Ibis Bilbao Barakaldo

Very helpful staff & the usual ibis good quality of room & premises. A good shopping mall very close by on the opposite side of the road. Limited parking & not reserved but street parking normally available around the block when we visited end of August. Petrol station right next door convenient if travelling by car. Good tip if visiting beautiful Bilbao & if you have a car: drive a few minutes from ibis Hotel to the Metro & use the Metro Parking. Parking is expensive but when you use the Metro, the Metro ticket which you buy from a machine inside the station, also serves as a discount on the parking ticket which will be charged at 70 cents Euro for 24 hours! Staff will gladly explain.

Breakfast is very good above average, however we requested gluten-free for one guest. We had pre booked this request, and at breakfast, we're told we should have ordered this the night before. Never had to do this at any other hotel. If this is the case, it needs to be made clear on checking. The guest managed without bread.

Had difficulty finding the hotel, using the post code provided, we did see some Ibis signage. But this disappeared, making navigation difficult. Eventually, I spotted the hotel on the other side of the road and made my way to it. If we were told it opposite the shopping mal, it would have helped.

A typical IBIS experience with good price/quality. Nice room, good bed, clean, ok breakfast.

As I only stayed two nights, the reception asked whether they could skip cleaning the room. I asked them to clean the room anyway - which was not a problem. However, they did not clean the room, then why ask? This was a bit unfortunate as I threw my towels on the floor. Although this is beyond their power, the location is quite distant from everything and the closest metro station is quite far. There is a bus station nearby, but you have to find your way how to walk to the hotel. Nonetheless, I am happy with my stay as the price/quality was OK!

Staff very professional. Although evening meal was pre cooked before bringing into Hotel. It was very hot and tasty. Breakfast was very good and a very good verity of food items both continental and English. Will be staying again in the future.

Nothing to dislike apart from Brochure stating that there was secured car parking, when it wasn’t. No Barrier and anyone on foot can enter via two separate entrances. But that is only a very small negative, which I turn was a good nights stay.

Did exactly what it said on the tin - it's an Ibis. Place was clean, comfortable and the staff were excellent. Added bonus was the secure parking for my motorcycle. The bar and good were great both in choices and prices, the food quality was very good.

Nothing really, not the most beautiful location but again,it's an Ibis and you get what you pay for. Made up for by the convenience for the ferry and the friendliness of the staff.

The hotel is convenient for an overnight stop before going to the port for our Brittany Ferries sailing back to the UK. It’s got ground level parking beside the hotel which is a positive as some of the underground parking other hotels have can be very tight space wise and difficult to manoeuvre in, especially if you have a big car. It takes dogs and allows you to have them at tables just outside the restaurant area if you want to have them with you when you’re eating. The breakfast is continental with plenty of choice and the evening meal we had was very good and not too expensive. There’s a garage next to it if you want to fill up your car before you go home and a large shopping centre across the road.

There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room which would nice to have but this tends not to be the practice in many Spanish hotels.

We stayed for two nights before getting the ferry home and it was great. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff were great and the parking was free 🙂 We ate at the hotel on the first night and the food was good. The bonus is that there is a big shopping centre over the road with various food outlets available and a supermarket

There was nothing to not like about the property.

As expected from IBIS the reception was a pleasant experience with nice friendly staff. The hotel was clean and tidy with covid requirements met in all areas. the room was clean and tidy. The bed comfy. Breakfast was good with a fair selection and sufficient.

I hadn't really noticed before but having stayed in a different hotel group room the day after, I found that the IBIS towels are smaller. Whilst they do the job they are intended for it is sometimes nice to be able to 'wrap' yourself in a towel. This isn't possible with the ones available at the moment.

The room was very clean, the bed was quite comfortable..I asked for extra pillows and we got them straight away. Breakfast was fine for a continental breakfast, everything we needed from fruit, yoghurt and coffee

Nothing really although we did have to drive around to try to find the entrance, we could see it from the other side of the duel carriage way, it could be better sign posted.

Location is excellent for the ferry terminal. Parking is also excellent (and free) provided you get there earlier enough. There is no height restriction which meant it is handy for campers etc.

Decor a little tired in the room but nothing serious. No drink making facilities in the room.
