Anantara Kalutara Resort

Very good ocean view. Good beach. Good staff. Good breakfast.

Of course hotel should clean better the beach near hotel. We had to clean beach ourselves. Sometimes bad smell at toilet.

Our stay in Anantara Kalutara Resort was perfect, even more satisfying than expected! We managed to visit everything that we wanted and the main reason for that was a nice guy form the staff - Shalindra, who organized perfect trips for us - meals, transport and guiding. He was responsive and helping in any moment and for any request from us, not only for activities outside of the hotel! He made us happier durring our stay! But he was not alone in this work! I would like to express our thankfulness to Krish, he was our perfect trip guy and very talanted photographer and video creater. He provide us with nice memories from our stay, sent us video and photos. We were having dinner and breakfast in the main restaurant, where the food was great! Congratulations for the Chefs! Everything was very tasty and with big variety og the taste! We were impressed from the service in the italian restaurant in the resort and most especially from the attitude of Sampath. He was on our service all the time, providing us the best service by the pool and in the italian restaurant. He was guiding us on the beach, telling us local stories and advising us when is safe to swim in the ocean. We would like to meet all of the local guys from the staff again and to enjoy their services! Last but not least, there was Dilan - he was responsible for the cleaning of our appartment. He was taking perfect care for our comfort and he was very nice with our 3 years old son! As a conclusion - for the perfect family vacation is important to be in nice facility, but most important is the relationship with the staff! Anantara Kalutara is providing with proffesional and at the same time personal attitude from the people who works in the resort. We are very thankfull for this and we will definately visit this place again!

If there is something not positive in the resort, it was the service in the bar. May be there is a need of more staff there. We were waiting for our order to be taken too long. Also the drinks were brought to our table very slow.. May be, like improvement we would be happy to see a playground somewhere in the resort. We were with our 3 years old kid and there was not suitable place for him to play. There is a kids club, but still a outdoor playground is a good idea.

Staff is very professional, kind, and attentive. Rooms are clean, very spacious, and beautiful, decorated with nice window views and good ventilation ac. The location is great ,with a nice beach where you can swim and enjoy the sun. Food is various and good, and there is always something you can find to enjoy. Distance from airport to hotel is about max 2h. It is a nice place to relax and enjoy if you travel alone without anyone intruding. They have some nice souvenirs to buy in the hotel that would help the locals with their small business, and I believe anyone can afford to buy something nice as a memorie or gift for dear ones. These people have been very affected by covid, and every little help counts for them .

The whole stay was terrific! In particular, we were impressed by the outstanding location, services, facilities and quality of food and beverage. The rooms are spacious, clean, and the hospitality overall was impressive. The variety, taste, cleanliness, and quality of the food made the buffet amazing. Also it was regularly checked, and refilled. Randima the Duty Manager met us during the check in and was extremely supportive throughout the stay. Prassad the Beverage Manager was extremely friendly and helpful. He led the Mixology sessions in a fun and professional way. Rashan and Nirosh the baristas were also very kind and taught us the Coffee Making class. Kapila the trainer at the gym is very professional and taught us the squats lesson and gave us practical tips for a healthy lifestyle.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Anantara Kalutara, and I must say that it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the warm reception at check-in to the moment of departure, every aspect of our stay was simply outstanding. The first thing that struck us was the genuinely friendly and welcoming nature of the staff. Throughout our stay, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. It's evident that the team at Anantara Kalutara takes great pride in ensuring their guests feel at home, and it made all the difference. The culinary offerings at the resort were a delightful surprise. The food was not only delicious but also presented beautifully. From local delicacies to international dishes, each meal was a gastronomic adventure. The chefs clearly put a lot of thought and effort into crafting an exquisite dining experience for their guests. Our room was a tranquil oasis of comfort and cleanliness. The attention to detail was evident, and we appreciated the effort put into maintaining the room's pristine condition throughout our stay. It provided the perfect haven after a day of exploring the surroundings. Anantara Kalutara's commitment to guest security was commendable. We felt safe and secure at all times, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the relaxing atmosphere without any worries. My husband, who can be a bit of a difficult guest, was thoroughly impressed by the bar facilities and service. The bartenders were not only skilled mixologists but also attentive to his preferences, ensuring he had a fantastic time throughout our stay. It's rare to find such excellent service tailored to individual preferences. What truly stood out was the resort's exceptional customer service. Despite their best efforts, sometimes things can go wrong in any establishment. However, at Anantara Kalutara, the staff promptly addressed any issues we encountered.

While I was excited to explore Kalutara, I couldn't help but feel that there wasn't much to see beyond the common tourist spots. It would have been great to have more off-the-beaten-path attractions to discover and immerse myself in the local culture. As for the resort, I found the staff to be a bit pushy at times. While I understand that they have a job to do, the frequent inquiries about my stay and constant questioning even during meals felt a bit overwhelming. It would have been nice to have more space and privacy to enjoy my meals without feeling like I was being constantly monitored.

Staff were extremely friendly & efficient. Entire resort was well maintained. Food was amazing. House keeping was to next level. Always maintained our room, spick & span. Dilhara & Madhusha both from House keeping always had a positive attitude & maintained our room really really well. Thanks guys.

Phenomenal customer service, amazing well trained staff, great location, lovely restaurants, we had an extremely relaxing stay and felt very welcomed, will definatley go back Special mentions and thanks to Thanu at the front desk- great welcoming ceremony, extremely freindly very professional Special thanks to restaurant staff and chiefs for accommodating our gluten free requests I had the best Waffle ever in there- thank you Yasith (amazing waiter with wealth of knowlage on the restaurants menues and great recommendation on gluten free food with the biggest smile and great kindness) Thank you Sadunika and Shalini for the amazing food and service- thank you Udayangoni for the great Srilankan food- thank you Lalith for the great service

Nothing - everything was outstanding

Room and room amenities were superb. Loads of bottled water. Hot shower - always! Staff were friendly and welcoming (although service a bit haphazard sometimes). Most of the staff are new - this is the same across almost every hotel we stayed in. Post COVID recovery for all hospitality. The food was super. Catered internationally. Would I go back - absolutely.

Be aware it’s remote with maybe 2 restaurants close by. One trying to establish on the beach but we didn’t use. Town is traditional working area.

Breakfast was very good. The rooms were very big. Thanks to Villas manager Krish , that did his best to make our stay unforgettable in this hotel. The pool area Aqualina and manager Sampath are very good at their job too. Housekeeping service is also very good. Thanks for everything.

The beach area is not safe at all. No lifebuoy, no lifesavers. Too dangerous.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Anantara Kalutara Resort in Sri Lanka and it was an incredible experience. The resort is located in a very calm and serene location and next to beach.. we stayed in 2bhk presidential suit and it was huge and beautiful with warm water swimming pool and I must say rooms we stayed in was spacious, comfortable. The resort itself is beautifully designed and well-maintained, with plenty of amenities The staff were incredibly friendly and always went above and beyond to ensure that I had a pleasant stay.. One of the highlights of my stay was definitely Indian food, My CHEF MR. YASHVEER was kind and humble and ofcurse he is good at it. And the staff at the reception specially assistant manager MR.SHALINDRA were attentive, polite and always willing to help out with anything I needed. Whether it was making my room and arranging my daughter’s birthday cake at very short notice also many things done by the team to make my stay more memorable , they were always happy to assist. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Anantara Kalutara Resort and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. With its stunning location, comfortable rooms and top-notch service, it truly exceeded my expectations.
