U Chiang Mai

Lovely property. The staff is very helpful and organise whatever you need with a smile. The location is brilliant. It's at the heart of the old town and within walking distance from some of the milestone temples, the eating joints and the flea market. The property is clean and well-managed. The breakfast is decent.

In case you prefer firm mattresses please mention it upfront. They have a soft mattress as an add-on which in my case was lumpy and uncomfortable. They removed it and provided a firm mattress at my request. There are no lifts on the property but they inform you prior to your arrival and they have someone to help with the luggage so it is not a bother. If you have a problem with stairs then you may want to reconsider.

nice staff, great location, clean. breakfast was great for early excursions we had. not many places were open before 7am so it was a great option. the staff was very helpful. we had a local artist make something for us but it was dropped off when we were on a tour. they exchanged our payment with him and had it waiting for us. they also assisted with laundry. great stay highly recommend.

our shower water pressure was a bit strange. did the trick but sometimes the pressure switched and it would drop down then rocket out fast. it definitely woke us up lol

very good location in the middle of the city. nice rooms. not very big, but big enough and with an effective air condition. the beds also comfortable. we had a room with a quite private pool with comfortable temperature and not too much chlorine. the staff is very helpful and always smiling. can definitely recommend and would like to come back here sometime. also a big plus with 24-hours use of room with check out whenever you like. it was very nice for us, taking a train to Bangkok from Chiang mai at 6 pm that we could use our room until 5pm.

From the minute we entered the hotel it just oozed relaxation and calmness.Lovely reception staff who asked us what soap we would like in our room,gave us a beautiful cold herbal drink before signing us in. Our room was on the top floor ..our balcony looked over the pool area and we had lovely comfortable seating plus a fan.The room was spacious,the bed was super comfortable and it was all so calming!Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice,well presented and served in a calm,polite manner.tThe staff couldn’t be faulted..calm,polite and helpful a real credit to the hotel.

U Chiang Mai was a gem of a find! We loved it. Fab calm reception area and the staff were excellent. Breakfast was delicious and they served it wherever we wanted - restaurant, pool side, open airy reception area. The room was luxurious and was everything and more to what we expected. A bonus is you can check out at any time as long as it’s not more than 24 hours since your arrival. V convenient. Also got to choose the type of soap for our bathroom as we checked in. They have thought of literally everything. I have no hesitation in recommending but please don’t everyone rush to stay… we re going back soon and need a room !

Central location in the Old Town. A little jewel of a hotel. Room was extremely good standard for facilities and cleanliness. Food was very good and well presented. Staff were so friendly and helpful while maintaining a professional service. Had several treatments at the hotel Spa which were of an excellent standard, attention to detail and our comfort was their priority. We would highly recommend this hotel and the Sunday Night Market which is directly outside of the hotel.

Couldnt find fault with it.

The room was great and the location is truly amazing. Right in the center of everything so easy access to everywhere you want to get to and the Sunday night market is literally in front of the hotel. The front desk staff are wonderful and made an amazing recommendation of a driver and tour guide who was reasonably priced and super knowledgeable.

The buffet breakfast is okay, but not as good as other hotels we’ve had in other places in Thailand.

Noise of water running through the pipes when neighbours took a shower in the early hours. Small step down to bathroom which I tripped over in the dark. Window between bathroom and bedroom although did have a Venetian blind. No light switches as you enter the room or one side of bed.

I stayed 5 nights (first 3 and extended to 5) and it was a very nice and relaxing experience. The room was spacious well presented (there is a small chessboard in one of the drawers). Bathroom was spacious. There is a large pool and small pools in front of almost all ground floor rooms. My room reservation was including breakfast. It was great that you can select to sit outside or inside the breakfast area to have your breakfast. There were plenty to select and they also had really good homemade juices/smoothies. The location is also great as the Sunday Night Market is just at the front of the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were doing everything possible to make your stay a comfortable one. It is indeed a very quiet and pleasant place to stay.

The water flow of the bathroom was not consistent. I mention this to the staff. One of the technicians came and checked the issue. It looks like it has some kind of a defect of the water pump (I was on the top floor).
