Well-located, within easy reach of tram stops, shops and bars. The apartment kitchenette and balconies are great features. Anything not included in the kitchen utensils can be borrowed by asking Reception. Staff are friendly and helpful. ‘Air-con’ is not quite an accurate description for the ventilators, but we were very glad of the fans that were also in the apartment.
We arrived on August 30th in a heatwave and noticed a ‘borrow a picnic kit’ sign at Reception. Sadly when we requested one on the 1st September the Receptionist appeared to have no knowledge of it and when we checked the sign had gone, despite the good weather extending for another week! So perhaps management could be a little less rigid on date offers for such things.

The apartment space in each room was large and accommodating, and lots of space in the closets. The kitchen was fully equipped and there is a Coop (supermarket) really close, so you can get some supplies. There's an electric kettle and coffee machine as well. The bed was comfortable as well, but could have used one more pillow (this one goes on the minuses). There is a gym and Landy room, super useful. Internet connection worked really well too.
Really small minus: could have used another pillow and the room had like 4 windows with curtains that didn't fully kept the sunlight in the morning. Oh, and the chair a bit uncomfortable since only reached half of my back.

We were very pleased with our five-night stay at the Aparthotel Adagio Basel City. In the first place, despite all the warnings we had seen and heard about high prices in Basel, we found the cost of staying at the Aparthotel Adagio to be reasonable, especially as it included a BaselCard for each of us. Moreover, while our studio apartment was small, it was properly equipped and everything worked satisfactorily. In addition our studio was quiet and there was plenty of space for clothes, toilet articles, books and so on. The Adagio Basel City is on the north (east) side of the Rhine, about 20 minutes by foot from the heart of Basel. For two reasons we did not find that to be a problem: the area near the hotel has numerous restaurants and shops; and the combination of the BaselCard and the fabulous public transport network made it easy to get everywhere quickly and easily. Although apartments at the Adagio are above all functional and affordable, the architects and designers have done a lot to make them attractive. There are works of art in the rooms, corridors and staircases, and the choice of furniture and colors is harmonious. The clothes washing machines and dryers in the basement worked well and were, for us, a great convenience. (However, they were not inexpensive.)
We found that the vertical light fixtures in the studio were attractive but did not provide enough light in several parts of the studio.

I specifically chose this hotel for the location - only a 2 minute walk from the Basel Convention Centre where I was attending a conference. Couldn't have asked for a better location - not only close to the convention centre, the Clarastrasse district has many options for groceries and dining out. Easy distance walk to the Old Town over the middle bridge, and plenty of tram and bus options. (eg. a few stops on Tram 1/2 from Basel SBB train station to get to the hotel). I also loved the amount of storage in the room - plenty of cupboards and shelves to store things. The bed is a flip bed (you can lift it up during the day if you want more space in the room) - comfortable enough for me, but I can understand how others might be bothered by the 'sofa' style mattress. I had a ground floor apartment with a window that opened onto the courtyard - the courtyard could do with some freshening up of style, but it was lovely to have a breeze through the open window. Large sink with 2 shelves for storage underneath and a mirror cabinet - lovely! As an apartment style hotel, the information guide said that cleaning was done weekly - I stayed for 5 days and the towels were changed once during that time. Plenty of lighting options for the room and bed, in-room safe. There was a small cooktop and large fridge with freezer and a coffee maker. My reservation also included breakfast - a great combination of cereals, breads and pastries, cold meats, fruit - lovely! Free wifi was very helpful. There is a large lounge area at reception which includes a piano and a library with books you can read or exchange. 24h reception (as I arrived very late) and luggage storage (so I could wander around after checkout before I had to leave Basel) appreciated.
Very minor things. Take care with the over-bath shower - the bath was quite high so it was a large step to get inside. The chair at the desk was not comfortable or padded for prolonged sitting. I didn't use the in-room kitchen facilities but apart from some coffee pods, I didn't see any tea or sugar supplies. The carpet in the corridor looked dated and permanently stained.

The apartment itself was very clean and was bigger then expected. We had a one bedroom apartment. The kitchenette was a a good size and the bathroom was big. The toilet was separate which was nice.. We had twin beds and they were very comfy. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and there were teabags and pastries that you could help yourself to if you needed them. The location was great. A 10 minute walk to the river and old bridge and trams within a couple of minutes in either direction. There was a coop a few mins away that sold everything you could need and more!
There was nothing I didn’t like. I will just mention that we couldn’t work out how to turn the aircon off at night so in the end had to take the room key out and cut the power. But that worked.

The apartment was ok... They have all the necessary kitchen equipment. The apartment was warm enough in rainy days.
The aparment is not as luxurious as in pictures. It's ok for a 3 star hotel, but not that impressive. The sink faucet was not properly fixed, it was compleately loose and was mooving round and round every time we washed something. The toilet was not washed enough. We could see left overs of no. 2 at the buttom of the toilet. And of course that was our biggest isue. We travel a lot and NEVER had this problem.

The kitchen works. I would like some proper knives, but that's a tiny thing to complain. The room is great, the bathroom is excellent, and all is clean. The location is excellent and the price is fair. It has parking, too.
There's no AC. There's something which is like an AC, but it doesn't cool. I think it was the first time they faced this problem, because it's not expected to be so hot in Switzerland. The employees didn't seem aware of the problem, or they were just pushing the problem ahead, I can't be sure.

Price wise and location wise it's worth it. The apartment is spacious enough, the kitchen is well equipped, we had everything that we needed. Tons of storage space and the bed was comfortable.
Having a garden view on the ground floor meant that we could hear all the noise from people hanging out until late at night. It was very bothersome because we couldn't close the window, as there was no real air-conditioning in the building. There was a foul smell in the bathroom.

The suite/apartment was very roomy. The toilet and shower were in separate rooms (each with sinks and mirrors), which made it ideal for a number of people to get ready for the day or for bed. The day bed was a full size bed length, which was ideal for someone over 6 foot tall to sleep on when made up as a bed. Location was perfect for what we wanted. Nice garden space to sit in if you wanted fresh air.
A little bit noisy when people were in the hallways and talking in the middle of the night, especially for rooms near the lift/stairs

This is an apartment hotel (so it looked more like a flat than a hotel) equipped for travelers that need also some self-service. The room has a small kitchen with coffee machine, dish-washer, cutlery, a full size fridge and a microwave oven. Bathroom was equipped with a full size bathtub and a shower giving you the full range.
Probably was previously advertised but i was surprised that i had to pay for parking in the hotel private parking. The rooms were clean but they look like they needed some renovation.
