Sandos Papagayo

We enjoyed the location, evening entertainment and the room was comfortable overlooking the national park from the private terrace. The staff were friendly and hard working and professional.There were enough bars and entertainment areas like several swimming pools, gym, tennis, table tennis and pool tables. The hotel was half full when we there in early April so there weren't long queues at the bars.

Reception staff were not very helpful and hassled us upon arrival about the booking voucher without having given us any information that they required this (and we didn't have any cellphone reception. Also we have never had such a request before with any booking via booking.com)

The views from our room fabulous and our family room was a good size and spacious. The food was excellent, very varied and to a high standard. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

There were inconsistencies in the room upkeep and we had to ask for essential toiletries on more than one occasion. The tea and coffee were not replenished throughout our stay, but the tea and coffee throughout hotel widely available and excellent. With an elderly family member, the tea and coffee in the room would have been helpful.

You cannot have any complaints with this hotel, except of two which I mention below. Food and option of an extra two different restaurants as well as the buffet and Italian were first class. Drinks and service were excellent. Room and balcony were cleaned perfectly and timely as well as a good view. Grounds, pool and area were maintained very well.

The entertainment was very patchy, hardly ever seemed to be what was advertised in the morning and some evenings the theatre was closed and there was none, very very disappointing. The sun beds were past their best and a lack of umbrellas.

How big the hotel is . There is so much to do and the food was outstanding. Propably better then some cruise lines . Staff was extra friendly and entertainment staff as well as. Cleaners are hard workers and qlways polite. So much space and still haven't seen the other side .how close it is to everything . Our first holiday since lockdown and we had amazing time. Seveeeeen

I didn't like that it's not much clear directions to rooms etc. And that C block looked like it was building side kind of (the ceiling was leaking when we stayed there outside of our room) . The glaasses had lipsticks on them and were kind of dirty. And the drinks selections wasn't the best. But as I said we had amazing stay and would deffinitelly come back.

great location with a fantastic sea view. The staff in the restaurants and spa is great, very welcoming and friendly. very good breakfast. good selection of fruits, vegetables, bread and deserts. they have animation which seems to be good. we did not really participate. live music after dinner is appreciated. shuttle to the beach - we never used it, as we had a car. but it is a great offer.

Food in the main restaurant for dinner was very mediocre. Fish is not eatable. I had impression it is cooked from the frozen fish fillet. in any case it was completely tasteless and I tried it every day and different sorts of fish. same with meat - dry and tasteless veal and pork. only chicken was eatable. The dishes - tellers and glasses where never really clean. The water in the “heated” pool outside was very cold. the staff on the reception - I mainly was in contact with one lady - was not particularly friendly. and they made you resend the booking confirmation from booking.com to their mail address, as they do not get it from the platform. really??

Hotel itself was nice and lots of room round the pools. Enteetainmentbwas good and staff friendly and helpful.

Parts of hotel looked as though need some work and the bedrooms had lino flooring not tiles which you would expect in a 4 star hotel. Bathrooms were clean and functional but a bit basic as in no tiles on walls or floor instead has like formica panels. There were quese for some of the bars at times.

Excellent hotel, great location. A lot of options for breakfast and dinner. The food was fresh and excellent cooked they have very good chefs. The room has good view to the ocean, was clean, the bed was very comfortable. I really enjoyed of the show and entertainment. The spa is very well maintained, clean and was very safe only 2 family was allowed one time. Is a shuttle that is taking you to the city twice per day. Are 3 swimming pools one has warm water. We stayed 20 days I booked in the beginning for 2 days and after we stay another 18 days. The Papagayo beach is 20 minutes walk in a protective park reserve.

Lovely room and clean resort; staff were very friendly; food was tasty and plentiful; activities were more aimed to kids but the yoga, excursion and evening entertainment were fun; spa was a great free addition; unlimited drinks for all inclusive included spirits which was an unexpected lovely surprise.

the heated pool wasn’t that heated, so too cold to swim in during our February stay.

Great breakfast and lunch, dinner was a bit lacking in choice. Bedroom very quiet and large, quiet adults only pool and plenty of areas around to sunbathe. Need to book alternative restaurants well in advance. Loved the hotel being eco friendly with paper cups, cotton wristband and paper straws.

Room had kettle and tea bags but no coffee or milk, plenty of coffee stations around the hotel but could have done with something in the room.

The choice of restaurants within the resort was good although the range of food in each was very similar. Our all inclusive range was very good, particularly in the extensive range of drinks available

All the restaurants served buffet style food, but all the restaurants we used had difficulty keeping the food warm. Much of the time the "hot" food was actually cold.A large spacious resort
