Kathmandu Eco Hotel

Great central location, friendly staff, nice resturaunt. The staff helped me whenever I needed and I learnt more about Nepal talking with them. The airport picky up was smooth and saved me lots of stress when I arrived late at night. I had problems with the hot water but the staff were able to fix this when I asked them.

For people who don't like or struggle with stairs, there are a LOT of stairs. I was on the 5th floor so I had a good workout going to and from my room. The staff were able to help carry my luggage up and down the stairs for me. My room window looked onto another building so there was no natural light.

Pros: Kathmandu Eco Hotel Staff Members or Family Members their behavior, way of greetings and always supportive. There is so much that I can express towards elaborating the hotel facilities to hotel location and their family members nature. Always welcoming with open arms from top to bottom level of the hierarchy. Felt comfortable and loving Traveled Solo but didn't felt so as everyone was communicating and special arrangements for the breakfast, evening Tea even after checking out granted extra few hours. And one observation as a LGBTQ Guy They have sexy male crew or family members but all are workaholic.

Cons: 1. No lift (Major Issue) 2. 4% Extra on Card Payments as digital systems are still in pipeline 3. Costing part of cabs can be reduced or arranged in lower prices. 4. Some small amendments reqd like Tea/Coffee/ Milk (small pouchs of nescafe/everyday) in each rooms, room facilities

The owner and staff were welcoming, services with a smile and attentive to our needs. They were simply wonderful and helpful should we need help. We love their room service. The food and drinks were very good and reasonable priced.

One room didn't have the best internet connection so we changed room without any hassle. I wish they have kids breakfast price because my 8 year old son hardly eats. We opt to eat out for breakfast. You can order a real coffee or any food from the restaurant that isn't on the room service menu.

This hotel is superb!! The building itself is very nice, we got upgraded to Mandala room and it’s just like the photos, big, bright, super comfortable and with all those amazing paintings on the wall… just great The staff is so friendly and welcoming, it was very nice to meet each of them. They have a nice restaurant with very good quality food and the presentation of the dishes is fancy as well. Super recommended. Breakfast super complete too. Special mention to the night receptionist and the waiter in the restaurant, and all the staff thank you all for your kindness. This was an amazing stay, highly recommended place if you are visiting Katmandu!

The location was perfect for us - Swayambhu, Durbar square and other important places of interest were very close (20-25 min by walk). The hotel is right in the middle of a busy tourist area, but also there you could find all fun restaurants and beautiful exotic shops. We loved the culture! Most of the hotel staff were very nice and always ready to provide any help we needed. Our room was very beautiful and clean, beds were comfortable, good quality sheets. We loved that the hotel provided free airport pick up and drop.

Sometimes there was a problem with hot water to shower in the morning. We had to wait for a while till the hot water would start running, or take our showers later in the day.

I've stayed at more hotels in Thames over the last 5 years than you can shake a stick at. Kathmandu Eco Hotel has amazing staff, all are super helpful answering questions, how to get to different bus parks, and just general friendliness. Rooms have always been clean, hot water is reliable. I generally just want a place to sleep, and this fits the bill every time.

The descriptions of the rooms and the rooms they put you in don't match. I've stayed here 3 times, and it's kind of funny if you don't really care about that sort of thing. Main call out is just don't pay more for an upper floor/balcony room and accept a lesser room. They don't seem to ever edit the rooms actually available at any given time (so if you request a balcony but someone has already booked it, they won't update the booking.com listing). WiFi is very unreliable in all three different rooms I've stayed in.

Kathmandu Eco Hotel is in a very central location, in the heart of Thamel, surrounded by lovely traditional shops and vibrant coffee shops and restaurants. We appreciated that we were picked up from the airport in a country we’re visiting for the first time. We felt personal attention and care from everyone on the staff, including the owner, Raj, who was always willing to offer advice and tips for our plans. The hotel restaurant is very good, with a large selection of dishes and at reasonable prices. No wonder the hotel was voted #1 by Trip Advisor for 2022 and we are sure it will be the winner again this year! Their kindness, hospitality and professionalism is unmatched!

Everything was perfect!

The hotel was in prime location. They offered car service to pick up from airport. Along with that the staff were supportive. The hotel owner was very polite and helpful. He arranged our car for travel to Pokhara and also the tourist bus to return back. In addition, since it was my husband's birthday, he arranged a very nice car for our travel. He was very responsive and always tried to help us during our stay. We had breakfast in hotel, and it was good.

One drawback is that the comforter was not enough for couple, and we felt kind of cold at night. They need to improve the service of hot water.

Hands down, the staff are the hotel's best asset. They are consistently helpful and friendly. Upon arriving in Kathmandu, I was told that I could not change Indian rupees, and the ATM and credit card machines do not accept Indian cards, for some bizarre reason. Therefore, I could not pay for my visa and exit the airport. The immigration officials were very unhelpful and stern. Luckily, Mr. Bimal, the manager at Kathmandu Eco Hotel, spoke to the immigration officials and arrived with Nepalese currency to save me. I really appreciated his help; he was truly my superman that day! Please do stay at Kathmandu Eco Hotel when visiting Kathmandu - it is wonderful.

Breakfst was very good, big variety. The staff very helpful. Excellent service which also included airport service. Rooms bigger then similar. Very clean and the manager Bimal Damala was allways there with a hand, helping and with huge amount of information and suggestions. Good location, close to most things that you might need and tourist spots worth to see. Comparing to other hotels in the same price range ( I have 8 years of experience), the choice is easy..."ECO-Hotel". I´ll be back.

Lack of elevator for the elderly friends though the staff fixed so they got rooms on first floor. Othervise we didn´t have any complaints. You will get what you pay for, actually more...
