Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa Sri Lanka

Incredible staff on-site, everyone did their best to make our stay a pleasant one. The breakfast was good, food on site was good.

Coming in after a red-eye flight, to know out that the room I booked and confirmed with the reservation department was not available. the check-in officer offered a different room at an extra charge. only until I escalated the issue the problem was solved. but this should not happen, it is a common trick but it's not worthy of a "5 Star" hotel.

I liked the location and superb view from the window. This resort has the advantage of its location where you can see and enjoy the river on one side and the sea on the other. There are some activities even in this pandemic time you can do, like water sports, gym and swimming.

I enjoyed the water sports as they have full clean water Bentota river in front of the resort. There is also a huge swimming pool where you can go any time and jump in. There is a BAR and restaurant where you can order food

We had a great stay here, the beach was easy to access. The pool facilities also easy to access. All facilities were clean and neat. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. On arrival the most beautiful lamp lighting ceremony was held with the reception staff, we all felt very special. The arrival on the jetty, you transported on a boat to the hotel reception. This also adds to the excitement of the stay! The rooms were very comfortable, The breakfast selections were vast! Really good overall.

Certain parts of the hotel is a bit dated. I am sure this is common, maybe a revamp of certain areas should be considered.

Breakfast was good. Beach was good. Pool was good. Beds were comfortable. Location was great with river on one side and the ocean on other with lots of options for water sports. U had to check in on one side of the river and then you are transported to the main hotel building in a boat through the river.

Options could be improved in the dinner buffet.

i didnt like the fact that i had to try to call more than once before my call would be answered. and another note is the way they wash the glasses in my room, he cleaned them in front of me using his hands, this wasnt acceptable for me and i didnt drink any coffee in room afterwards.

We used this hotel just as place to spend our 14-days quarantine before we can continue our travel in Sri Lanka, so we're not expected some special things here and we had what we wanted. Good point - there was beach and also pools. Staff was quite polite and friendly. Internet was also very good - we needed to work during our staying and haven't had almost any problems with it, even on the beach.

We tried to find most cheap place to spend our 14-days quarantine, and this hotel was one of cheapest, but still overpriced. Also a lot of Russian-speaking tourists which starting drink from early morning and act quite loudly almost all day. There is no wide choice of food even in 'ala-carte' restaurant, we were tried all dishes almost twice till the end of our staying and were little bit frustrated with same food day to day - and you will pay for it twice then outside of the hotel. Also before arriving there we payed for 3 PCR tests for us - just as it is required by government, but had only two of them, we asked about this several times on reception but with no luck, they just gave us certificates that we passed all what we need :)

Location was amazing, right next to one of the cleanest beaches I have ever been to! Breakfast buffet was excellent, especially the freshly made Hoppers! Staff was very friendly. Nice big rooms, very spacious and comfy! Pool bar was excellent

We booked an ocean view room, but the view was blocked by trees. Still nice but should not be advertised as an ocean view. Could have better after dinner activities

The staff were very happy and attentive. My room was lovely and cleaned daily. The bed was comfy but did creak a bit. The pool bar and pool was our go to place. The water was refreshing and not warm as others recently mentioned. The hotel is a little worn and could do with a freshen up. That said, I've stayed at other mid range hotels in Bentota and this one was better all round. My overall experience at Centara was positive and I will definitely come back.

Not so much what I didn't like but suggestions to the hotel. The ground's man do a great job each morning sweeping and cleaning but i would focus on those health and safety aspects like filling in the pavers from the childrens pool and fixing the decking boards at the restaurant. My room floor was slippery so maybe a rug? Having an ATM on site would be good. Breakfast was average and could cater for more western palate. Why were there no mangos!! See you next time...

Second time we’ve stayed here in a couple of weeks whilst moving around Sri Lanka. We love it here. Uditha on the pool bar is brilliant. A big shout out to Sanjann, Halum and Zoisa. Catering to all our needs and displaying the finest in Sri Lankan kindness and hospitality. The front of house staff have been brilliant with making our trip run smoothly and the GM Wim thanked us for visiting again. We would recommend this hotel to anyone . We will be coming back for sure!
