Railay Princess Resort & Spa-SHA Extra Plus

The location of the hotel is great for the area. Our room had a fabulous view of one of the resort swimming pools and a man made lake. The breakfasts you get are very good. It’s good value for money considering the rates for other resorts on Railay Beach. The rooftop pool is really awesome and we watched birds, monkeys and bats from the location- spectacular! Please note that you need to arrange transportation to get to isolated Railay Beach. If you arrive in Krabi after 6pm you probably need the resort to help coordinate this and it costs 1500 baht!

The thing about the smell that you read in other reviews is real. However, it did not impact us in our room. You can definitely smell it walking around the grounds. Also the resort has areas where they look like they are fixing/updating things, so there are places that resemble construction zones or random piles of furniture. The room we stayed in (Building 4) seemed older than the ones closer to the lobby (it’s a big resort!) The room itself felt a bit dated, but was comfortable and functional.

Friendly and helpful staff, quite responsive in messages/email. 6. The Grand Deluxe Double Room facing the pool was an amazing room: size, bath tub, view, bed size, amount of natural light. 7. Location: near port, quieter side of Railay, many food options, has its own mini-mart and ATM.

These aren't deal breakers and I hope they improve these for the next time we come again because we will definitely come again. 1. AC is old so a bit loud and no remote. 2. Toilet takes a couple of tries to completely flush. 3. Asking to send credit card details via unsecure email (for booking private transfers). 4. Some parts of the facilities are old and needs some touch up (pool surfaces, toilets, etc) 5. Gym has no AC. 6. Breakfast buffet can be better.

Great location, with very knowledgeable and friendly staff! Comfortable beds and hot water showers.

A little pricey for what you get, breakfast could have more variety, not enough loungers around the pool in comparison to number of guests.

The hotel was in a good location, close to the pier, and only a short walk to the beach on the west side of Railay. The pools were nice and open until late so you can watch the stars at night and relax. The room was large and cleaned regularly. Staff were very helpful.

There was a bad smell in the room whenever I turned on the taps in the bath. The shower was fine, but I couldn't use the bath as it left a smell of sewage in the room. The condition of the bathroom was generally very bad with old, worn out fixtures. Monkeys were a constant nuisance.

It should be noted at first, that the hotel, as well as all the hotels here, are located isolated from the rest of the country, and the only way to get here is by boats. This is a plus if you don't like crowds nearby and a minus if you want ProjectX like parties. The hotel itself is quite tired-looking, but it corresponds to the price, it has everything you need for living and relaxing, the bedding is changed every day, and the cleaning is done very neatly. The breakfast is of decent quality, although somewhat monotonous, but there are enough dishes, so you won't get tired of it in a week. I don't recommend having lunch or dinner there; other places offer tastier or cheaper options, or even both at the same time. The hotel has two pools, which are quite small, but it's convenient to sit on the loungers and enjoy a beer. There are two beaches nearby, both excellent, with luxurious water and views. If you're in the tropics for the first time like me, keep in mind that there will be a smell of decaying organic matter everywhere, which is normal. There is a walking street with plenty of restaurants, services, shops, goods, and everything else. Excursions to nearby islands can be arranged, and you can also take boat trips to the nearest city closer to civilization.

What we like the most is the place of the room which was very close to the swimming pool and there was a great view on a small lake from our room. Beside the view on the lake, the fauna and flora is very developed so it's very noisy when the sun rose down ! If you love the nature you'll fall in love! The hotel warn you about the monkeys that can enter your room when you left it open so we make sure that it was closed It was also very easy to walk to every beach because the hotel is between the main beaches of the peninsula. The breakfast is very qualitative with fresh fruits and western food.

When we checked out we left our luggages to go on a boat tour. They took it but they left them in the main hall behind the desk which is not very secure from our point of view. We expect a special room to keep our luggages safe.

Great pool, good gym, nice and quiet.

No complimentary water given on our last day (prior to checking out) despite asking for it.

Lacked atmosphere a little

I stayed here 15 years ago so I was happy to stay in the new building. It was prettier than the old ones. Breakfast was great; air conditioning in the room was good; rooftop pool was relaxing and not too crowded

Honestly..you should have a running water station in the lobby so you can fill up your water bottle anytime during the day. When I asked to fill my water bottle they were going to charge me $100 baht. Technically since we were paying for breakfast everyday, I didn’t feel I should have to pay for the water.
