Krafft Basel

The single rooms CITY side are small but well appointed with good quality fittings, comfortable single beds and some nice touches - free tea, real coffee and Basel mineral water on the landings for instance. You wouldn't stay for a week but perfect for a night or two at a good price for Basel. The Hotel is perfectly positioned by the Mittlere Brucke on the Kleinbasel side. Molton bikes are available for free during your stay. Breakfast is excellent and the dining room overlooking the Rhine is beautiful. Staff couldn't be kinder or more efficient.

The setting, by the river, was beautiful. There were shops, restaurants and lovely walks nearby. The staff were exceptionally obliging and friendly and the dinner on their riverside terrace was spectacularly good.

I could have wished either for coffee/tea facilities in the room; or bathrobes to have been provided so we didn’t need to get dressed first thing when we wanted a drink. Also air conditioning would have been a huge bonus in the hot weather

Prime position by the river . I have also previously used the buzzy riverside restaurant in the summer which is excellent. Great vibe, classy understated decor , nice individual touches like coffee/ water station with sparkling and still on first floor.

Excellent simple continental breakfast which suited me just fine. Great fresh breads nice small selection of meats/ cheeses. If you are a Brit or from the US and expect a vast selection of hot foods you will be out of luck. Pillows are luxurious but very very soft , might be nice to offer a second spare pillow in each room.

We were greeted by very friendly and helpful front desk staff. When we opened the door to our room, we were blown away by the beautiful view and location. Floor to ceiling French doors and windows opened right out to the Rhine, the promenade next to the Rhine, and the lively Cafe scene below. It is situated perfectly for getting a good meal in an outside setting, and finishing the evening with a romantic stroll along the river.

Robin at reception was a star and a terrific introduction to Basel he dealt with all queries with professionalism and humour, for all staff here nothing was too much trouble, late check out, ordering taxi, reccomending places to visit. Also loved the refreshment stations on each floor, the ironing station and superb breakfast, a really excellent hotel

Honestly, nothing, a perfect stay

we liked the spacious room with great view over the Rhein, and the luxury of shower a n d bathtub in the bath - very estimated !- the old fashioned but modernised house, the excellent food in the restaurant(dinner!). good and healthy choice of breakfast. great idea with the coffeestation on the bedroomfloor.

no decoration on the grey walls (missing a bit of colour) in the modern room, no decoration on the walls either in the bare dining room. Bad access to the hotel with a handicapped partner (rollator) - and barricaded street - because of some kind of X-mas open drinking places. Hardly trained ( but very kind) personal , much noise of the beautyful wooden floor in the bedroom and the one above. No fridge in the room .No parking possibility at the hotel!

The breakfast was a standard continental breakfast. It seemed overpriced. I liked the coffee and snack area on every floor.

The room is dark, with no decor at all.

Coffee/tea corner on every floor with fresh fruits. The view of the Rhine from my 4th floor room. The fan in the room that made it such a great escape from the heatwave. And the Floss festival stage (floating barge) from which one could watch the concerts.

Well-located for shops and transport links. The river view rooms are great because of the seating area on the veranda.

The single room is quite narrow so if you intend to stay for 3 nights or more then probably best to get a double-room.
