The Norfolk Arms is right on the edge of the Peak District & offers glorious stunning views all round, only a short drive into Sheffield. It is a stunning hotel, great choice of local ales, restaurant offers a very nice menu, lovely atmosphere in the bar, restaurant & gardens, lots of walkers, cyclists & families, very much a hub of the area with plenty of parking! The staff were really welcoming, we booked four double rooms & all our the hotel rooms were extremely clean & comfortable, all of us would recommend a full English Breakfast (vegetarian full English too) it certainly set everyone up for their drive home on Sunday, breakfast is an additional cost but it was delicious. We would all recommend the hotel & we have already booked our rooms for our return visit in November looking forward to another enjoyable stay.

The hotel is surrounded by countryside but in good striking distance to Sheffield. There is plenty of parking and our rooms were large, clean and quiet. Having stayed in the Sheffield area a few times, this hotel definitely exceeding expectations.
We arrived on Saturday evening, the facility was very busy but there was no one at reception and ringing the bell didn't attract any attention so we had to seek out help from the bar staff who failed to raise a smile. To be 'picky', and note that I will use this hotel again, the small TV in 'my' room was fixed to the wall and only viewable from the bed (not the table area) and the mattress on the squeaky bed got 'hot'.

Booked this place to stay with a friend, it was within budget and close to our planned trips around the peak district. Had no idea how pretty the pub was and how picturesque the sett8ng would be. I chose an extra large bed and it was huge and so comfortable. Smart TV in the room, lovely view out the window and a really good shower. Only thing I would have improved upon would be a few more coffees sachets and some biscuits to go with. Had dinner the night before our stay which was excellent value and delicious and also had breakfast on checkout which was again fantastic. My friend and I agreed we would both defo stay here again.

Cozy hotel just far enough outside of Sheffield to make travelling in relatively easy, but also far enough out to have country feeling. However, unexpectedly, traffic was very heavy on both days we stayed so took good 20 mins to travel to uni area. Room wasn't anything special but it was nice to be able to control the heating. Restaurant/bar area, particularly in the evening with the fires on, looked inviting but on both evenings we went out for dinner in Sheffield; perhaps next time we'll eat in the hotel.
Breakfast was a little unimaginative.

Pulled up after a torrid day working in Sheffield and immediately began to relax. lovely location , lots of parking, beautiful stone building and very welcoming staff were my first impression. I’d booked a classic double room so wasn’t expecting much but how wrong I was. lovely room with the most beautiful view from the window. I’d booked a table in the bar for food - what a treasure of a bar!! Again the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food wasn’t overpriced. I ordered beef stew which was obviously cooked from fresh ingredients - just smashing. Back to my room for an early night ( torrid day ) and slept really well in a bed with lovely fresh bedding and plenty of thick comfortable pillows ( sadly lacking in some hotels ) Would highly recommend the Norfolk Arms.
only slight niggle ( and it is only slight ) is that the carpet in my room could do with a clean

Beautiful location. Lovely room, light and airy, four poster bed, amazing bath. Nespresso machine. Double aspect windows with glorious views. Lovely staff. Breakfast was good too
Larger bath towels would have been a better option, the ones provided weren’t big enough to cover up with! Pillows were quite hard which I found uncomfortable. Unable to open some of the windows. Very small tv unable to watch it from the bed due to the size and the position on the wall.

The Norfolk Arms hotel is set in a lovely area just outside Sheffield with wonderful views. The room itself is a good size, tidy and clean, the bed comfortable. The lobby area is small but large enough for purpose and between the restaurant downstairs and access to the rooms upstairs. The restaurant itself serves nice food and has a range of beverages to suit. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast too. Staff were polite and answered any questions I had. I would certainly recommend this hotel.
Can’t say I didn’t like anything!

Easy to book and check-in - very welcoming. Comfortable, clean and warm rooms well furnished and cleaned daily. Only had breakfast - quick, and excellent service. Friendly engaging and approachable staff.
Not a complaint but recognition of the warning from the hotel about live music and events being the cause of noise in the rooms. I booked on that basis and had no issue with the Jazz band playing. Reward the owners in fronting this up on their site.

The room and view from our room were beautiful. The bed was so incredibly comfortable and the bathroom definitely has been updated. Note, our room had a bath tub with a hand held shower hose in the tub, so make sure you ask/get clarity if that’s not for you. (we didn’t mind) The staff and their personalities were wonderful and I wish I had asked their names. It was quite a busy evening for dining and you can just tell that the Norfolk arms is a treasure to the area. I knew I’d love it but my husband did too and we truly hope to be able to come back. 15-20 minutes from Derbyshire, Chatsworth house for us.
We really loved everything; if we had anything to note it would be that we think a dog had stayed in our room because of some fur and smell on the carpet (my husband was stretching from so much walking that day so that’s the only way we noticed!) and guests should prepare to manage heating and air conditioning with an open mind. Pack warm weather and cool weather PJs and don’t be afraid to open windows for a breeze (I think there was an unusual warm spell of weather that came through during our visit)

We’ve stayed at the Norfolk Arms just once before and although it wasn’t the closest point to our actual destination (we were going to Huddersfield), we decided to come here again. The staff are fabulous, the room is just fine and the food is great. The steak and ale pie is at least 50% of what brought us back, and we were even able to order in advance some of these to bring back home with us. Take my word for it, if you like a pie you NEED to order one of these. This definitely won’t be our last visit. Thank you everyone😀
Nothing, it’s all great.
