but if you're over 6ft and don't like ducking your head, The Carpenters Arms is not for you, though I found it quirky. Also my room didn't have a desk, but when I told the guy on the front desk, he seemed appalled, so I wouldn't be surprised if they had already put that right...

The Carpenter’s Arms was a delight to stay in. The room was lovely, with extremely comfortable bed and bedding, a sparkling clean bathroom and good facilities. The staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful, even when we were a bit of a pain with our arrangements. We would thoroughly recommend staying here.

There was nothing not to like!!

The whole experience was exceptionally good. Staff were so helpful, food at dinner and breakfast was very good, the pub and garden are beautifully put together. Bedding and towels were quality. And the coffee pod machine in the room was a nice touch.

I'm not a great fan of wet rooms- but it was a lovely wet room with Bramley toiletries.

The staff were welcoming and accommodated my slightly later arrival and early-ish departure. The breakfast was very nice and I would have liked longer to enjoy it. The room was nicely decorated with a great coffee machine and bathroom. The bed was very comfortable.

The room was a little compact, but the was fine for me.

Excellent dinner, loved the flavours. Accommodation great value for money

Room was quirky and comfortable, but there was no wardrobe, and no storage for items. Toilet and sink were in the shower area, so floor could be slippery, and accessed by a step up from the bedroom.

rooms were nice and cosy, the en-suite was a wet room with a great shower. more importantly the food was incredible. the best burger I’ve had in years. I’d highly recommend for the food alone so with the nice rooms and friendly and helpful staff it’s definitely worth a stay.
