Absolute Lake View Motel

Location is great, short walk to the lake and restaurants, etc. Facilities were older but very clean, well stocked crockery etc. Plenty of clean towels. Air conditioning in lounge. Lots of windows for natural light and air. Friendly host.

Shower door leaks so water over the bathroom floor - not a big deal but went through bath mats and paper towels to prevent slips by kids. Carparking is difficult with large vehicles when busy - can't turn into parks - but mostly managed. Bedroom needs a fan.

Our room had two beds: Two adults and a child. The beds were fine. The electric blankets were a welcome surprise due to the cold. The room was clean, maybe a little dated. The location is exceptional. Walking distance to dozens of things. A short drive to everything else.

The heater in the room didn't work. By the time we discovered this, there was no staff to report it to. It was pretty darn cold in the room. It was tempting in the morning to move the electric blankets and use them as floor heaters.

Location was great. So close to shops, waterfront, restaurants and bars. Bed was 3 months old and very comfy. Water pressure on shower/corner bath amazing . Well equipped kitchenette. Comfy seats for table Linen and towels quality and soft. Room was clean and bathroom clean too. Spa is clean in pool room.

Bit of mold coming through on bath silicone. Cistern flush on toilet is a bit stiff. But that was all.

Fantastic location, so I could take my cup of coffee across the road to be see in the day next to the lake. Magnificent. The unit was small, but cosy, had everything we could have needed, We slept well. Super friendly staff too who made us all feel really welcome after a long hard day of travelling.

there was a broken drawer handle, and don't expect great views. You don't need them because the lake is RIGHT OUTSIDE THE MOTEL.

Love the in room spa - was perfect to relax after a very busy work week. The team was so accomedating allowing my partner to check in for me while I was travelling back from auckland to arrive late - was great to arrive to a warm room and spa

The curtain wasn't long enough over the windows width and the rail also came down - but found out this was due to a recent curtain wash and being placed in wrong room - great service from the team :)

Location was good. Checkout the Central Taupō Farmers’ market nearby if u are there on Sunday morning, All the beds for all pax were in one room which worked well for our family. Gerard was also quite friendly.

Mould stains in bathroom. Also I don’t think any of the rooms gave a direct view of the lake cos the facing of the property is perpendicular to the lake so something to note.

We stayed for a weekend of motor racing at Taupo track. Location was excellent! Very comfortable beds. Aircon was much appreciated. We swam and had a spa at the end of the track days. Although Gerard was very under the pump with demands of operating, he was warm friendly and accomodating. The James Corban race team will be back. Thanks.

Room was spacious and the motel was very close to the centre of town and the lakefront. Motel had a small indoor pool, a small spa and a sauna. Also had outdoor BBQ and table and chairs for guests to use. Wifi was good.

Spa pool didn't seem to be working. The motel probably dates from the 1980s but has been well maintained. Could do with a lick of paint.

Location was perfect! The room did have all beds in one room however it was super clean and cozy, we all enjoyed the pool and overall would definitely stay again. The manager and staff were so friendly and helpful.

No complaints just that there a few things that could do with a little upgrade, for example the swimming pool area but for the value you get for the rooms well worth a stay

We were a group of three that treated ourselves to the lake view room, a great space where we weren't tripping over each other. Good kitchen facilities but due to the great location and easy walk to the main restaurant area we spent most of our time enjoying the local hospitality. Friendly staff with great recommendations, and a nice quiet area. Would stay again.
