Casa Mia Suites

Casa Mia Suites is located a short walk east of the city center--close enough to reach restaurants, shops, and the cathedral in a few minutes, and just far enough from the noise, crowds and church bells. Rooms face a pleasant courtyard from the ground level and two higher levels; we were given a large suite on the ground level, which included a dine-in kitchen outfitted with cookware, dining ware, fridge, microwave and dishwasher, plus a small living room nicely decorated with regional art, a king bedroom with small closet and safe, and bathroom with walk-in shower. The only downside to that suite assignment was the lack of privacy, meaning we had windows and curtains closed much of the time. The staff were very pleasant, and the suite was cleaned daily. San Miguel is a popular tourist and ex-pat town, so there are lots of Americans around and English spoken; however, being 90 minutes from an airport keeps somewhat of a lid on the crowds and modernization.

Overall we were quite pleased, so there were only a couple of details that could have been improved. The bed was outfitted with a comforter too heavy and warm for comfortable sleeping in March, while a lighter blanket would have been a nice option. As noted by others, there is Wifi but of tenuous strength and availability. And we'd have welcomed some additional hooks or bars for hanging clothes and towels.

There is no restaurant at hotel but so many within walking distance of hotel - a few within a block so lots of choices close by for food so not having restaurant is non issue. Courtyard - very pretty. Check-in easy - they even took our bags to rooms. Mexican decor. Parking is not at hotel but they valet it for us so non-issue. The rooms are wonderful - we had 3 rooms - deluxe apartment - amazing - view, jacuzzi, deck with table, chairs, kitchen! King room - perfect for more adults as they have room with bed and then sofa beds, and the regular apartment - perfect for older folks - ground floor, living room, kitchen, and bedroom. This place was a gem. Staff awesome. Centro - is a 5-10 minute walk - wow this should be a 5 star hotel but because they don't have a restaurant (or I other 5 star services like shoe shine, business center, etc they can't get rated that high?) I just don't get any negative reviews of this place. If we come back here this will be the place we will try and book.

I can't think of anything. This place checked all the boxes and much more.

Lovely base from which to explore San Miguel de Allende and within walking distance of the central area with all sorts of shops, markets, restaurants open during the day and evening. Rooms are around a courtyard central area with lovely garden plants and tables and chairs to sit out in. We enjoyed sitting there to bring back take outs from the local restaurants and food stalls. Also excellent roof top terrace with views over the town. Owner was very helpful in arranging a car and driver for a transfer to Mexico City airport at end of our stay. Driver was excellent and car very smooth and comfy.

Nothing really, we were very happy with everything and choice we had made.

The location is amazing, steps away from all the happenings. The split level apartment was perfect for our 4 member family, had a full kitchen with living room and seating area, stocked with everything you need to make a meal. Casa Mia also was very thoughtful and left 2 umbrellas for us to use during the rainy weather, amongst other nice touches and the bed linens were also top notch. Overall, very good experience, would highly recommend. I would certainly come back here with my family again. Thank you Monica and Carlos for a wonderful time.

Internet is not the best

The building was beautiful and the location was within walking distance of great restaurants. The staff helped us with Covid testing for our return home. It was wonderful to not have to worry about it at the airport. Even though the car was parked 5 blocks away and it had to be valeted, it didn't feel like an inconvenience.

The bathroom ceiling had mold. It's on an uphill...we knew it was but it was tiring coming home late night. :) The views from the roof top terrace make up for the uphill location.

The location was amazing. Just had to walk down the street to the main square. I would have preferred a room on an upper floor as being on the ground floor the room was a little dark and of course people walking by took away your privacy. We booked late and that was all that was available. Friendly staff. They are just up from a great bakery and with a microwave we had breakfast in our room. They give 2 bottles of water and coffee every day.

The only small complaint is that the only window is the door and the glass was very dirty and never cleaned.

Terrific property. We had a full suite, which resembled someone's fully furnished apartment. Lots of very nice touches to make your stay comfortable, even bags for errands (food, etc.). Staff were fabulous. Super helpful. Location is about 150 meters from central square. Fabulous view from our suite, and especially from the rooftop terrace. You will be very pleased.

The wifi is spotty at best. The repeaters are located in the hallways/balconies. Strong coverage outside the suite. Inside is really iffy. I understand ownership is aware of unreliable wifi, Still no improvement.

Nice small hotel with comfortable suites. The hotel is very charming in a great central location in SMA. The suites have almost everything you need, from coffee, toiletries etc. Staff is very helpful and friendly. It has a nice central patio which is relaxing.

we very much enjoyed our stay... if I'm to be picky, perhaps the noise of the air condition could be improved but we still managed to sleep :)

excellent service, made you feel at home, safe, so friendly, location is unbeatable, loved the courtyard, the birds, fountain, very safe for older solo travellers, loved the roof top terrace

Mattress was not comfortable, although sheets and pillows were nice, suite a bit dark, not a lot of hot water from sink in bathroom, could be more plush towels

Room/suite was roomy, efficient A/C, access to a semi private porch was lovely after a walk from the center, which is just few minutes walk from the hotel, roof top and the view from the top of San Miguel, especiallly at sunset, is exquisit.

Hot water in the shower runs out a bit too quickly. There was no window in the bedroom, but there was one in the living room, which compensated.
