Hotel Rua Salamanca

The location is great. It's easy to walk to all of the main tourist sights, and the abundance of great food and drink available is wonderful. When we visited (August 28 to September 2) it did not feel terribly crowded even though there were a lot of people there. We loved walking around the area and seeing how things evolved throughout the day, from being quiet and empty at 0600 to being busy and full of life until after midnight. The vibe of the area is very relaxed. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Adrianna. We felt very welcome. There is a small fridge in the room and a lot of closet space. There are also a couple of fairly comfortable chairs and a nice desk.

The bathroom layout is kind of awkward, especially the tub/shower. We had never seen faucets like the ones in the tub, and they take a little getting used to. The hot water is probably hotter than it should be, so be careful! Also, the lighting in the bathroom is not so great for shaving or putting on makeup.

The hotel is in an amazing location, right in the middle of the historic district. The room was clean and made up daily. There is an elevator so taking suitcases up was easy.

You can’t drive directly to the property and neither Google nor Apple Maps have been updated to show the pedestrian zones in the area. This made it difficult to get to the hotel. we finally called (we don’t speak Spanish unfortunately) to find out you can’t get there in a car. If you go, park in one of the parking lots and walk (it’s not very far). just wish we had known this ahead of time.

The location was perfect, right near the main square and the amazing sights of Salamanca. We loved the glassed balcony looking over the road in Room 11. I had asked for two beds but this was easily resolved with one double bed and one sofa bed. Both were comfortable and the staff welcoming and helpful. There were plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity.

It was not easy to find with the Google directions and we drove around for a bit, ending up in the pedestrianised area before we were guided in to the right place over the phone. The (free) parking is three minutes away - uphill to the hotel if you are arriving.

The staff are wonderful, so friendly and helpful and incredibly patient with us and our bad Spanish. Can’t beat the area it’s in, close to everything you could possibly want as a tourist. Short walk from the train station. The room was very spacious and we loved the glassed in balcony. We were able to see the Semana Santa processions from our balcony, so special. Even though it’s a very busy area, close all the windows and it’s quiet. Breakfast was good and the towels are huge and thick. There’s a fridge in the room and they provide 2 bottles of water.

The location is excellent. It is close to everything you want to see and explore in Salamanca. It's very quiet and comfortable. The staff is amazing. We arrived after the check-in time because our flight was delayed and the receptionist waited for us to get to the hotel at 12:30 a.m.

The breakfast could be improved, but there are so many places to eat around that you don't really need to eat at the hotel. Besides, the staff gladly recommends places to eat around the area.

Parking was a bit of a challenge involving a James Bond-like slalom through the pedestrianised streets of Salamanca scattering tourists, old black-shawled ladies and restaurant tables. But the short walk to the hotel through the ancient, ridiculously picturesque town centre more than made up for that. The hotel is well-located and courtesy of Covid we had an excellent breakfast delivered to our room by charming hotel staff.

Perfect for our stop over on a long journey. We had a big trailer but there was ample parking. Staff were friendly, rooms very clean and comfortable. Beds extremeley comfortable. The service in the restaurant was great; speedy and attentive. Although the hotel was busy with coach loads of visitors we had no sense of being under pressure, the restaurant was calm and quiet and there was plenty of space and time for everyone. The food was good - we had a simple supper and very good breakfast buffet. All in all a little bit of much appreciated luxury and very good value for money.

The road noise in the bedrooms is evident but that was because we chose to have the windows open

Hotel Rua is in an excellent location where you are close to everything, but at the same time, it is tucked away in a quiet street. We stayed on the 4th floor and our room was super comfortable, clean, very quiet and it had a really nice view too. The beds were very comfy, the bathroom was also big. If we come back, we would definitely stay here again. The staff were also so lovely and super helpful.

The receptionist at the front desk was very kind and helpful. When I got to the room, I was very pleased to find a nice, clean, spacious room. The bathroom was very nice and well kept. My bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location right off of the Plaza Mayor. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone I know traveling to Salamanca.

The only issue I had with the stay was a little difficulty with closing the bathroom door. It should be an easy fix!

Excellent location for exploring Old City Salamanca. The hotel is well maintained and modern. We had a room with a small balcony. Although not large enough for sitting, it was great for ventilation as we also had a window by the entry door. The breakfast was a bit pricey for what it was but worth it so we didn't have to leave. Staff was very friendly. If ever in Salamanca again we woud surely stay at Hotel Rua.
