Staff were brilliant. Really friendly. Evening menu was nice but a little pricey. Breakfast was amazing.

We stayed in room 6 which is right on the end of the building next to the main road. If we’d have realised we would have asked for a different room.

Stunning location with views overlooking Ladybower Reservoir. Room was simply furnished but clean and with everything we needed. Range of tea, instant coffee, and hot chocolate with kettle and mugs. Good sized shower with dual head at a decent water pressure. Free parking during your stay in the adjoining car park. Meals at the Inn were fantastic, generous portions and extremely well done. Great to fuel walks out in the Peak District. Staff were friendly and helpful.

No complaints. The Inn is on a main road, so some traffic noise to be expected - did not disrupt our sleep. Well worth a little noise for having glorious walks on your doorstep.

Lovely pub with lots of character. The whole property was pristine clean. Our room was comfortable, plenty of space and perfect for what we needed. The food was exceptional & good value for money for such high quality! Great location to see all of the beauty of the Peak District reservoirs in walking distance, Castleton a short drive. Staff were all lovely & the gentleman front of house gave us lots of info r/e the building, art & dambusters. We felt very welcome and looked after.

Not about the property because it was great but phone signal is non existent (we found this to be the case in most of the district) , wifi available in the pub but not great in the rooms, but you don’t come to the Peak District to sit on your phone. If it wasn’t that I had children at home this wouldn’t have been an issue at all.

Very good choice of breakfast and everything we had was great. We ate every evening in the pub and the standard of food was excellent. The Batemans beer was also excellent. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our 45 kilo mountain dog was made very welcome, he is my wife's Service Dog so that was a major plus point for us. Room was very clean and comfortable. We went home very happy as we bought our new home in Derbyshire which was the main reason for our visit.

Lovely friendly helpful staff. Comfortable bed and very quiet to say it’s on the main road and had a great nights sleep. I must say it was the best Full English breakfast I have ever had. It was quality! I normally go for eggs Benedict but fancied full English and I was not disappointed it was superb. Thank you

The tables were sticky in the bar and breakfast area which could be down to the cleaning agent used which I have found myself with some products. Please this is not a criticism just an observation.

Excellent breakfast and dinner, well prepared and presented, very friendly staff. Bathroom very clean. Our main reason to stay was the superb location for walks.

The room would be more comfortable with a couple of chairs, or stools; the main road outside the window was very noisy, even during the night; I suggest triple-glazing and/or heavier curtains would help.

An excellent hotel. The newly refurbished inn and rooms were exceptionally well fitted out, clean and comfortable. We had a lovely view over the Ladybower lake. The evening meal was of a very high standard and the quality was 4 star, very well presented by helpful and charming staff. The breakfast was again excellent

We were unable to have breakfast because it wasn’t served until 8.30, and we had an early start. However, the price of the breakfast was removed from our bill. Breakfast served from 8am would have been ideal for us, and following the excellent evening meal, we were a little disappointed to miss it.

The food was amazing. Exceeded all expectations. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The toilets were impeccable. Love the little touches. Would stay again.

The tables were sticky. Not sure what is used to clean them but it leaves a sticky residue. The room was a little noisy after the outer door being left open.

Second stay. This time under new owners but other than some redecoration in the bar area it was just the same. Great staff. Great room and the best breakfast ever.

Unfortunately there wasn't any food being served the night we stayed but if the breakfast is anything to go by then the food at night is going to be top class.
